The moment y'all have been awaiting for the past week.
After careful consideration the moderating team have decided to introduce a new rule: "With immediate effect, The first and second singles from any artist with an AF on Buzzjack are banned." Exceptions will be made to this rule for artists that are deemed not to have popular AF's such as Delta Goodrem and Beverley Knight. In addition to this, artists without AF's who have highly anticipated comebacks whose songs are viewed as being against the values of the contest are also to be banned. This so far applies to Susan Boyle and Alexandra Burke. Cheryl Cole is counted as being part of the GA AF and her first 2 singles are covered by this ban. ---------------------------------------------- Please feel free to discuss this rule and nominate exemptions. Tyron i'm sure will be able to word this a bit better when he appears. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away. |

I personally had you down as one who wouldn't have been happy with this tbh. The reason we are doing this is to stop the contest becoming another Multichart, and to encourage people to search for more unknown music which fits in with the contests main aim |

My next entry is FAIRLY cheap but it doesn't fit this criteria so I should be alright. Well that's if I even get there first.

That's actually fair enough. I'm happy with that!
I'm presuming bands like Placebo & blink-182 etc... are excluded from the ban? As they're not all that popular here on BJ, despite having forums... |

Sounds good to me but I wouldn't have sent anything that meets this criteria anyway.

I don't understand why this is necessary... Although strongly against cheap entries and very much for new music being brought in to this contest I do not understand why it is necessary to BAN any entries.
My policy has always been let people send what they want to. If BuzzJack decides some entries are too cheap then they will not be voted for. |

Yeah; Placebo, Delta, Bev and a few others will be excluded from the ban and in their place we include Susan Boyle, Alex Burke and we'll add a few others as and when I think I'm going to have to change my stance on AFs now. KEEP THEM ALL!! |

well it won't get rid of all cheapness.
So with the new rules is it just the artists first 2 singles ever? If so you shouldn't call it comeback singles? This post has been edited by About a Steve: 13th September 2009, 10:40 PM |

What I don't understand is.. Your saying that all AF forums are banned from entering thier first or second single, yet your allow Beverley knight or Blink 182?
Why is it like that- It's like your saying you can't enter Girls Aloud because they are "popular" and have an AF but you can enter Beverley Knight because she is "not popular" and has an AF. But Beverley has won the contest before and Girls Aloud haven't. I don't see the logic in this. If your going to ban AF's ban them all I say.. |
