It's a second week on top for Arcade, meaning poor ol Mark Ronson & Lykke Li get 3 weeks stuck at 2. Eurovision songs consolidate their hold throughout the chart, and it remains an expanded 80 due to more great new tracks out. Caravan Palace climb to 3, while massive climbs for SEEB & Highasakite to enter the top from outside the 40, and Sam Bluer climbs to 9. Lana Del Ray gets a great climb to 13 with her Summertime rewrite, still clocking up regular high chart slots several years on from her debut, Jax Jones & co go top 20, as does Taylor Swift and Brendan whose run of hits is Lana Del Ray-ish in terms of years, longer for PATD. ABC get a 5th track from absolute classic album The Lexicon Of Love to go top 20 - some 37 years since the last one - MARUV and Pnau go top 40, Taron Egerton gets a top 40 with an Elton song as they both climb with a new combo, and climbers galore outside the top 40 in a massively busy chart. New entries from Keith Urban, clearly all pop not country right now, Bananarama's 3rd off the new album to chart, Will Young's 2nd, Kaiser Chief's return after a couple of years away, and a 14-year chart run since they started with a couple of chart-toppers in 2005. Emma BUnton is spicefully back with a Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell cover, Vampire Weekend, Jess Glynne, Jax Jones getting a 2nd in the chart, all return, while Richard Hawley is back after 4-years away and extends his chart run to 17 years. Bowie returns after being released and making the sales charts, 3rd-time round for Boys Keep Swinging his 1979 cross-dressing gem, and Bog George & Culture Club sneak in with a duet with Gladys Knight, certainly one I never expected to see! Runaway Train means George gets his first chart entry for 5 years, Culture Club get their first for 20 years, and Gladys for getting on 30 years (barring oldies)! Culture Club first charted 37 years ago, Gladys 47 years ago, though her career predates my personal charts and she def would have charted in 1967 had I started earlier. 1 1 1 3 ARCADE Duncan Laurence 350100 2 2 2 6 LATE NIGHT FEELINGS Mark Ronson featuring Lykke Li 435200 3 7 3 3 MIRACLE Caravan Palace 164000 4 3 3 2 SPIRIT IN THE SKY Keiino 150000 5 6 5 2 ZERO GRAVITY Kate Miller-Heidke 115000 6 4 4 5 HELLO SUNSHINE Bruce Springsteen 196400 7 8 7 2 TRUTH (RADIO EDIT) Chingiz 98000 8 43 8 2 FREE TO GO Seeb & Highasakite 61500 9 19 9 3 BODY HIGH Sam Bluer 76200 10 5 1 6 MEDELLIN Madonna & Maluma 531000 11 9 9 4 HUNGRY CHILD Hot Chip 134500 12 10 3 5 IT’S BEEN A LONG, LONG TIME Harry James & His Orchestra & Kitty Kallen 274000 13 37 13 2 DOIN’ TIME Lana Del Ray 49300 14 12 8 5 JENNY OF OLDSTONES (GAME OF THRONES) Florence + The Machine 127700 15 29 15 5 ALL DAY AND NIGHT Jax Jones, Martin Solveig (aka Europa) & Madison Beer 87300 16 11 1 6 TIME IN A TREE Raleigh Ritchie 500000 17 21 17 5 ME! Hi John!
Great to see Arcade on top, it's really been growing on me over the past week so will almost certainly climb in my chart. Nice to see Truth and Spirit in the Sky so high as well, both great songs from this year's contest. All the newies down near the bottom, some good ones there as well! Expect the Kaisers to enter very high in my chart next week, This Life and One Touch both very good as well. Great chart |

Hello John!
The eurovision songs are great, so happy about "Arcade", "Spirit In The Sky" and "Truth" in the top 10! I also like the big gains for "All Day And Night", "3 Nights", "She Got Me", "Like It", "Soldi" and "Storm" and the debuts for "Record Collection", "This Life" and "One Touch"! Great chart! |

Glad you liking all the eurovis tracks, biggest I've been on so many in a few years I think! The kaisers is a fab single, very La Roux Bulletproof, rocketing up my new chart. I'm a bit late into This Life, but it's a goodie too, so much stuff everything is 10 to 20 places lower than they deserve! Cheers! |

Yay another vote for all the eurovis tracks, has been quite the good contest I must say. Glad you like Springsteen, I thought I was the only one on Buzzjack for a while there Purple Disco machine is great too, it's just not moving from sheer numbers of great records about at the moment! It really is well worth a good top 20 placing (along with everything else between 21 and 40!) Shocking Blue got booted out from another oldies chart invasion this week, sadly, but it is the 3rd time round for the track, bit of a classic! cheers |
