Love it when the best song wins! STM is quite easily my favourite Killers single and up there with my favourites from the whole decade. It's the song that got me into the Killers and it still brings back memories of the time.

What a fantastic no1 and a great discography overall! Really think their later albums are not given the love they deserve, they have some great songs on them.
The opening 3 albums lead singles really helped them become the worlds biggest band for a time - Mr Brightside/When You We’re Young/Human but it makes you think did R1 drop them too quickly considering other bands got continued support for much longer? The Man was the last lead to be playlisted, wasn’t it? Bands like Coldplay/Muse and others stayed on there a lot longer? What does everyone else think? |

Muse were dropped by Radio 1 only a year later, 'Simulation Theory' was their last album to get support from them. I'd love if if they were supported for longer haha, but I get why they weren't. Pretty much all bands from that period have been phased out by R1 now, I think Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and The Wombats are the only 2000s bands still being supported there - and I imagine The xx too when they return. |

Yeh but I guess Muse started off from 99/2000 so had longer. Just would rank the Killers as up there with Coldplay as one of the great acts of the 21st century so far. Coldplay seem to hang on because they have went so pop in the last couple of eras. |

Great winner. Somebody Told Me was always my favourite from their debut, and it’s only in recent years that I’ve come to appreciate When You Were Young a bit more than it. Both a clear top 2 faves for me though so glad to see them do well.
