DECEMBER 2-4

1 Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them $5,721,394
2 Moana $2,779,058
3 Sully $2,274,496
4 Allied $853,020
5 Pitbull. Niebezpieczne Kobiety $580,926
6 Arrival $494,942
7 Trolls $406,894
8 Bad Santa 2 $350,106
9 The Edge of Seventeen $347,682
10 Bleed for This $319,469

A great result for whatever that Pitbull thing is, only Odeon's seem to be screening it but that isn't a bad total really!

Also pleased to see that HP is still king over here at least in the UK, Moana didn't even come close! Hoping it gets another week before Rogue One comes and destroys all competition of course.

Taking over this whilst Josh does the US version biggrin.gif

December 9-11

01 Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them / £2.7m (£42.3m total)
02 Moana / £1.9m (£4.76m total)
03 Sully: Miracle on the Hudson / £1.21m (£4.3m total)
04 Office Christmas Party / £1.19m (includes £288k in previews)
05 Allied / £361k (£3.63m total)

Arrival / £264,576 (£8.6m total)
Trolls / £245,965 (£22.53m total)
Snowden / £208,257
Bad Santa 2 / £153,561 (£1.73m total)
A United Kingdom / £147,244 (£1.86m total)
The Birth of a Nation / £132,924
Bleed For This / £81,676 (£470,853 total)
The Edge of Seventeen / £74,382 (£460,231 total)

Some other totals:
Finding Dory / £42.8m
Doctor Strange / £22.9m

Strong hold for Sully and especially Moana! Surprised by how well Sully has performed, I know it did well in the US but it's about a US hero and I don't remember seeing the trailer for it in the cinema.

At the other end of the scale, Bleed For This has been very disappointing, especially if you compare it to other recent boxing movies like Creed and Southpaw. And lol at Birth Of a Nation.

I'm disappointed that Bridget Jones' Baby probably won't finish the year as the biggest movie with Fantastic Beasts quickly catching up. sad.gif

Was going to see The Birth of a Nation on Sunday but ended up being sick that night so spent the night at home sad.gif I was looking forward to it after the early great reviews but it just seems to completely fallen off the map now, definitely not expecting any awards nominations for that anymore. Shame for Armie Hammer, was looking like he'd get some critical acclaim for the first time in a while sad.gif

Rogue One ended up being the biggest release of 2016. Here's the latest chart and figures. Not seen a chart published for the Christmas weekend.

New Years Day releases, 'Silence', 'A Monster Calls' & 'Assassin's Creed' will count towards next week.

01 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story / £5.96m (£53.96m total after 18 days)
02 Why Him? / £2.18m (£2.53m total)
03 Passengers / £1.9m (£8m total)
04 Monster Trucks / £1.73m (£2.01m total)
05 Moana / £1.62m (£14.32m total)

Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them / £1.52m (£51.4m total)
Collateral Beauty / £1.34m
Ballerina / £593,910 (£2.18m total)
Sully: Miracle on the Hudson / £248k (£7.04m total)

Other totals:
The BFG / £30.74m
Arrival / £9.14m
Office Christmas Party / £3.08m

The Phantom Menace / £56.41m
Revenge of the Sith / £39.43m
Attack of the Clones / £37.55m

Deathly Hallows: Part 1 / £52.5m

Daddy's Home / £17.4m
The Imitation Game / £16.4m

Ahhh I love seeing good figures, even for Monster Trucks which looks like total trash to me from the trailer laugh.gif

Very good numbers for Rogue One! It's such a good movie so that makes it all the better.

That's amazing for 'Assassin's Creed'! ohmy.gif Even with the previews! I doubt it'll hold up, although considering it's numbers after it's preview week, it's performing solidly!

Also astounded that 'Rogue One' is the 13th highest grossing film of all time! It doesn't feel anywhere near as big as what 'Force Awakens' did! ohmy.gif

Absolutely brilliant result. What did 'Mamma Mia' and 'Les Miserables' open with? MM had amazing longevity, but that opened pretty big too, right?

Les Mis £8.1 and Mamma Mia £6.5 I think! So the fact for an original musical it is even getting close to them is fantastic!

January 13-15

01 La La Land / £6.58m (includes £943,751 from previews)
02 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story / £1.76m (£62.73m total) **12th biggest film of all time**
03 Moana / £1.05m (£17.58m total)
04 Assassin's Creed / £948,579 (£6.95m total)
05 Passengers / £743k (£11.85m total)

Manchester By The Sea / £729,477
Live By Night / £695k
Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them / £566k (£54m total)
Why Him? / £369,115 (£4.59m total)
Ballerina / £316,376 (£3.91m total)
Underworld: Blood Wars / £314k
Monster Trucks / £312k (£3.25m total)
A Monster Calls / £310,917 (£2.57m total)
Silence / £150,143 (£2.03m total)

Other totals:
Les Mis / £40.8m

Trolls / £23.61m
Collateral Beauty / £2.19m

Gone Baby Gone / £1.87m

Screendaily estimates that La La Land could go on to do about £33m in total if it follows a similar trajectory to Les Mis! And it was the widest ever release for Lionsgate (wider than The Hunger Games movies? ohmy.gif)

People I have spoken to that bought the soundtrack and have seen the film have pretty much all said they're going to see it again. So I think the fact people are willing to go and watch it again is a good sign about it's longevity!

La La Land's final opening is now £6.596m meaning that it has beat Mamma Mia's opening at the last second just!! Did not expect to see that happening at all! ohmy.gif

That's brilliant news. Now, let's just hope it holds up as well as 'Mamma Mia' did! laugh.gif (It won't. 'Mamma Mia' was in the cinemas up until the DVD release!)
