Hungary clearly the faves here
This has the potential to be a classic group but I feel the games will be cagey. What's the bets Portugal qualify with 3 draws again! |

The 4 best performing third placed teams do yes. Which basically means if you get 3 points you're probably going through.

I said Scotland was the strongest potential 4th-place finisher, but you'd have to put Hungary into that argument. In literally any other group, they contend for 2nd. It'd take a miracle for them to get results against all three or even two out of the other three, but they will be a pain in arse for everyone else in the group. The team(s) that doesn't get the full 3 against Hungary in a raucous Budapest atmosphere, unlikely to be Germany since their match is in Munich, could be in trouble. So I'm looking at Portugal.

Remember Portugal and Hungary played to a 3-3 draw in EURO 2016, so we could be in for a wild one.

I think Portugal will win this easily. Hopefully Portugal, France and Germany all make it to the knockouts!

This group reminds me of Group C at Euro 2008 where you had 3 big contenders (Netherlands, Italy & France) and one perceived minnow in Romania. Romania managed to draw their first 2 games to give themselves a genuine shot at qualifying. I'm rooting for Hungary!

Roanldo missed a golden opportunity, nothing new there, they had so many chances, they left big clear gaps which they couldn't utilise on.

If this holds up, cue Ronaldo pissing and moaning about Hungary not "playing to win", "playing scared', etc. ala his comments after the draw with Iceland in 2016.
