On last nights new chart countdown Jameela got it wrong again.
She said that Lilly Wood & The Prick got the highest new entry when in fact it was Maroon 5. She should have said Lilly Wood was the highest climber as it has spent 3 weeks on the chart and climbed from #115. If they don't want to mention anything outside the Top 100 she should have said that Lilly Wood is the biggest climber this week. She didn't even give them their full name as if there was no band. Their official name is Lilly Wood & The Prick & Robin Schultz This post has been edited by euro music: 1st September 2014, 10:06 AM |

Their official name it Lilly Wood & The Prick & Robin Schultz Anything new to the top 40 is counted as a new entry in the R1 chart show. That's the way it has always been. The song is officially credited to Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz in the UK. The band had to be renamed to Lilly Wood because the word 'prick' cannot be said on daytime radio. |

Radio 1 have pretty much always announced new entries to the top 40 as new entries though, and it's fair enough really. They did go through a phase of announcing them as "chart entries" on TOTP if they'd climbed up from the top 40 (don't know about R1 show)
There is no mention of Prick on the UK version of the single or chart credit. |

And anyway it's no news that the name of the band is censored in the UK, it's not down to Jameela to be fair. |

Something that is new to the top40 it is a new entry in the Radio 1 chart show, It was always like that, so that wasn't a mistake.
Case and thread closed. |
