How ridiculous, just 4 additions.
I was hoping to see Philip George/Dragonette, I hope this doesn't become another Blonde/Karen Harding. |

Been loving 'Romeo' for a few months and wondered if any radio station would actually pick it up Yeh Chairlift is fantastic - a personal chart no1 for me - good to see it in there even if it's only the INMWT list. Annie Macs been playing it quite a bit - that's how I got into it. |

Awful update. Lol at Chairlift on the In New Music playlist, they've been around for like 10 years.

Yay to DNCE, Years & Years and ZAYN going a-list and Blonde going b-list. Hope Meghan Trainor can go a or b-list next week. Shame Sigma are out. Should be Lukas Graham out instead

The Frances song is gorgeous, would love to see it catch on but I don't see it happening.

So I guess the reasoning for the minimal playlist update is because we're getting a new one next Tuesday, so this one will only be in effect for 5 days anyway.

Yeh I think so - will be interesting to see if its the same additions of songs to the C-B-A lists or a complete change in how songs are rotated at the station?!

Wishful thinking, but it'd be nice to see an entire shake up. Possibly a bigger playlist, and maybe seeing songs go down the playlist, as with Radio 2, after they've peaked as more on air songs going straight onto the B/A list. |

Possibly a bigger playlist, and maybe seeing songs go down the playlist, after they've peaked as more on air songs going straight onto the B/A list. I can't see the shake up being that radical. I think at the very least they'll add songs as soon as they're released rather than waiting a couple of weeks. Would be nice to have more songs going straight to the B/A list but I don't really see the point of moving songs down the playlist. |

They did used to move songs up and down the playlist up until the early 2000s.
The article about the changes did state that there is a new head of music so you never know and it would be appropriate considering the nature of the charts/releases now. I would abv be happy with the change. Also a bigger playlist like in the late 90s which used to have 20 songs on the A/B lists would be quality. A policy of dropping songs in the top 10 from the A list would be better to stop songs hanging around as much due to the slowness of the biggest hits with streaming would be encouraged. After all radio 1 is about creating hits and once they are hits they should make way for other tracks. |
