Welcome to the final shopping results of BJSC XCVII, held in Daehun and once again hosted by myself Lindsey Wixson. It's been an incredible contest, and you've been voting in your millions to snap up the hottest bargain of the month! Our AQ this month will snap up the bonus tips at the CASH DESK, whereas the remaining 40 songs have been split into four groups of 10 - the BONO LUXE, MONO, SMASUAL 90'S and COCKTAIL. Four distinct fashions all looking to put the super into superstore!

All of the money points each song gets will add to their groups total, leaving one group ahead at the end of the results. The winning clothing range from this contest will be awarded a dazzling widget, and in addition to this the victorious collection shall be rewarded a £150,000 gift card split amongst the ten participants for achieving such a wonderful result!! Before we begin, may I firstly remind you of the collections in case you have already forgotten them...

I have... no expectations for this track at all and I knew that when I sent it, but it truly did sound so good in the sun when I confirmed three weeks ago (well, it still does now, but even more so then). Avoiding bottom 10 would be nice?

Yess Jerick (I can't remember if I ever mentioned this on the forum but me discovering this song was actually inspired by one of your entries partially - I went looking for other dark folk / folk metal songs after how much I loved 'Odal' of course this isn't quite the same sound as that but hooray for you being a fan as well in return).

RECEIPT 0025/61 - JADAKISSNIA

Hello there residents of Daehun! The Jadakissnian people are here to have a look around your shop today. Hopefully we'll find many gems!



(cats definitely look round clothes shops with trollies right)



The Jadakissnian people begin their tour around Daehun's clothing shop. They soon stop dead in their tracks at the Boho Luxe area as something catches their eye. It appears to be very colourful and perfect for the summer. We spend £1 on 'Body Bounce', an item crafted by Lao Ra and Konshens for the Taahino collection.



Next we move to the Smashual 90s section as we want something a bit more laid-back following such a bold purchase. We soon come across a piece that fits the bill perfectly as it is lush and subtle. Us Jadakissnians spend £2 on 'Just Fiction' from Arrhult for the D'yermak'er collection.



We head back to Boho Luxe and check out their foreign designs. A lovely Polish number jumps out at us that we simply must have. We part ways with £3 to purchase 'Na Zawsze' from Julia Wieniewa for the Pupok collection.



Next we're looking for something super slick, smooth and swag. Soon we come across an item that has received a lot of hype in the Smashual 90s section. We deem it worthy of its hype and spend £4 on 'Not Enough' from Lido and THEY for the Trifoski collection.



We now have our first glimpse of the Cocktail section. After a quick browse, it's evident that an addictive French design must be taken home tonight. Au Revoir to £5 from the Jadakissnian bank account as we are now the proud owners of 'Danse Avec Moi' by Kosmonova from the FSR Rontvia collection.



We now go to the Mono section and get distracted for a good hour as we spot our own collection there and get excited. But we have plenty of Jadakissnian stock back at home, this is all about helping out our fellow designer friends around the world. We come across a rather stand out skirt next. It is a pretty long one but beautiful with its pattern of little birds in cages. We want this cute item right now and happily fork out £6 for 'Vogel im Käfig' by Hiroyuki Sawano & Cyua for the Séyetana collection.



We are still obsessing over our purchase earlier from the French FSR Rontvia collection. But... we want more gorgeous French designs! We're still in the Mono section and have spotted an absolutely gorgeous shirt with calming colours. This item costs a good £2 more than 'Dance Avec Moi' earlier but we deem it to be better quality so we're happy to buy this too. £7 has now been spent on 'Pars' by Charlotte for the Flynnonda collection!



We want something big... we want something beautiful... we want something... BLUE! One of our people leads us to Smashual 90s where there is a captivating shimmery blue dress hanging up. This is the best item we have laid our eyes on so far. We need it. £8 is thus spent on 'Private' by Vera Blue for the Hushkanukia collection.



Next we head back to Cocktail for an item that we had our eye on earlier. This was quite a bold and spooky piece. Us Jadakissnian people are very big fans of these designers and hope this item will be amongst the top 10 most bought this week, after missing out two times in the past on release week. We pay £9 for 'Concrete' by Crystal Castles for the Tartford collection.



While back in the Cocktail section, we spy another eye-catching number but in quite a different way to 'Concrete'. This is a very fun, massive dress that would be fit for My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings. We hope that it lives up to hype and is a massive success this week. We deem this dress to be worth double figures in cash and spend £10 on 'Gypsy (Catch Me If You Can)' by Norda & Mike De Ville and Joanna Jones for the Quintessa collection.



We head back down to Boho Luxe now to find that perfect pair of shoes. After a little while, we spy a pair that make us sit up and take notice. These really stand out from the crowd. We see why this pair have had a following spanning years in Sweden and Japan as well as the UK. We part ways with £11 for the sparkling 'Caramelldansen' shoes by Caramell, made for the Summericia collection.



Smashual 90s is now calling us again. We've had one designer in mind who had a huge hit back in the 90s. But we've found something a little more up to date than that. We're stocking up on a winter essential already because we have bought a cosy jumper with a hawk on it; this grew on us a lot since we first entered the shop and now we're going to fully embrace this standout piece. It didn't come cheap but we think it's worth it. £12 has gone to 'Spirit Of The Hawk' from Rednex for the Bøtanikkä collection.



We take a visit back to Cocktail as there was one item we were hyped to see from that section. Steven Wilson proved himself to be an extraordinary designer in the past with 'Routine' being an 11/10 piece. So we want a taste of more of his stuff. After some searching, we have come across a dress that is quite a bit shorter than 'Routine' was but it's almost every bit as enchanting as that. We're willing to give up £13 for 'Pariah' by Steven Wilson and Ninet Tayab for the Terra Avium collection.



We take a final trip back to Smasual 90s to mull over the more pricey items. We decide that we want to purchase two more luxury items before we leave. In this section we eventually decide on the longest skirt in the entire shop. Such a breathtaking and statement piece! The length may have been a risky move (let's not trip over in public!) but it is certainly worth the payoff as this is sure to turn heads. We spend £15 on 'Hearth' by Saor from the Persephonia collection.



Finally, we head back to the Cocktail section one last time in search of the perfect item. Because it's always good to save the best until last! We eventually stumble upon a collection that we have never purchased anything from before. But we spot a Spanish design that makes all of the Jadakissnian people smile. We simply must have this party dress! We spend a whopping £18 on the 'Bailando' piece by Paradisio for the Zanmatony collection.

Now all that's left is to go to the cash desk!! Thanks for this opportunity people of Daehun, you're doing a great job running this shop.

TheSnake v. funky house tune claiming four points, and Bhangra have at long last made it into our votes claiming five points with their Turkish banger, we'd previously snubbed four entries by them in their original run and another four since their comeback but this deservedly breaks their points duck from us.

- A very kool swag Bruno Mars-ian track (and maybe the winner?) from Trifoski picks up six points from us, seven points go to the retro meme and oh so kawaii jam from Summericia (maybe unpopular opinion but we actually prefer the English version anyway despite our usual love for foreign language tracks), another possible winner potential Quintessa claim our eight points with a very infectious electroswing jam, Séyetana get another nine points from us (after we also gave them exactly 9 points for both of their previous qualifiers this year, and 8 for the one before that, dat consistency) with a stunning piece of German-via-Japanese anime soundtrack which hits us harder with every repeat listen, and another retro dance entry claims ten points in the form of FSR Rontvia's French-via-German hidden gem. But we're not done with the retro eurodance yet, still two more to come in our votes...

11 Tartford // Crystal Castles - Concrete

- Eleven points go to final comeback kids Tartford, our first points to them for 11 contests (although in fairness they only qualified for one of those and a few of the intermittent DNQs were very good too), Crystal Castles can't go far wrong for us, this is by no means their best ever song but it's another noisy and witchy delight, and you wouldn't know from the sound of it that Alice Glass had ever left them because their new vocalist sounds exactly the same

12 Bøtanikkä // Rednex - The Spirit Of The Hawk

- Verrrry close to a medal position but ultimately just missing out, it's twelve points to Bøtanikkä who continue to keep providing the goods when they roam the archives for retro dance entries, 'Cotton Eye Joe' is a bit of a jam in a guilty pleasure way but this isn't even that, it's just a brilliant and super catchy track with some nice ~ethnic~ elements which always helps.

13 Zanmatony // Paradisio - Bailando

- Taking their first ever points from us in style, Zanmatony get our thirteen points with our personal favourite of the 4 retro dance offerings this month (although of course all of them are well inside our votes and we also voted for Rolloland's retro but not so dance entry, big up the retro bloc this month), a really fun and again super infectious track, and in our favourite foreign language of Spanish which always helps ('Yo Quiero Bailar' teas). Doesn't take our top points like the Loona version did in PFSC but hopefully this can come close to replicating that success nonetheless

15 Terra Avium // Steven Wilson - Pariah (feat. Ninet Tayeb)

- Not too far off becoming the second Steven Wilson song in just four contests to get top points from us, this new track instead becomes the second Terra Avium entry in three contests to get fifteen points from us (after felicita two contests back - and it's also their third silver medal from us out of their last 5 qualifiers, also including Kitchen #notblocvoting). A slightly different sound from Steven this time but still every bit as powerful and gorgeous, that chorus hits hard every time and the instrumental explosion near the end always brings the chills *.* fingers crossed this can go at least a couple of places better than 'Routine' did, Terra Avium's best entry of the year so far.

18 Jadakissnia // MONOMOTION - Mango Bay

- The time has finally come for us to give Jadakissnia eighteen points again *.* for the first time since their debut entry believe it or not!!1 And in fact 'Curtains' wouldn't have even got our 18 if Crywolf had qualified in that contest, so this is amazingly enough the very first time a Jadakissnia entry has been Persephonian voters' favourite song of the contest, after so many close calls. So the song to end the long wait is this blissful ambient house instrumental (near enough x), of course bringing very similar vibes to his labelmate FEYNMAN who represented Jadakissnia in the past but we found this one to be farrrrr more instant and just way better in general, also reminding us a lot of our own entry to the Instrumentals spinoff 'Shona' by Jake Chudnow, that managed to come 5th so this to pull off a surprise and somehow be a major hit as well please

Yup, it's a Jadakissnia/Terra Avium top 2. The bloc is strong. x

Oh I have missed the fun of having electro-swing in BJSC. I switched between this and Aelandor for my 18 quite a lot in the final moments of sending my votes, I concluded that the fun from this was worth it. I love those lyrical songs that just wrap their hook line around a fast-paced swing, it's fabulous. Best of luck contending with this Quintessa!

15 Aelandor: Billy Lockett - Old Man
god, why do I do this to myself? There's one reason Aelandor is so high, and that's because on lyrics, it's a solid 10/10. And lyrics are the way you get me to notice pop these days, there's so much in this final that left zero impact on me because of lack of lyrical interest (and musical interest also). Emotional and hard-hitting with a pleasant little melody line, there's nothing else I could really want more from pop. I'd never heard this before it got sent, and I even, when seeing in the semi list, expected I wouldn't like it because from title and artist name it sounded like one of those weird indie things that Jacob likes but I find fairly boring (another singer called Billie, might have been Marten leaps to mind), I wasn't expecting quite such an outpouring of emotion.

13 FSR Rontvia: Kosmonova - Danse Avec Moi!
Somehow superior to the two Eurodance songs I already knew, this is very reminiscent of Eurodancer and those synths are glorious.

12 Terra Avium: Steven Wilson feat. Ninet Tayab - Pariah
beautiful indie duet, very different to Routine and filling a different niche, the soft contrasting duet with good lyrics that seem so mournful, very engaging

11 Persephonia: Saor - Hearth
Obviously a huge metal epic, I commend our Bre on having the sheer balls to send this and get it in the final, may it shock even further tonight. It's so pleasant to just leave on and think about life with the ups and downs of the instrumental and the dulcet tones of the singers, proper tune

10 Daehun: Red Velvet - You Better Know
The best K-Pop entry for a long time, finally Red Velvet have shown their best foot forward with a fantastic pop song that is indeed very Carly Rae, I know I said that I want lyrics from pop but a sunny happy instrumental for the singers to sing over can more than suffice.

09 Aeroche: RL Grime - Reims
And Iz manages to vote for the winner, or does he? I don't know how far RL Grime will go but I think it should equal Because Of U if only because it's finally another RL Grime entry of similar quality, those great sounds cannot be ignored.

08 Ojnoj: TOPIA - Statement Song
Contender section of my votes... if I've got this right, I've voted for both the huge 'indie' contender and the huge 'pure pop' contender right next to each other. This is possible! Topia stands out because the singer puts so much into her voice, as if she's making a statement... ha... ha. Really catchy pop song though.

07 Jupiterdonia: Smallpools - Million Bucks
Smallpools are a band I always will hold dear in my heart as the only BJSC entry (still) that I've ever been beaten to in their first entry Dreaming. This isn't quite as life-affirming as that but still a great tune and it's lovely to see them getting a second country their debut qualifier.

06 Bhangra: Tarkan - Yolla
turk dance heaven, yay. Best Bhangra since their return.

.... Another one for the ~good lyrics~ pile. They grew on me.

Very upbeat and fancy song, don't think it'll quite win but another good one from Trifoski

hey bal nfu, I love the lyrics on this one too, all about fiction and how people are just fiction and it's good

01 Taahino: Lao Ra feat. Konshens - Body Bounce
Very catchy, not quite as amazing a Lao Ra song as her other two entries but v. now and fun, I had it in my head while collecting all day today.

Nearly voted for Botanikka, Summericia (both of which I'm afraid got pushed out by my standard practice of already knowing them and so penalising them a tad, did want to vote for them though!), Rolloland (which was a rather lovely indie song, don't get the apparent hatred it stirs up from some quarters) and Kluminican Republic (which did Marina fairly decently).
