I'm told no one wanted to open this thread so here you go x
Discuss whatever floppy thing Lithuania are sending in here. Although here are some facts: QUOTE Lithuanian broadcaster LRT has announced the rules of the national selection for 2015 today. Much like last year, the format will stay similar. 12 artists will be competing with 12 songs in a 10-week marathon, the first 2 of which will be dedicated to Lithuanian songs and World hits. The song shall be decided on February 14th while the singer will be selected on February 21st. The selection will use a 50/50 jury and televote mix through the competition. The deadline to enter is December 15th. There a 2 main differences this year. The first is that only Lithuanian citizens or those with permanent residence are allowed to perform. The songwriters from abroad are allowed to enter. Another difference is the right for the artist to keep the entered song for themselves until the end unless they are eliminated while the song advances. In such event, LRT would ask the artist to allow the song to compete further. In the event the song reaches the final, the artist is expected to allow all finalists to perform it. (Source) QUOTE The national Lithuanian broadcaster LRT is filming the first selection show tonight thus revealing the participating artists. Most are familiar names that are coming back from previous selections. Here is the list of all 12 artists:
1. Liepa Mondeikaitė 2. Neringa Šiaudikytė 3. Edgaras Lubys 4. Vilija Pilibaitytė-Mia 5. Vaidas Baumila 6. Monika Linkytė 7. Reda Striškaitė 8. Milita Daikerytė 9. Jurgis Bruzga 10. Wilma La 11. Tadas Juodsnukis 12. “Rollikai” (Source) |

'This Time' has won today's song selection final, and will be sung by the winner of next week's artist selection final which will be contested by Mia, Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila.

I listened to Vaidas' version of the song last night (as people say that his version of this song is the best) and it's quite fantastic, would easily be the best Lithuanian entry ever and probably will be unless the other two versions are substantially weaker unless I'm forgetting someone obvious. The Baltics could all be top 10 contenders in Eurovision this year if they choose wisely this weekend!
It's got that Mumford & Sons sound that Firelight had last year, and I think this could be just about as good as the amazing 'Coming Home'. |

Lithuania · Artist Final 21st February 2015 Watch the selection on the official LRT website! 7pm UK Time / 8pm Central European Time / 9pm Lithuania Time (Programme scheduled to last 1 hour 40 minutes) Running Order Click ► to listen to the songs live! 01 | ► Mia - This Time 02 | ► Monika Linkytė & Vaidas Baumila - This Time What's all the drama? Following the victory of 'This Time', the writer of the song Vytauto Bikaus was "very impressed and thrilled" when Vaidas & Monika performed the song as a duet earlier in the selection process and has expressed a desire to see them both perform it as a duet in the final. It has also been reported that Mia has said that she will perform with the group Night Life, and she has also said to the media that she does not like the chosen song 'This Time', something Vaidas argued against saying he does support the song. Therefore it has yet to be confirmed who is actually performing with who! Voting 50% jury vote and 50% televote. The jury vote will consist of four juries, one from host country Lithuania and three from Latvia, Georgia and The Netherlands. In the event of a tie when the votes have been combined, the jury vote will decide the final winner. Who are the favourites? According to NicerOdds.com as of a week ago, Unibet offered odds that suggested Mia is the favourite followed fairly closely by Monika Linkytė with Vaidas Baumila a fairly clear outsider. However, these odds don't seem to be on Unibet anymore - instead the only odds they offer are for "Monika Linkytė & Vaidas Baumila to represent Lithuania as a duet and kiss each other on stage during the contest" (they did this earlier in the selection process) - and this has odds of 7/20 indicating that they believe this is the most likely scenario! I loved Vaidas' version of the song, and is definitely the strongest version of the three. I also really like the Vaidas & Monika duet, there's very obvious chemistry there - I don't quite prefer it to the Vaidas solo version but as long as Vaidas is involved in winning somehow then I'll be happy!
It seems if this duet doesn't go ahead then we could end up with Mia winning, so maybe it's a good thing that it's a possibility as the duet has loads of YouTube views! |

Mia & Vaidas finished 2nd and 3rd respectively last year behind Vilija which only adds to the drama!

I've updated the post above, it seems like they are just having two versions of the song, Mia solo and Monika/Vaidas duet!

I've had both streams going at the same time! (Estonia and Lithuania that is, not Melodifestivalen)
