I thought it might be fun to do some rates for oldies acts, but not as in-depth as the usual buzz jack ones which are enthusiastically comprehensive (and admirable).
These would be weekly (ish) and go from A to Z, unless someone nominates an act for the next week. I'll pick what I think are the key/best 10 tracks from an artist, and everyone just votes 1 to 5, with one "write-in" vote allowable (a track that's not on the list). It's just to end up with the Top 5 buzzjack tracks for a wide-range of acts who first had success in the last century, and who have at least 10 great tracks. It should be instant gut instinct, no research needed and the very-biased points might go as follows: 1st (fave) 10 points 2nd (7 points) 3rd (4 points) 4th (2 points) 5th (1 point) so it pays to vote for a track you REALLY love, which is the point really, just to highlight the BIG faves. I think I'll start at the weekend with A for Abba. everyone knows Abba songs and they are the first alphabetically. Which 10 songs though, will be a tough choice Or maybe not, plenty of Abba polls I can google....! |

I haven't listened to all of ABBA's out put - though I do have the box-set - so my answer wont be comprehensive but my favourite is always Chiquitita because of the rolling piano, the backing vocals and the way it starts up again at the end. Wonderful.
I'm much more of a ballads man with ABBA - so Fernando, One of Us, The Winner Takes It All and Super Trouper would be my choices for the rest of my Top 5. This post has been edited by AntoineTTe: Jan 14 2015, 07:06 PM |

Wonderful. I'm much more of a ballads man with ABBA - so Fernando, One of Us, The Winner Takes It All and Super Trouper would be my choices for the rest of my Top 5. Cheers! Sounds great to me, I'm after faves, and that's fine - I may just say list top 5 rather than limit it to the 10 I choose plus 1, but I'll pick 10 down as the most likely to be known or liked. One of your five would probably make mine, but I havent thought about it yet - mine will be up first so I don't fix the result, and to give everyone something to vote for or against I'm after making it easy to vote, but hopefully the skewed point system might throw up some surprises because chart positions within the top 5 will really matter! If you don't change your mind in the meantime, I'll take that top 5 as the first set of votes received |
