Oh dear, that went rather awfully didn't it, how saddening, I loved this entry :'( S'pose I was within a few points of qualifying, but still that's one of my worst performances in a long time eh, perhaps it is more suited to UP. Thanks again to the people who voted for my entry. I have to confess that I had an added reason for entering it. Obviously, the main reason was that I think it is a really good song. However, I would probably never have heard it if not for the fact that the keyboard player is my cousin. He teaches in Istanbul, which is where the band is based. They are a mix of Turkish and British members.

Most of Gabriel (my cousin)'s previous musical ventures have been somewhat weird. This, on the other hand, is something I could imagine hearing on the radio if the right people became aware of it.

Thanks to those who voted for Doop! I actually anticipated the DNQ to an extent, I'm much more disappointed at Avalonia, Tartford, and The Actual Republic of Bellamia not going through, and extremely surprised at Triangledonia though I agree it's too identical to their previous entries.

I was in 42 consecutive finals between 13 and 54, and then my floppy ways set in with a hat-trick of DNQs *.*

Then again, it was much easier to qualify back then as the contest was smaller and a lot of those entries were AQs because of winning or default because of the One Big Final format.

Odd as it may seem, I'd actually never been more confident of qualifying than I was when sending this as I could easily imagine others taking to it, but that confidence was gradually eroded with the DNQ predictions (other than Cody's and Rich's), bad odds and the complete hype vacuum around it lol. Sofi Tukker is now the fifth 'surprise' qualifier for Desbuanda (out of nine in total, excluding the AQ), after Heathers, Nothing But Thieves, MONAKR and Steven A. Clark. Definitely the most satisfying way to go through to the final so I'm not complaining!

Also, I thought 'Tequila' was a dead cert Top 5!
