Hoping Leona Lewis does well in this with her tracks.

Ryan / Leona are like Gaga and Red One or Linda Perry and Xtina they just go together!

I’m not at all confident on what I think could win though. I’m thinking there’ll be some shocks and surprises along the way here.

Let's get underway shall we. Right at the bottom of the pack is a Big Time Rush single, Music Sounds Better With U. I believe they were formed as part of a TV show (also called Big Time Rush) and ended up being the first single from their 2nd album. It ended up charting at #61 here in the UK, it's actually a bop and I'm sad to see it at the bottom. Rocketeer is next. It was The Far East Movements 2nd single following the HUGE 'Like A G6'. It was a decent hit at the time, peaking at #14, but seems to be largely forgotten about now, which is a shame as it's a banger. James Blunt's lead single from his 3rd studio album is next. Stay The Night was a decent-ish hit for him, peaking at #26, but they went on to have a much bigger hit together later on... One of the biggest hits in this countdown now and it finishes in the bottom 4. At #41 is Ed Sheeran's Happier. It was Ed's 5th single from his album '÷' and peaked at #6, where it entered the week of the albums release. Definitely bottom tier Ed songs for me, far too soppy, whiny and bland for me.

Totally agree with this. They need to get back in the studio asap. kink.gif

No real losses so far. I'm glad Ed has left early. If only he could miss the top 40 in the official charts. tearsmile.gif

Lowest: ...ready for it & Sharon 🍷 (03) + Nightcrawler, Hauspital* & Mack. 🐠 (04)

Lowest: Dobbo (-01); Nick F1 (00) + Sharon 🍷 (03)

Starting the top 40 is Bonfire Heart, the 2nd of Ryan's collaborations with James Blunt. An absolute bop and I'm really saddened to see it as low as #40 </3 I remember seeing it storm up the iTunes chart and being really shocked at just how good it was! It went on to peak at #4 and was huge hit, spending 25 weeks inside the top 25! Ryan's collaboration with Gym Class Heroes is up next at #39. The Fighter is decent, but nothing particularly memorable or special. The song peaked at #44 and wasn't really much of a hit, spending 3 weeks in total in the top 75. Calling (Lose My Mind) a collaboration with power house DJ's Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso falls out next and I wish I gave it a higher score, it's a banger! It went top 20, but spent just 3 weeks in the top 75. It's also the first song to receive a score of "11" to drop out of this rate!

Up next we have a tie! But due to no 11's, OneRepublic's latest release Didn't I is next to fall out. It doesn't wow me and a few of their previous singles that preceeded this were a lot stronger, imo. Finally, at #36 is the OneRepublic single I Lived. It received one score of 11, but also managed to score a -1! I don't quite understand how, personally, it's a very good song! But those are the rules, I guess. It spent 4 weeks inside the top 40, peaking at #29. Good song!

Not surprised at what’s left so far.

Hoped I’d have bumped Ed up by giving him an 8 oops he ain’t liked well on here.

Most of the ones leaving so far being male vocalists isn’t shocking either. Hoping that at least One Republic track can make it far though.

Starting us off in this section is Maps by Maroon 5, who, like OneRepublic, faded away before bouncing back in a HUGE way with their biggest ever hits (although Maroon 5 have inexplicably managed to somehow remain relevant, where OneRepublic failed to do so drama.gif) This was a massive hit for M5. Lord knows why as it's truly awful! I very rarely give out -1's in these rates, but this absolutely HAD to get it. I hate it so much and find it very irritating. Up next is probably my least favourite Olly single. Seasons is just annoying. There were so many better singles choices to be had from 'Never Been Better' but this always ranked so low, not only on the album, but in his discography. He's such a solid artist overall though, this was just a misfire for me.

Hailee Steinfeld's B O P Most Girls is up next at #33. This managed to go top 40 for Hailee for a couple of weeks I think and it's such a good, pop song. I'm surprised at how low it's finished here though as I expected it higher! One of OneRepublic's most recent releases drops out next as we say goodbye to Rescue Me. Such a good song that I was sure would be a bigger hit than it ended up being. sad.gif Then finally, it's a tie, as we say goodbye to I Want You To Know by Zedd & Selena Gomez due to receiving no 11's. It's a bop, but one I don't really listen to much. It was a big worldwide hit for both of them though.

We head into the top 30 now and at #30 and winning the tie over 'I Want You To Know' is OneRepublic's own single Say (All I Need). This was their 3rd single from their debut album 'Dreaming Out Loud' and followed up the hugely successful 'Stop & Stare'. It was a top 75 hit, but it really deserved more. It's absolutely stunning! I can't listen to this song without turning up the volume to full! Sublime and one of my all time favourites! Deserved so much better in the charts AND on here tbh. sad.gif Jennifer Lopez is up next with her single Do It Well. I had no idea Tedder was involved in this until I looked for this rate. Lol. It's a decent-ish song, but coming off the back of 'Get Right' & 'Hold You Down' this seemed a bit of a huge step backwards. It just feels like it's trying too hard to be 'Get Right'.

Natasha Bedingfield's Love Like This is up next at #28. Receiving one score of 11 from Haus, this seemed to be a song that received mediocre rates with thenexthighest being a 7.5 (from myself) and no lower than a score of 3... I wonder what would have happened had I not reminded Haus to vote? thinking.gif It's a decent song. But I think even my 7.5 was slightly too high tbh. I listened to it the other day again and it was a bit... bland. At #27 is X Factor winner Ben Haenow's coronation single, a cover of OneRepublic's Something I Need. In terms of XF winning singles, this is in the top half, but I prefer the original. Finally we have the lead single from B.o.B's second album, So Good. A brilliant pop-rap song. B.o.B is actually pretty underrated imo. Both of his commercially successful albums were SO good! (Lol) This was a top 10 smash for him and did well in the UK charts, overall!

Getting to the surefire smashes now as we kick the top 25 off with James Morrison's Please Don't Stop The Rain. This was the follow up to James' HUGE hit 'Broken Strings' and did nowhere near as well (partly coz BS was still a huge airplay staple at that point) it peaked at #33 and spent 3 weeks in the top 40 and 9 in the top 75, so actually not that bad all things considered. It's such a great song though! Another one I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was done by Ryan! Up next we have the opening track to Taylor Swift's mega album '1989' Welcome To New York. Pop at it's finest! Punchy and catchy and a great introduction to the album. This spent a sole week in the top 75 (actually top40) as it reached #39 on the back off it being an instant grat for her album iirc. Woulda made a great single choice. At #23 is Beyoncé with the lead single from her surprise self-titled album drop XO. The production on this song is sublime and it is a HUGE highlight for her career imo. I actually think I contemplated on giving this my 11 at one point (but I couldn't not give it to 'Say (All I Need)'). So beautiful and strikingly euphoric. The lowest score it received was a -1 where 2 forum members gave it that score, but apart from those it received a 6 or higher! To quote 'Mean Girls' BOO YOU WHORES!!!! drama.gif

OneRepublic's own, Wherever I Go is next to fall out. A surprisingly solid showing for this tbh. I wasn't quite expecting it to be as high as this. Especially over a fair amount that failed before it. A good song, but they have far, FAR better on 'Oh My My' though, including the follow up singles! This did far better in the charts than I thought it did too LMAO. It peaked at #29 and spent 4 weeks top 40, but 14 weeks (!) top 75! Just missing out on the top 20 is Demi Lovato's pop banger, Neon Lights. It was a flash in the pan hit in the UK charts where it peaked at #15 and spent just 3 weeks in the top 75. A bop to say the least. I'm surprised to find out it only spent 3 weeks in the UK top 75! I thought it did a bit better than that, oops.

UK T75 CHART RUN: 3-3-6-14-19-36-31-38-41-58-68-55-38-58->14 Weeks
Highest: Infludexton* & Mack. 🐠 (10) + ...ready for it (09)
Lowest: Cameron 🐠 (05.5) + Dobbo & Hauspital* (06)

We kick start the top 20 with FOUR OneRepublic entries </3 and one UK #1 for Ellie Goulding. At number 20 is All The Right Moves, which is the lead single from their 2nd album 'Waking Up'. Lots of strings and a slight pop-rock edge. This quirky little number was their only hit from their 2nd album, which is a shame coz it's such a brilliant album and is home to one of their signature songs, 'Secrets'. It peaked at #26, 3 weeks into it's chart run. A nice little hit, but probably not what they were hoping for coming off the back of a successful era!

At number 19 we have the second single from their 4th album 'Oh My My'... the infectious Kids. A song that really should have been huge, imo. Such a good song and had all the makings of being a hit, but instead it limped to a peak of #58 after 10 weeks since it got released. Had this been the lead single instead of 'Wherever I Go', I wonder if this would have been a bigger hit? Hmm..

Right in the middle of this OneRepublic sandwich is Ellie Goulding's first UK #1 smash hit, Burn. A catchy song but it still feels a bit hollow/in it's demo form. This went on to be a massive hit for Ellie, giving her her first UK #1 single where it stayed at the top for 3 consecutive weeks. I can definitely see why it was a big hit, but I would have liked a bit more in the production. It's currently going viral on Tik Tok due to people drawing a moustache on their faces and surprising their partners by turning around and miming the word... "We" at the start of the song, to make it look like they're saying "Oui" :') It's a stupid meme, but humorous.

Continuing the OneRepublic bloodbath and finishing at #17, is a song that charted in it's Alesso remix form If I Lose Myself. I enjoy the remix but the original is the version I prefer and go back to the most. This was actually the lead, before 'Counting Stars' ended up blowing up after this did nothing in it's original form, so they enquired the help from Alesso to remix the song where it went on to peak at #8 here in the UK and become a nice hit for them following 'Counting Stars'.

Finally at #16 is Love Runs Out. This was the lead single to the re-issue of their 3rd album 'Native' and followed up 'If I Lose Myself'. There is something to this song that makes it pretty much 'Counting Stars' younger relative. There's a bit more punch to this though I think, and it was clearly a winning formula as this went on to peak at #3 and had a nice top 40 run (bouncing back a bit after that 19-36 drop).

All these OneRepublic songs sounds pretty much samey. Only Counting Stars stands out.
Glad to see XO out.
Would be more happier to see Welcome To New York, Neon Lights and Do It Well higher!
