Unsurprisingly, we have another new #1 this week as Why Don't We's latest single BIG PLANS jumps eight spots to #1 in its first full week. It's the American boyband's fifth #1, all of which occurred within the past 12 months. It comes less than six months after their last #1, 8 Letters, which came from the album of the same name. This is from a new project, hinted at by "1/12" on the single's artwork, suggesting we could be in for twelve monthly releases in 2019.

This week's highest new entry comes from Ariana Grande, with her record-breaking new single 7 rings. The track is Ariana's sixth top 10 in the past year, starting with #1 hit no tears left to cry. 7 rings is the highest charting track since then, entering at #3, one spot higher than her previous single thank u, next. Both songs feature on her forthcoming fifth studio album, also titled thank u, next, coming next month. Overall, it's her fifteenth top 10 single, stretching back almost six years to Right There in 2013. Ariana has notched up at least one top 10 every year (it's not obvious from the chart history below but 2017's sole top 10 was One Last Time, which had previously peaked at #13).

Climbing up 17 spots this week, American duo City Girls score their first top 10 hit with Twerk at #7. It's fuelled mostly by the music video, alongside the guest verse from Cardi B, who notches up her seventh top 10 hit overall, just a few weeks after Money charted at #9.

Entering at #9, Mabel scores her second top 10 hit instantly with Don't Call Me Up. It was almost a year ago that she scored her first top 10 hit on Fine Line with Not3s, a #5 hit in its first week, but both are part of an impressive six top 15 hits she's collected. My Lover came the closest to the top 10, peaking at #12, with Finders Keepers at #13, and both Ring Ring and One Shot at #15.

Also new to this week's top 10 is Jordan Clarke, who scores his first hit this week. His track Freaks is one of the Eurovision potentials for the UK this year, and while both versions of that song have received a mixed reaction, but I love the track and it's made a huge impact since its midweek premiere.
