QUOTE Voice 2016 winner Kevin Simm announces the release of his debut album ‘Recover’. The album presents a cohesive musical set from an artist reborn who throws his body and mind into every song. The 10 track album is a concoction of woozy vocals and dazzling melodies, creating a finely-balanced ecosystem of singer/songwriter, folk and soul music with a constant focus on Kevin’s clear, emotionally-charged voice. Since winning The Voice earlier this year, Kevin has been in the studio, hard at work on his debut album with producer Matty Benbrook and songwriters Jim Duguid (Paolo Nutini), Pauline Taylor (Dido), Starsailor frontman James Walsh (who hails from the same town as Kevin) and Ed Drewett, acclaimed for his work with One Direction, Olly Murs and Craig David. Musical highlights include first single ‘Wildfire’ which exudes confident acoustic strides alongside Kevin’s brooding vocals, the heartfelt ballad ‘Recover’, the gritty, blues-rock tinged ‘Trains’ and the folk-inspired, harmony-laden ‘Good News.’ Kevin was a familiar face to many - he was previously part of pop five-piece Liberty X, topping the UK charts in 2002 with the unforgettable ‘Just A Little.’ Fast forward 14 years, an artist is reborn, channeling classic soul inspiration from the likes of Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder to impressive effect. His versatility stunned audiences on The Voice 2016 week after week, with stunning versions of Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ - which now has over 5 million views - being met with rapturous applause - and in the latter case, a full house of turns from The Voice coaches. 1. Wildfire 2. Recover 3. Trains 4. Easier 5. Good News 6. Strangers 7. It's You 8. Beautiful 9. Conquer 10. Colours Looking forward to this, Kevin was a well deserved winner and the single is good (an Ed Drewett co-write too, no less) |

He always seemed more like a fighter than a singee tbh, especially with his ropey vocals.

Why is "All You Good Friends" not included? I bought his first album when he went solo back then, not sure if I'm going to buy this.
