New York City and I Was Gonna Cancel are 2 songs that i would see as not the most popular among the fanbase.
Which of the 2 songs do you prefer?

My opinion is both are poor.
As album only tracks they would be possibly passable.
From the 2 songs, i prefer I Was Gonna Cancel.

I think IWGC has this, particularly the rocking Moto Blanco remix. I do have some fond memories of it in 2014 (although it should never have been a single), but 'New York City' didn't really have a lot of mileage for me and I got bored of it very quickly.

'New York City' gets my vote, definitely feel its the better and far more listenable of the 2 tracks. Dunno why its not that liked as personally I find it quite fun & catchy, sure its nowhere near one of her best, but its still decent enough.

I don't feel that New York City suits Kylie at all, it has a cheap vibe to it.

With NYC not selected for the album it was recorded for was a sign it wasnt the best sing to promote a greatest hits cd that is packed with amazing songs from a 30 year career.

I got the feeling that the disco style it was originally incepted in didn't quite suit the sound of Golden and probably wouldn't have fit (although I guess there are one or two tracks on there that sound completely different to the rest of the album anyway).

I think that was the reason she cited for it not making the album either.

I will say though, on the studio version of NYC it does kind of feel like they didn't finish producing it or mixing it properly. The sound levels throughout the track are a bit off, particularly in that bridge part before the chorus.

Possibly a better production would have improved NYC but i cant help but feel it is just a very poor and cheap song regardless of the production.

For me it's a crap song, barely strong enough as a b side for a single let alone an actual single. IWGC would have been ok as an album only track.

Both songs do have their own little fanbases.
I think the result is in line with how i expected so far.
