Can guarantee the disasters don't stop there.

Posted by: Mart!n 23rd January 2017, 08:33 PM

Bloody hell... I have got suspicions on the train now, if the bridge is damaged. I don't know how Billy and Jay fit in at the moment. There is only 3 episodes of EE this week due to the FA Cup football match on Friday.

Posted by: gooddelta 23rd January 2017, 08:37 PM

Oh my ohmy.gif Yeah there must be something going on with the train on the bridge, I thought that right from the establishing shot of the bridge and the tube going across, not to mention Shirley et al randomly being shown inside a tube. Will definitely be interesting to see how Billy and Jay are involved, it didn't look like they were anywhere near the scene.

Posted by: Cameron 23rd January 2017, 08:39 PM

Going to do some predictions:

Keegan - Dead
Shakil - Possibly Dead
Louise - Fine
Denise - Seriously Injured
Bex - Seriously Injured
Shirely - Fine
Tina or Sylvie will die

Maybe one of the extra's on the market will die with either Kush / Martin / Donna injured

Posted by: lewistgreen 23rd January 2017, 08:41 PM

Maybe Billy and Jay were a bit of a red herring to make us think they could be involved when really it was just an opportunity to share a scene off square.

Posted by: liamk97 23rd January 2017, 08:42 PM

I loved how all the irrelevant characters turned up in today's episode! laugh.gif Especially Johnny just randomly showing up despite not being seen all day!

Posted by: Cameron 23rd January 2017, 08:44 PM

Imagine they killed of Jonny *.*

Posted by: JosephStyles 23rd January 2017, 08:45 PM

I couldn't deal with losing both Johnny and Paul in less than a year tbh

Posted by: burbe 23rd January 2017, 08:46 PM

That was quite intense in the moments as the bus started to come round the corner! It was so well filmed, not ott, just right for once ohmy.gif

I think Keegan, Kush and Tina are most likely. Bit confused by Billy / Jay, it did feel like they were trying to build up to Jay dying? But Stratford isn't that near to where Walford is supposed to be set.

QUOTE(Cameron @ Jan 23 2017, 08:39 PM) *
Tina or Sylvie will die

I'm guessing one of those will die, its the poor timing of that photograph.

Also depends on the upper deck of the bus, as the front will be mostly damaged, the group of boys were seating at the back of the bus.

I can't see both Carmels' boys both getting killed off, maybe Shakil, it be too much her for her to cope with.

Posted by: HausofSZA 23rd January 2017, 08:49 PM

Johnny appearing so randomly was hilarious. He was just like "oh the director has told me to walk over here so i'll do it but i'm not sure why....." *GETS CRUSHED BY BUS* please~

Posted by: Cameron 23rd January 2017, 08:50 PM

when looking at the bus stunt, Louise is 100% fine. I think the fact that the boys were standing was a problem as they could easily stumble to the front of the bus

Posted by: lewistgreen 23rd January 2017, 08:52 PM

I was expecting The Vic to be involved based on the teaser trailer that aired over the weekend, but then maybe that's to come?

Posted by: Liаm 23rd January 2017, 08:52 PM

I am gagging for Jasmine Armfield to have a big storyline with a serious injury, I think she will be incredible. Looking at potential deaths, I think if there are any that aren't a market extra like Shrimpy or someone irrelevant and not really in it like Keegan (I feel he will die because why else bring him in and have him there etc), my money is on one of Donna, Shakil, Tina or Sylvie. All somewhat disposable although I do love Donna as a character, but all 4 would affect a number of characters and give them something to do in the aftermath. I am thinking Tina or Sylvie will die to give the Carters a part to play in this, rather than Lee because that would mean Linda would have to come back and she won't just yet, whereas if Sylvie or Tina died obviously she'd care but she'd just be prioritising her own mother over the in-laws.

I really liked the little touches that keep us wondering who might die or be injured with little clues - Louise wishing Keegan dead, the ongoing Fox drama, Bex's insecurities, the Carters getting one could be one last photo etc., obviously some red herrings but all of it keeps me guessing.

Also, Johnny's face as he saw the bus coming !!!! Good lord what a horrible actor.

Posted by: gooddelta 23rd January 2017, 09:16 PM

Also, the constant stuff about Donna's wheelchair makes me think that she couldn't move out of the way in time because of the dodgy wheels.

Posted by: burbe 23rd January 2017, 09:20 PM

Apparently the best is yet to come. Basically confirming the Tube to derail? Or maybe the bus will explode?

Posted by: Mart!n 23rd January 2017, 09:28 PM

Since this is going to be played out within 3 weeks, its going to be interesting how it all plays out, we might not get all the deaths all in one episode, but I think most of the regulars will probably be injured and scared for life, I'm assuming it be some of the extras that we don't know that well are probably the dead. As far as I know its only Lee and Aunt Babe are leaving at some point, but I do think Sylvie is gone out of the ones that are on the tube, and Lee could be on it which we haven't seen yet.

Posted by: jase. 23rd January 2017, 09:29 PM

I'm BEGGING for Johnny's death.

If a Carter were to die it wouldn't be Lee or Johnny because there is no way they'd get around Linda not coming back. I'd bank on Sylvia since a tube derailment is totes happening. Praying for Donna to be safe.

Johnny doesn't need to die tho. He could just get horrifically disfigured and the plastic surgeons can turn him back into Sam Strike.

Tbf they don't really have disasters in EE compared to other soaps, if you look at Hollyoaks having explosions all the time etc. and Emmerdale with their yearly big stunts laugh.gif

Yes laugh.gif

But omg what a stunning edge of your seat episode. Cannot wait for Thursday!

Posted by: Mart!n 24th January 2017, 08:01 PM

I must admit the beginning was brilliant, how it was filmed, with all the slow mo stuff, it had me glued to the set throughout the whole episode from start to finish. I didn't think they would lift the bus though as the bus was wedged under that bridge. I like to know what is going to happen on the tube now.

Posted by: burbe 24th January 2017, 08:02 PM

That episode went very quick, sign of a good one! I loved the Tina, Shirley & Sylvie scenes as a bit of light relief as well. Very well shot and edited from start to finish, I just think the lifting up a bus might have been too much on the sensational side of things. But it was nice to see everyone come together to help.

The episode zoomed by it seemed! Brilliant stuff.

I didn't even think about Whitney throughout and kept ticking off people as they were safe. ANYONE BUT HER THOUGH let it be Lee with her phone under there.. Can't lose Whit sad.gif

Babe was sheer brilliance as always too laugh.gif <3

I DONT WANT IT TO BE WHITNEY PLEASE BE LEE WITH HER PHONE...

Posted by: jase. 24th January 2017, 08:09 PM

Whitney's not dead. It'll be a twist and it'll end up being Lee. He'll have her phone because of his jealousy issues - remember him asking who she was texting the other night?

Posted by: liamk97 24th January 2017, 08:09 PM

It was a very good episode and I had my doubts about it. Nothing felt corny or cringy or anything of the sort which can sometimes happen when you have such a high energy episode. Perhaps the lifting of a however-many-tonne-bus was a little bit of a belief suspension but the way it was done with the strong community feel pulled it off. Lots of great small touches, scenes where dialogue wasn't required, the camera work; really enjoyed everything about the episode.

The Tina, Shirley and Sylvie scenes worked well as comedy relief and I'm usually not a fan of those types of scenes. The part where they were speculating about what the incident could have been felt very realistic - stuff like "maybe it was a terrorist attack" and "maybe some selfish git jumped" aren't the sort of things you'd usually hear on a soap when they're in fact quite honest, real things to say.

Posted by: jase. 24th January 2017, 08:10 PM

But CHRIST, what a f***ing episode. Absolutely edge of your seat stuff, and I LOVE how it was filmed.

Posted by: Mack 24th January 2017, 08:11 PM

Get rid of that chav, Keegan

Best episode of EastEnders for a long time.

Posted by: jase. 24th January 2017, 08:12 PM

On a lighter note, Shirley's expression in the pic with Tina and Sylvie had me absolutely HOWLING with laughter rotf.gif Then the next minute I was all cry.gif because Lacey Turner is TOO good of an actress.

Posted by: Mart!n 24th January 2017, 08:12 PM

The most annoying thing in that whole episode was that kid taking photographs, and pillaging in the shop, I really wanted to give him a slap. biggrin.gif

Posted by: gooddelta 24th January 2017, 08:14 PM

When were these episodes filmed? In the last couple of weeks? (just thinking because of Castle On The Hill being played on the radio, unless that was a more recently added in scene).

It was really gripping, a fantastic episode.

Posted by: Count Olaf 24th January 2017, 08:32 PM

Tonights was the first episode I've seen in a long time but it was actually really well done! My main issue was that guy filming EVERYTHING though, like really??

I assume it was dubbed over the recording of the episode, so could've been added at any point really rather than it being on the radio at the time of the actual filming! I'm sure soaps often do that - didn't they play some Bowie in the Vic a few days after his passing?

Keegan while yes, totally unlikable is basically what many teenagers would do in that scenario. Gotta get those snapchat views!!1 I hope his character is building into something more because I always find rebellious youth culture an interesting area to tackle on TV!

That's what I thought, but someone earlier told me the scenes were filmed only earlier this month ohmy.gif I have no idea if there's any truth in that.

Posted by: burbe 24th January 2017, 09:02 PM

The actual stunt was definitely filmed earlier this month, although that scene could have been dubbed over and filmed earlier.

Yeah, some scenes were filmed early last week. People seem to think that it was a last minute thing that the new Head of Drama demanded in order to please people that were complaining the show was boring, but the likelyhood is that last week was the only time the stunt team were available. It just wouldn't be possible to demand a stunt on the spot, get it planned, written and filmed in the space of a week. I reckon all the non-stunt scenes, including Stacey listening to the radio, were filmed well in advance. Like Bal said, the music will have been dubbed in.

Posted by: Mack 24th January 2017, 09:49 PM

Most very likely it will be Lee. Hope Martin 3.0 is all right

Posted by: T Boy 24th January 2017, 10:00 PM

Not gonna lie, I smiled a little when it was revealed someone Mick cares about was under the bus just after he was slagging off the emergency services. How indecent and inconsiderate of them to arrive as fast as they can!

I love how Donna can be mowed down by a bus and still be the most rational person there.

Sylvie continues to be a queen of Life.

What a shame Sonia couldn't have been visiting and killed by the bus.

Posted by: T Boy 25th January 2017, 06:49 AM

Donna did refuse a hospital visit which is often a death sentence in soap.

Posted by: Mikee1981 25th January 2017, 11:22 AM

I've been really enjoying these episodes and that 'duff duff' last night was a shock moment, I cant remember the last time that a 'duff duff' surprised me as much.

I think it will be either Whitney under or someone with the same ringtone, Lee was at work as he called Whitney and Mick commented on her ringtone as she ignored his call and then she took it with her as she was off to buy Ryan an engagement gift. I dont see it being Lee as Linda would need to be back for it, unless they are going to seriously injure him put him into more depression to then kill himself or off when she returns but not sure when he is due to depart.

I like others still think lingering hidden elements may play a part Donna refusing hospital, Denise seemed far to fine to be ok and Kush as well but I am looking forward to Thursdays episode to see where it is going next

Posted by: liamk97 25th January 2017, 02:37 PM

I heard a suggestion that, following Shirley's comment that someone may have jumped on the tracks, perhaps the tube stopped due to an incident that wasn't anything to do with the bus crash and it was in fact Lee committing suicide. That'd be a pretty shocking twist but seems pretty possible the more I think of it.

Posted by: Queen LeQueefa 26th January 2017, 06:28 PM

Lmao at them lifting a 15 tonne bus!!

Let's say it was possible for thw Walford Old Gannies to do so. Lifting it would cause tge bus to tilt forward meaning anyone else trapped under the bus further up would be squashed. Then they let the bus DROP down, again meaning whoever else was trapped underneath would be instantly squashed. Now, let's take the reason WHY they lifted it: Martin sufferinf crushing wounds. When someone is crushed doctors do NOT lift the heavy object ofd like that. Their body's potassium is released in serious crushing. Removing that force without drugs results in the potassium rushing to the heart, stopping it and ends in a big ol heart attack.

Given their sudden Avengers strength, the ER lot have just killed Martin and whoever else was under the bus twice over without once checking to see if anyone else was under the bus, which should have been the first thing they did, especially after finding one person who was definitely trapped.

Posted by: HausofSZA 26th January 2017, 07:47 PM

ABI isn't accounted for yet mellow.gif

And with Max being hailed as the hero.. maybe that's the throw us off the scent when really he's missed his DAUGHTER. Also wouldn't the police have checked the scene and cleared it with no one else there?

Posted by: Mart!n 26th January 2017, 08:01 PM

That ending... interesting... like to see how it develops

Posted by: T Boy 26th January 2017, 08:03 PM

I will come for the writers if Abi was dead.

I wish the bus could have killed Mick tbh.

Posted by: Ryan. 26th January 2017, 08:08 PM

I was taking that scene as it meaning Max caused the bus crash somehow - "the pub is next on my list" now he's demolished the market. Surely impossible unless he drugged the bus driver but that's too farfetched even for Eastenders.

Posted by: liamk97 26th January 2017, 08:10 PM

I get so angry whenever Mick and Whitney share a scene because the chemistry between them, intentional or not, is so huge and I was ready to lose my shit when Mick took too long to pull away from Whitney's kiss.

The montage was pretty powerful, particularly where it focused on one of the paramedics getting emotional and a colleague supporting them by getting a coffee.

Not sure what to make of the end scene with Max but I was extremely curious throughout. Every past character was running through my head - could it be Tanya? has he made the ultimate power couple with a returned Janine?! have they decided to bring Kierston Wareing back and actually put her talents to use?

Posted by: T Boy 26th January 2017, 08:12 PM

I'm sure she'll be back, but yeah it'll still be a few years from now. I just got excited at seeing The Shard because I'm pretty sure that's where Michael proposed to Janine, so I automatically thought of her.

Posted by: burbe 26th January 2017, 08:21 PM

Someone on DS said it might be James Willmott-Brown, who is apparently a character from the 80s who raped Kathy. Maybe I'll have a quick glance at his wiki page later.

Posted by: Queen LeQueefa 26th January 2017, 09:40 PM

It was a disaster where the only casualties were someone we'd never seen before and who the show ignored, even though he was the only casualty there, and a few stalls and a wheelchair. Amazingly bad.

Posted by: King Rollo 26th January 2017, 09:51 PM

From Monday and Tuesday's episodes, there are two things I am confused about.

1. If the bus driver was barely conscious, how was he able to drive the bus around the tight corners of Albert Square. If he was able to steer it around the square, why couldn't he apply the brake?

2. There were other people downstairs other than Denise. How did they get out? Was there an emergency exit at the back? Why did they leave Denise on the floor by the front door. One of them could have pressed the emergency button to open the front door and get her out.

1) He fell unconscious just as the bus was at the Vic, with his foot falling on the accelerator and his body falling on the steering wheel. It's a typical soap coincidence but it did make sense nonetheless.

2) I didn't pick up on that actually; I guess we're meant to assume Albert Square was the last stop so it was only Denise and a handful of school kids left.

Posted by: gooddelta 26th January 2017, 10:17 PM

Walford is supposedly set somewhere between West Ham and Bow Road and the bus said it was going to Barking, so it was quite funny that only Walford residents were left on the bus when it had another four and a half miles or so left of its journey laugh.gif

Posted by: Queen LeQueefa 26th January 2017, 10:22 PM

Yup I wondered what happened to the others at the back!

Poor disaster episodes.

They also didn't understand basic physics with the lifting of the bus, making it angle near the top where Whitney was, surely killing her, then dropping it down, killing her and anyone else under it twice over. Also they didn't understand Albert Square is waaay too tight for a bus to get round, especially for someone unconscious. They also didn't understand medical FACT in how they got Martin out/ how he and Whitney escaped unscathed.

Posted by: T Boy 27th January 2017, 06:56 AM

Yeah, there's probably no way Whitney should have been able to survive a bus being dropped on her. And her spine is also fine.

Posted by: Mikee1981 27th January 2017, 10:22 AM

Well I Thought Monday was a good lead up, Tuesday was good and that end 'duff duff' was brilliant and Thursday I thought was just poor with no real suspense it just seems to of served as a catalyst to start off a lot of stories which will probably run the course of the year.

I thought Whitney kissing Mick was poor, we'd just literally seen her unable to talk in and out of conciousness and the doctor inform Mick that they need to do a scan as very concerned about a possible brain injury but next thing you know she's awake and fine talking like normal and then reacihng up and snogging Micks face off which you saw coming as soon as showed Denise walking to see Whitney. I kind of wish she'd just died or least been in coma for a bit now.

I was expecting some face from the past to appear with Max at the end although it was nice to see the shard being used and not just some seedy back street cafe, took me a while to remember where I had see the bloke before then remembered he placed the prince in dinnerladies. Not quite sure where this storyline going apart from fact Max hell bent on destroying Albert Square I think the other bloke wants to develop the area possibly he bought launderette, paying council to move market maybe needs the vic and minute mart as well.

You've got Martin and Staceys story set up for the year trying to conceive a baby and juggling her medication, Stacey is a fab character and Lacey a brilliant actress but I do wish they would stop putting her as the new Pauline just because she is now a Fowler. All we seen of her lately is in the house washing pots cooking meals.

You got Louise being a bitch to shak even though helped and saved her so she's obviously going to be falling for him and end up going behind Bex back or something similar.

I still cannot work out how Babe and Lee are leaving or even when, although I wish Babe was staying she is more evil then most characters brought in and classed as villains, the line to Sylvie making her think it was her fault was pure evil but just Babe all over.

Overall what was billed as disaster week was a mixed bag, it was obvious no-one major would die so close after Ronnie & Roxy but it certainly started a few storylines

Posted by: Liаm 27th January 2017, 02:15 PM

I agree, I always felt like it was would be likely for anyone for die. I think it was to show the community spirit, as well as that they COULD do a stunt. And it will kick off lots of stories that last a while, rather than a death than nobody mentions a week later. I mean if they've got over Ronnie and Roxy, I doubt it would have much impact if Donna or Shakil for example had died!

James Wilmot-Brown was played by William Boyd, not sure if he was in the credits last night unless the character has been re-casted. He must have aged quite a bit, if its him.

It's a different actor for sure, so either recast or someone completely different.

Posted by: liamk97 28th January 2017, 01:12 PM

No way is it Wilmot-Brown. I think the build up to Max meeting this mystery person and the scene itself just caused people to throw out every possible name it could be but, the truth is, it's probably not someone we've ever met before. He's probably not even a villain as such, just a ruthless, nasty piece of work.

I think the line that went something like "some people always have a foot in the past" was also a suggestion that SOC is going to push the show forward instead of relying on past glories. Obviously there was the Michelle recast which would say otherwise, but she's a character that has such huge relevance to the show and was necessary to come back. Someone like James Wilmot-Brown had his story arc, so it would be pointless to bring him back and it would also mean we know everything about the person Max was meeting. You wouldn't have this sense of mystery about the character because you'd know he was all-out-bad because he's a rapist.

Posted by: Mart!n 28th January 2017, 03:42 PM

And if it was Wilmot Brown, the first target would have been the Dagmar, which is now Sharon and Vincent's Bar, plus apart from the Beales and the Fowlers, Sharon and Dot, no one else knows him. I think its someone we just haven't met yet, and I don't think anyone else is going to get killed off, it just someone using scare tactics to get what he wants, that's the way I'm reading into it, at the moment. I can't see how Max instigated that bus crash to be honest, a driver with a dodgy ticker.

Obviously Aunt Babe and Lee are due to bout out, but its taking ages to happen, I'm thinking they both depart together as they have had enough, because they look as if they just don't want to be there.

Other forums seem to have run away with this idea but it does make sense with little things we've seen on screen.

Unfortunately, I don't feel like I could totally sympathise with Ian if he was to have such storyline. I liked the bonding scenes between him and Jane that we saw last Autumn and it made me believe in them as characters and a couple again but, despite that, I just don't think I could. It seems the Bobby saga ruined the Beales in the long run and I've just not missed the family when they've been on screen much less.

Mick is a colossal test. Can't drive his son to a seminar because he was clearly rushed off his feet in the Vic. And how dare Linda care for her sick mother when he needs a shag?

Shame as I thought it was a decent episode away from that, at least as good as it can be when it's so teen-centric. Shakil was pretty good, for instance, or at least was able to string a sentence together that remotely resembled the English language.

Also, how much did Pearl still those Fox-Hubbard scenes?!

EastEnders is adding a whole lot more mystery and intrigue to its storylines - by axing advance access to the show's cast lists online.

For years now, the BBC soap's official website has listed exactly who'll be appearing in each individual episode days before they air - allowing viewers to keep track of when their favourite characters will feature.

Die-hard fans often used the lists to monitor comings and goings, uncover new characters, figure out who'll get the duff-duff cliffhanger, and even get sneaky clues on who'll survive any storylines involving shock deaths.

However, in a major change implemented from next week onwards, everyone in the entire cast is listed online for each episode - regardless of whether they'll actually appear or not.

I am guilty for being one of those sad enough in the past to check the cast lists laugh.gif

It's true to life though and shows that people who are depicted as 'good' can still handle someone's depression in the wrong way, particularly with a lack of communication. I think when the storyline climaxes, if Whitney and Mick fail to realise their faults and involvement, then it would be a waste of a storyline but, so far, I think it's generally been handled well.

I must add that I find both Whitney and Lee so compelling. Even though they're clearly flawed characters, I just love to watch them and to see each other's points of view. The actors themselves really sink their teeth into the material and deliver it in a natural and believable way. That's another reason why Whitney should realise her mistakes and learn from it, because she has the potential to be a classic character and I'd be sad to see her fade into the background once Lee leaves (which could be as soon as this Friday!).

I feel like he might just disappear in a similar way to how Frank did in the 90s, although another part of me thinks he could commit suicide too (just I don't think we'd see any of it, more like we'll see him walking off and the next we hear of him is the Carter's learning of his death).

She only said "aw always here babe xxxx" tonight becasue it's valentine's day and that factors into her perfect vision of a 1950s together forever couple.

Mick is the worst though, the writing for him is abysmal :/ There isn't one single likeable quality about him, he's just been completely ruined since Kellie went on maternity leave and the only thing for him to do was get further involved in Lee's problems and marriage etc.

Posted by: burbe 15th February 2017, 01:39 PM

I know Whitney and Mick have been a bit awful to Lee, but you're acting like he's a saint. He's been awful to his family over the last few months from allowing Nancy to take the blame to Ollie through to all the lies, debts and let's not forget the Abi incident as well.

Posted by: RosaParksMyCar 15th February 2017, 01:52 PM

yeah Lee has been a grade A c**t too. My mum has suffered from depression all her adult life and she never behaved the way he has.

Posted by: burbe 15th February 2017, 01:57 PM

He really has! I'm still bitter over Nancy getting ostracised over the Ollie accident by Mick for weeks, yet Lee got a slap on the wrist for robbing them, having Johnny battered and putting Ollie in danger.

Absolutely this! Mick and Whitney aren't saints (especially the former with some of his reactions...) but Lee really has brought a lot of this on himself regardless of depression. There's no excuse for planning a robbery of your own house and putting your family in danger like that. I feel for him because obviously he's been struggling, but I can see why people like Mick would struggle to sympathise *to an extent*.

Posted by: liamk97 15th February 2017, 02:16 PM

Nancy was to blame for Ollie's accident, although she was unnecessarily ostracised, and Lee, albeit an absolute idiot for planning the robbery in the first place - something that wasn't a direct link with his depression and should never be considered as such - did at least feel remorse and owned up to it. Saint Mick doesn't realise what a hypocrite he's been and Whitney doesn't realise how her behaviour affects things.

I too can understand why Mick would struggle to sympathise, but what kind of father completely overlooks the fact his son has just said he tried to kill himself and not see that perhaps he should try talking to him? It's interesting that Mick and Linda fell head over heals for Nancy with her epilepsy and Ollie with the effects from his accident, yet the family fail to realise that depression is just as serious as any physical condition.

Maybe Mick secretly hates Johnny like the rest of us.

Normally, don't find Whitney an easy to character to empathise with but that ending was brutal, think she'll suss out that he's doing it in the most vicious way possible to stop her looking for him and moving on with her life.

Obviously Mick is championing for worst father of the year award, but don't forget this is all technically down to Shirley's manipulation as she knows that committing an act of physical assault such as a slap, is something you don't come back from and means the relationship is beyond repair. Attempted murder, however like drowning Mick and shooting Phil is just a minor obstacle which hardly, if ever, gets brought up #DOUBLESTANDARDS #ALSOSTOPOVERCOMPENSATINGFORDEAN.

Posted by: liamk97 15th February 2017, 02:32 PM

Tbf to Shirley, she has been learning of the information from Mick's very one sided, perception and it's easy to see why, having been told someone has organised a robbery and hit his wife, that she would automatically assume the worse in Lee. Plus, as you said Leonardo, she does seem to be overcompensating for her f*** ups with Dean. It doesn't make it right, of course, and I'd have thought Shirley would be someone who would at least attempt to talk to Lee, having had a couple of heart-to-hearts before hand with him.

I understand that, I just don't approve of the double standard of deploring male violence whilst accepting female violence on men, you know if say Linda slapped Mick she would not be treated the way Lee has.

Just to make clear I'm not condoning actions such as Lee's, and it probably would be for the best for Whitney, who has already suffered from the worst kind of abuse in the past, to leave the relationship. Just don't hbe shocked to see EE show Sharon slap Phil in a few months time because he forgot to adopt Denny or something.

Posted by: T Boy 15th February 2017, 07:14 PM

'I never raised you like that' was all crap anyway. He may not have raised his children to be violent but the emotional pressure he lays on them has already caused Lee and Nancy to develop a violent streak.

I know Lee isn't a saint but I'm more infuriated with the fact that not one family member even acts like depression is an illness. I do feel like Nancy would probably have been the only one to give a shit about it.

Same. I'm glad Eastenders realised there wasn't a cat in hell's chance of Michelle getting the job after the school asked for references although, realistically, Michelle would have been arrested and charged in the US after her affair with Preston was revealed.

I cringed every time Preston and Michelle kissed because, in the eyes of the US law, she's a sex offender and he's her victim.

Omg imagine laugh.gif I can't imagine how they'd write out a character as big as Mick off screen if he did never return. It'd be like "oh no convenient car crash on the way to see Linda".

You have to laugh at the defensiveness and bias in the DS article over their precious Mick laugh.gif

Posted by: burbe 17th February 2017, 02:05 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if Danny Dyer & Kellie Bright left at the end of their current contract (so towards Christmas). I can't imagine they're happy being sidelined and badly written compared with their treatment under DTC. Hopefully taking Johnny's awful actor with them as well.

Shirley's become too much of a supporting character to Mick and the others, so it might be good for her as well.

Posted by: liamk97 17th February 2017, 02:25 PM

I'd be extremely sad to see Kellie Bright go tbh.

Posted by: pippa 17th February 2017, 03:45 PM

I would hate Kelly Bright to leave, the Carters as a family are crumbling and to be honest they have peaked. Their appeal is now reduced and if the Mick and Whitney affair rumours are true it goes against everything Mick and Linda were about.

That said, Danny Dyer is popular too many, i have always liked Mick and maybe because he is so the opposite to Danny himself is why he works. If Kelly and Danny stay with the show, it will be interesting to see what direction they will move forward with.

I am totally unsure about the casting of Lee Ryan, he is not someone i like but i dont know his acting skills so i will wait and judge his appearances on that.

Posted by: liamk97 17th February 2017, 11:37 PM

Good final scenes for Lee and I hope it satisfied those who felt Lee's storyline was starting to be shown in a bad light. He may not be 'fixed', but Lee was in the strongest position he's been in a long time. He knew he had to escape from the situations and circumstances that were bringing negativity to his life and he knew he needed to find purpose in his life again, like what he had in the army. He stood up to Mick, putting his foot down with what needed to be done, and he was able to push beyond his feelings for Whitney because he knew they brought out the worst in each other whilst he was dealing with his depression. In the end, Lee was the strongest.

I hope that Preston trying to make Michelle jealous by flirting with Bex just reinforces to Michelle that Preston really is just a child, instead of her realising she "can't be without him" or whatever crap it is.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th February 2017, 12:12 AM

Lee's exit was ok but i think i would have prefered if they had addressed his depression from the point of view his family seen it as an illness and understood why he has done what he done.

Sean O'Connor does crap exit storylines, i can say i honestly have not enjoyed any of his exits so far but then again im not overly a fan of anything he has done with the show so far as i struggle to watch the episodes in full. Kim and Denise scenes are all i enjoy at the moment.

Honestly I thought the woman had seen sense but clearly she thinks it's alright to start sleeping with him again now that he's in the UK and the age of consent in over 16 here, despite the fact that, as far as the law states, back in the US, she took advantage, groomed him and should be on a register and in an orange jumpsuit in a cell.

That would be a really dangerous message for the show to portray, but I wouldn't put anything beyond them now.

Posted by: T Boy 25th February 2017, 10:03 AM

His behaviour was pretty creepy and very Dean-esque. It's difficult to see why Michelle would go there. Yes, he's an attractive young teenager but thus far is totally unlikeable.

Posted by: liamk97 25th February 2017, 10:12 AM

Yeah I have absolutely no idea what attracted Michelle to him, even if we pretend he was over the age of consent. He is attractive and I can buy him making her feel young and sexy, but Michelle wouldn't have abused her position of trust, plus she's always had a thing for older guys.

No matter who the show tries to make the sympathetic or manipulative one, this is a mess and I actually hope Jenna Russell leaves the role when her contract expires.

Posted by: Liаm 25th February 2017, 11:14 AM

Preston is legit like... PERFECT visually. Shame about the "personality".

But yeah I really think they aren't going the right way about this storyline and her characterisation. They probably should have eased her in like Kathy, but it seems they're trying to return to Michelle's heyday of being a mess and everything going wrong, I know it wouldn't really fit with her big hyped return but she could have had a low-key romance storyline, say with Max, and then maybe an illness as a bigger storyline when she was settled in.

Posted by: Mack 25th February 2017, 09:10 PM

Posted by: Liаm 28th February 2017, 12:02 PM

I am looking forward to where Bex goes after this, she's one of the only reasons to keep watching along with Denise, fantastic young actress.

Posted by: liamk97 28th February 2017, 12:10 PM

As much as I hate the storyline itself, I did really enjoy the scenes between Bex and Michelle in the Mitchell iamspamspamami Similarly I enjoyed the scene with Kush and Denise, even if Kush telling Keegan that "isn't how you treat women" was ironic as f*** when you consider how misogynistic the show has been recently.

Those two scenes saved the episode, although I will always take dull as dishwater than embarrassing 'comedy'.

Posted by: T Boy 28th February 2017, 09:58 PM

It's a shame Whitney couldn't have been this efficient at raising money when she was dumping all that responsibility on her husband so that she could fund her 1950s housewife lifestyle. Are we actually supposed to be liking her? I found her quite sickening today tbh.

Kim was all sorts of amazing today. Exterminating circumstances.

Posted by: ★ Jay ★ 28th February 2017, 10:58 PM

I'm finding Preston's continued presence in the show to be a bit bizarre at this point. There's really no valid reason for him to have been hanging around the square for days, or even why he's there in the first place! In reality I'm sure Michelle's family/friends would be suspicious, as opposed to casually having him on the stall as if he's a longtime friend of the family, and just accepting that he's taken up residence at the Mitchell's house. It just doesn't ring true to me.

Whitney was just behaving like Linda today, quite strange. I'm completely bored with everything to do with the Carters (what's left of them...) and the Vic!

Watching EastEnders is a force of habit, but it certainly doesn't make for essential viewing at the moment. sad.gif Really hope it starts to improve before too long.

Posted by: Liаm 1st March 2017, 12:28 AM

Good lord they were hyping up Keegan's revenge on Bex for... that. Absolutely ridiculous, it's a shame for an amazing actress like Bex is (or could be, at least) is lumbered with a watered down Waterloo Road "storyline".

Posted by: liamk97 1st March 2017, 10:51 AM

The story I'm most invested in, actually, is the conflict between Shirley and Tina in regards to looking after Sylvie. The scene where Shirley revealed the extent of how she couldn't cope was great and I kept thinking about how Tina wanted Stan to stay with the family when he was ill, even though it wasn't mentioned. It's refreshing for characters to remain true to themselves in a plot for once. I hope this story comes to the forefront a bit more - it doesn't have to be a copy of the Ashley storyline on Emmerdale, there's already different perspectives and avenues to take this and I think it is good for soaps to have different leading storylines, but this is more on track with taking a realistic topic and making it heartfelt, character-lead and gritty.

Posted by: liamk97 9th March 2017, 11:34 PM

Carmel was great in the scene at the kitchen table with Shakil and I was quite touched by her monologue, but she had to spoil it by going off at the Fowlers and using Stacey's bipolar against her. Kush was right to hand her her arse later and Stacey was right to rip her a new one.

Posted by: RosaParksMyCar 9th March 2017, 11:37 PM

Stacey was everything in those scenes.

Posted by: liamk97 14th March 2017, 09:52 PM

Mick is such a manchild, throwing strops when he doesn't get his own way but, when he does (like someone other than himself going to prison), he's happy as Larry.

Waiting for Shirley to tell her cellmate "piss off, you bastard" tbh.

Posted by: Cameron 14th March 2017, 09:55 PM

Mick is unbearable, Whitney is not as bad but still awful. Stacey is slaying, Honey's random 2 second scenes are life-giving and of course Carmel's hat stole the show.

Posted by: T Boy 14th March 2017, 10:07 PM

Carmel's hat has been the highlight of 2017 tbh.

And why can't Mick just 'man up' like he was so insistent his suicidal son should?

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 15th March 2017, 02:43 AM

Carmel is by far the best on the show right now but with the state the show is in its not saying much. I can safely say this current era is my least fave era of the show. Im just finding it incredibly boring and stale at the moment and i as i have said before there is no signs of anything great coming. For me its really starting to look that Sean O'Connor was a terrible decision as executive producer.

I think they really need to get someone in who knows what they are doing as the longer SOC stays the harder it will be for the next executive producer to turn the show around. For many characters its like the life has been totally sucked out of them.

Posted by: jase. 15th March 2017, 09:05 PM

I'm really at the end of my tether with this show now. Mick's ongoing debt problems and the "will they/won't they" crap with Whitney is getting insufferable to watch, we're no nearer to finding out wtf Max is supposed to be up to even though he's been back a while now, the Michelle/Preston stuff is awful and I have no idea where they're going with it? The constant references to Shaki's willy/endless scenes of Bex crying is getting very tiresome. And Jack. Just...Jack in general.

The only interesting part of the show is Slyvie and Tina but I only feel they're paying them more attention now because it's gonna lead up to one of them (or maybe even both) departing.

Add the random casting of Lee Ryan and this random obsession with Pauline Fowler's BFF Derek (he's on his way back), I'm just a bit done with it all.

Posted by: T Boy 15th March 2017, 09:18 PM

I agree with a lot of this actually! I've quite enjoyed Mick over the past few years but it seems he works best when Linda's there, he's been insufferable recently and I can't wait til he's off screen for a bit. I'm just finding the show a bit of a chore right now, and if we compare it to Emmerdale which is consistently great and Corrie which has hugely picked up recently, EastEnders is lagging a bit for me. It's a shame because they have a great cast but they aren't being utilised for the best storylines imo.

Oh and YES at the Jack hate, awful character. Sonia is at least ironically funny in how awful she is.

Posted by: liamk97 15th March 2017, 11:50 PM

I'm actually kinda looking forward to Sonia's return. ph34r.gif Remember she did actually improve when SOC's influence started coming through just before she went on maternity leave. I was actually cheering her on during the "I hope she bites ya!" scene with Shirley.

Apparently, after the next couple of weeks, we hit the point where the bus crash actually should have aired, so I'm hopeful the quality will improve once we've passed that point. At the moment, we're out of sync and all this should have been build up to the crash.

Posted by: Liаm 15th March 2017, 11:52 PM

Yeah I'm the same definitely, Eastenders used to be the one that I could not miss but now I just watch it if I happen to be cooking downstairs and chuck the TV on. I don't go out of my way to watch it and I don'tcatch up, it's just so dull. I couldn't give less of a shit about Mick's debt, which doesn't help. The saving graces for me are probably Carmel, Denise and Bex, but the former doesn't have a real storyline and the latter two are kind of going round in circles with what they have.

Posted by: T Boy 16th March 2017, 07:15 AM

I recall being very conflicted during Sonia's rant at Shirley. Everything she said was correct and yet she's f***ing SONIA therefore automatically awful.

Posted by: T Boy 16th March 2017, 10:16 PM

Again, I feel like they want me to feel sorry for Mick, but it's just impossible. He's such a child. How rude of Linda to go and help her ill mother instead of staying behind to shag all of Mick's problems away.

I love how he skipped over Lee's suicide attempt, the fact the he constantly told his son he wasn't good enough for Whitney, the fact that he ordered Lee to leave and the fact that he kissed Whitney again in the hospital.

And Whitney has also become such a cretin. It's creepy how she hangs around her ex husband's family when she has actual family across the square.

Posted by: liamk97 16th March 2017, 10:28 PM

It was so great to have Linda back, I wish she was back permanently again. Her visit did prove how dependent Mick is on Linda, which is why he latched on to Whitney whilst she was away, and how Whitney wants Mick all to herself because she sees him as this big protector, which she feels she needs due to her insecurities based on her past. It's interesting stuff but it's just a shame Mick and Whitney are such unsympathetic, unlikable characters right now.

Posted by: lewistgreen 16th March 2017, 10:38 PM

I'm so glad Linda knows everything now! Good to see her back tonight

The late 90's - 2003 was when EastEnders was very good. 2001 & 2002 in particular were the best years and that was when every episode was entertaining, not just the Christmas specials or the ones where people get killed off.

Well, they have three options, have them get together and get the lazy tag, keep them both single which limits their storylines, or option three cast a seperate love interest, which more than likely will be involved in a loce triangle of sorts, which stops one character getting neglected. I mean they could cast TWO love interests, but i'd doubt they would.

Posted by: Liаm 22nd March 2017, 01:35 AM

Good LORD there is literally MINUS chemistry between Ben and Johnny. I hate when they chuck together the only two gay characters in a soap just because. They could have just cast someone for Ben and written Johnny out. I think Johnny needs the storyline more but I want it more for Ben laugh.gif They should just not have brought Johnny back. He can't even do a shot properly, he was chugging that shot for about a minute lmfao. Also why was Bex wearing something that looks like it came from Sonia's wardrobe?!

Posted by: JosephSharman 22nd March 2017, 01:42 AM

I think there's room for both Ben and Johnny but I agree they don't work together and it feels like they've just shoved the two remaining gay characters together because they're each other's only options. I mean, Johnny goes to uni in London, it's 2017 so surely there will be ways he can meet guys, Ben's not the only one within the local area laugh.gif

Posted by: Liаm 22nd March 2017, 01:57 AM

I mean he could meet guys at uni if Mick let him actually go instead of using him to cover so he can ogle Whitney and neglect his share of caring for Slyvie drama.gif But all of it is just lazy writing really.

Posted by: JosephSharman 22nd March 2017, 02:10 AM

Hit by a bus then having the same 20 ton bus dropped on you and not a scratch!

Also Martin, after having been crushed by the bus, should have died from constriction, seeing as no paramedics were there to admnister anti-measures to contain the potassium before he was removed.

Preston being visual perfection is the only good thing about this "storyline". Good lord what a way to maul the legacy of Michelle. I've loved Sylvie in tonight's episode but I fully suspect she'll die this week. Perhaps something to do with the extension lead and the CD player that got an awful lot of camera attention, tied in with the leaky roof.

Posted by: King Rollo 27th March 2017, 11:37 PM

A while back,Mick said when the pub is open, one of the licensees must be on the premises. Mick,Linda and Shirley are all away so Whitney & co. are breaking the law unless one of them has been added without us being told. If Max is trying to get the pub closed down, this is his opportunity.

Posted by: Mart!n 28th March 2017, 06:57 PM

That ending ohmy.gif

Posted by: liamk97 28th March 2017, 07:02 PM

The fallout wasn't as high energy and impactful as I was hoping, although I did like the part where Martin confronted Michelle about not ever returning to Walford despite her dad, mum and brother all dying. I also felt really touched by the scene of Tina and Sylvie by the jukebox; that Dusty song never fails to pull at my heartstrings and Luisa (Tina) is proving to be one of the show's finest actresses, which is a complete U-turn to what she was like with Sonia.

The ending had next to no impact on me. I did think she'd run over Preston and it would be a rehash of Jamie Mitchell's death, so I'm glad it wasn't quite like that. Jenna does play a good drunk, too.

Posted by: burbe 28th March 2017, 07:05 PM

At last something interesting happened! The fallout should've been more dramatic, imo. But there were some good moments.

Very convenient that Kush went to the chippy in time for the crash. I wonder what's going to happen next ;o

Posted by: Mack 28th March 2017, 07:47 PM

Posted by: Liаm 28th March 2017, 08:24 PM

I just find it hard to get that excited about today's episode, they'll probably ostracise her for a bit and then she'll hit the bottle and they'll feel guilty and it'll all be fine. Nobody will die, if nobody died in the massive bus crash that gutted half the square there'll probably be 0 repercussions for anyone but Michelle from this one laugh.gif It sounds stupid to moan about something happening given our feelings towards this more "boring" era but because of that it now just feels like when something does happen, I constantly feel deflated from it and like I don't care because it's clear little will come of it!

Posted by: burbe 28th March 2017, 08:39 PM

Impressed with the episode! Martin's reaction was what i expected of him although a little underwhelming where his chat with Michelle lasted all of 5 minutes and he was completely calm by then.

The crash at the end though was superb. Nothing will happen to Kush but it's likely this'll be what brings him and Denise together

Posted by: pippa 29th March 2017, 07:36 PM

I struggle to take to Michelle, i am unsure if its anything to do with the actress or if its simply the character but she is just so miserable that i don't enjoy her. That said, there is little to nothing to enjoy about the show for a long time now. The Tina and Sylvie scenes were lovely, i thought they were superb and i enjoyed seeing Linda back. But everything else is a struggle.

Surely the cast must be scratching their heads with the storylines at the moment and hoping that a new executive producer steps in soon.

Posted by: Liаm 31st March 2017, 01:42 AM

Both Luisa and Linda were superb, it was quite close to when that firefighter's wife in Corrie died though, she had Alzheimer's and put the toaster in the sink to "wash" it. A great episode though, as I said above Luisa has been brilliant recently given a chance to shine with this and it's so much more impactful and shocking than Slyvie slipping away slowly as she gets worse, especially as it was supposed to be a nice final night before she got put in a home, that made me tear up a bit sad.gif

Even though it was utterly heartbreaking, I think the fact Sylvie died as her party girl self from the 60s, in a peak of happiness, was as 'nice' an ending as it could have been. She'd likely have died suddenly as a result of the electrocution too. I think that'll be of great comfort to Tina when she comes to terms with what happened: she didn't want Sylvie to go into a home, and she didn't.

I adored the scene with Tina brushing Sylvie's hair (The Royle Family vibes) where Sylvie said "I love you, mum" and, when Tina told her she's not her mum, she responded "I don't care, I still love ya". It was such a heartwarming moment and it'll be another comfort to Tina to know that Sylvie died, not exactly knowing who she was, but knowing that she appreciated the care Tina had given her. Juxtapose that with the howls from Tina when she found Sylvie in the bath - that really struck me, it was quite uncomfortable to watch and listen to. I'm really happy it received the duff duff because it has been the one shining storyline, treated with respect, truth and heart, post-January and I hope the aftermath is given the same consideration (although I don't hold my breath).

Posted by: Mart!n 31st March 2017, 10:23 AM

I was in tears as I knew what was going to happen when she put the radio on the bath and the lead running to the bathroom, it was so traumatic.

Shirley is probably due back from the blocks, on the back of Sylvie's death.

Posted by: liamk97 3rd April 2017, 07:36 PM

I can't believe that Sharon just forgave Michelle for hitting her son! Because she knows why she did it? Michelle hit Dennis because he called her a pedo, not because of the blackmailing. I also despise the "poor me poor me" act with Michelle. She really needs to go.

It also pisses me off that Ian's health storyline is merely for comedic value.

Posted by: Lieowstic🐱 3rd April 2017, 07:40 PM

I feel like because it's Michelle the legend they're like "they can't just outcast her" so nothing matters :/ But in that case they just shouldn't have gone down this route with her. They've gone on about the huge consequences for the crash but the only thing that really had any impact tonight was Tina's grief and obv Sylvie dying had 0 to do with the crash. Carmel will stop sulking about Denise and Kush when she comes back in a couple of days and Michelle seems to be being accepted with open arms back into Sharon's home. All that's changed is Preston is gone but he didn't particularly bring much to the show.

Posted by: liamk97 3rd April 2017, 07:43 PM

Speaking of consequences, why is Michelle so above the law? She barely got a slap on the wrist for sleeping with a student who was under the age of consent and now there's no suggestion she'll be paying the price for drug-drink driving which resulted in potentially killing two people and destroying a building.

Yes,I thought about that but they left her in charge so they should have made the car available to her. It's 20 years since I worked in motor insurance, but I think there is a fund for uninsured losses that each insurer pays into if she wasn't insured to drive the car.

I feel really sorry for Bex, the ending in particular (although I'd find it odd that Stacey wouldn't call for Bex to come down first rather than bring them straight up).

Totally rolled my eyes when Martin interrupted Bex's busking, surely any parent would be proud to see their kid wowing a crowd like that? They certainly wouldn't interrupt... unsure.gif

Lmao at her thinking she's it but walking round with tomato soup on her jumper all day :') It's an awful storyline to watch, it's fab to see Jasmine Armfield prove herself as possibly the best actress in the show bar Stacey and Denise but it's not something I enjoy watching. The two odious little cows need to get their comeuppance.

Posted by: irn_brube 11th April 2017, 07:26 PM

The writing for Louise is absolutely shocking. The writers need to decide whether they want her to be bullying storyline Louise or Mitchell household Louise.

Posted by: Lieowstic🐱 11th April 2017, 07:52 PM

Ikr! She could be so fab if she was strong and sassy, but there's so much squandered potential when she's just Alex and Madison's lapdog, It's probably meant to be that it makes the bullying stuff more harrowing that Louise has joined and Bex doesn't have that support, but it makes little sense when she was so strong as a pair with Bex before those two showed up.

The scene with Michelle in the launderette trying to get the cat and she finds the photograph with Pauline was pathetically cringe-worthy. Michelle is unbearable to watch and I believe its universal that everyone has hated her return storyline. Kim and the Easter shopping scenes were joyful to watch in what is generally becoming a show that becomes harder to enjoy by the week. The bullying storyline is probably the best storyline going on and I look forward to those horrible odious girls getting caught out. Rebecca is a solid actress and she is really strong in her scenes. Louise, I agree, the scriptwriters appear clueless with her, you can’t work out if she is a worse bully than the other 2 as she was her friend or what is even going on with her.

Posted by: lewistgreen 13th April 2017, 07:37 PM

Poor Bex sad.gif

Posted by: liamk97 13th April 2017, 09:02 PM

Unfortunately I can't even say I feel that much for Bex. Why was she planning on going to the cinema with Alex and Mads in the first place? Why did she just accept Mads' apologising out of the blue and accept her excusing herself because 'she was scared Alex would turn on her', when it was quite clear she took pleasure in bullying and taunting Bex - it was her to actually attacked and half stripped Bex in the toilets, for instance? How could anyone be so naive as to not know those 'truffles' had been tampered with? It's awful to watch these horrid things happen to Bex, but she just doesn't do herself any favours and it makes it hard to invest in this storyline.

On a positive note, I was really happy when Stacey suddenly announced she was pregnant! We have barely heard anything about Martin and Stacey trying for a baby since the bus crash, so it was a pleasant surprise to see it snuck into tonight's episode.

Posted by: ♀T Boy♀ 13th April 2017, 09:16 PM

Louise makes no sense. She can't stand there laughing with the others and then just stick a conflicted look on her face like she gives a shit. If there were actually any scenes of the girls threatening her to join in or else then I'd understand.

Kim and Vincent are giving me life atm. Vincent especially is underused.

Posted by: liamk97 13th April 2017, 09:24 PM

I never know what to make of Louise in these scenes. It kind of comes across like Louise and Bex are still meant to be really good friends but then she'll literally just stand there when Bex is being bullied. Why does Louise consciously go out of her way to hang out with the two of them? I get the idea of "I don't want to end up being bullied myself" thing, even if it is being dreadfully portrayed on screen, but you'd think, regardless, that she'd just stay out of their way as much as possible, not constantly be by their side.

Posted by: King Rollo 13th April 2017, 11:12 PM

I agree it makes no sense for Louise to try and stop them smashing the guitar but then she takes part in the truffle thing.

I also don't understand why when Bex told the school headmistress about the assault in the toilet, the headmistress didn't inform Martin and Stacey.

In a real school, a good headteacher would have phoned the parents of all involved and Alex and Mads would have been excluded for a few days regardless of Bex's wishes. That level of bullying should never be tolerated and the parents have a right to know if their child is being bullied.

Looks like Sonia may give them Hell next week for being a completely inept school.

Posted by: Lieowstic🐱 14th April 2017, 02:32 PM

As fab as it is for Bex to shine, this really should end soon. I think Alex and Maddison had a shelf life of about 3 weeks, I know bullying goes on a lot longer but you'd think by now Louise would have grown a pair or they'd have been suspended when the school knew about them assaulting Bex in the toilets. It's just horrible to watch and I know it's important to cover too but those two make me want to smash my TV every time they're on screen, and it's really ruining Louise too.

Interesting choices! Not surprised to see Lacey Turner and Danny Dyer shoe-horned in there but great to see Diane Parish there (even if the character is too dominant a force in the show, the actress usually does a good job with her material) and particularly thrilled at June Brown being there! The Best Actor/Actress category usually goes for younger actors or people with strong, usually young, fanbases, so it's great to see June get some recognition.

Of course, John Middleton and Charlotte Bellamy from Emmerdale deserve to win these awards though.

Fab to see Diane get recognized again, it is so deserved! I agree it should be Charlotte Bellamy but I worry it will be Lacey again. She is ofc the best actress EE has but she hasn't done anything this year :/ None of these males even remotely deserve to win, Davood is ok but not worthy of best actor.

Danny will win, again. It is ridiculous because he is arguably the weakest actor of the main male characters. I hope Diane and Tameeka get nominated for best onscreen partnership! They really deserve it

Can't believe the roof collapse missed Lee Ryan.

Love Whitney giving Tina eyes for getting some flowers for her mum's f***ing funeral because it's an 'extra cost' when only weeks ago she was having a hissy fit over having to give up the flat she was never able to afford anyway. Too bad she wasn't this financially aware when she married Lee.

Whitney is such a twat, she was never my absolute fave but she's really gone downhill since she moved in with Lee and became a 1950s housewife who wasn't content with anything below the perfect life, and now she's a proper tightarse for no reason other she's wet for Mick laugh.gif
