OMG
Can guarantee the disasters don't stop there.
Bloody hell... I have got suspicions on the train now, if the bridge is damaged. I don't know how Billy and Jay fit in at the moment. There is only 3 episodes of EE this week due to the FA Cup football match on Friday.
Oh my Yeah there must be something going on with the train on the bridge, I thought that right from the establishing shot of the bridge and the tube going across, not to mention Shirley et al randomly being shown inside a tube. Will definitely be interesting to see how Billy and Jay are involved, it didn't look like they were anywhere near the scene.
Going to do some predictions:
Keegan - Dead
Shakil - Possibly Dead
Louise - Fine
Denise - Seriously Injured
Bex - Seriously Injured
Shirely - Fine
Tina or Sylvie will die
Maybe one of the extra's on the market will die with either Kush / Martin / Donna injured
Maybe Billy and Jay were a bit of a red herring to make us think they could be involved when really it was just an opportunity to share a scene off square.
I loved how all the irrelevant characters turned up in today's episode! Especially Johnny just randomly showing up despite not being seen all day!
Imagine they killed of Jonny *.*
I couldn't deal with losing both Johnny and Paul in less than a year tbh
That was quite intense in the moments as the bus started to come round the corner! It was so well filmed, not ott, just right for once
I think Keegan, Kush and Tina are most likely. Bit confused by Billy / Jay, it did feel like they were trying to build up to Jay dying? But Stratford isn't that near to where Walford is supposed to be set.
Johnny appearing so randomly was hilarious. He was just like "oh the director has told me to walk over here so i'll do it but i'm not sure why....." *GETS CRUSHED BY BUS* please~
when looking at the bus stunt, Louise is 100% fine. I think the fact that the boys were standing was a problem as they could easily stumble to the front of the bus
I was expecting The Vic to be involved based on the teaser trailer that aired over the weekend, but then maybe that's to come?
I am gagging for Jasmine Armfield to have a big storyline with a serious injury, I think she will be incredible. Looking at potential deaths, I think if there are any that aren't a market extra like Shrimpy or someone irrelevant and not really in it like Keegan (I feel he will die because why else bring him in and have him there etc), my money is on one of Donna, Shakil, Tina or Sylvie. All somewhat disposable although I do love Donna as a character, but all 4 would affect a number of characters and give them something to do in the aftermath. I am thinking Tina or Sylvie will die to give the Carters a part to play in this, rather than Lee because that would mean Linda would have to come back and she won't just yet, whereas if Sylvie or Tina died obviously she'd care but she'd just be prioritising her own mother over the in-laws.
I really liked the little touches that keep us wondering who might die or be injured with little clues - Louise wishing Keegan dead, the ongoing Fox drama, Bex's insecurities, the Carters getting one could be one last photo etc., obviously some red herrings but all of it keeps me guessing.
Also, Johnny's face as he saw the bus coming !!!! Good lord what a horrible actor.
Also, the constant stuff about Donna's wheelchair makes me think that she couldn't move out of the way in time because of the dodgy wheels.
Apparently the best is yet to come. Basically confirming the Tube to derail? Or maybe the bus will explode?
Since this is going to be played out within 3 weeks, its going to be interesting how it all plays out, we might not get all the deaths all in one episode, but I think most of the regulars will probably be injured and scared for life, I'm assuming it be some of the extras that we don't know that well are probably the dead. As far as I know its only Lee and Aunt Babe are leaving at some point, but I do think Sylvie is gone out of the ones that are on the tube, and Lee could be on it which we haven't seen yet.
I'm BEGGING for Johnny's death.
Oops new thread required, whoever does it, can they snip it on page 50 with Cameron's post OMG , with the disaster posts at the beginning of the new topic. Cheers.
IKONEK first post *.*
If a Carter were to die it wouldn't be Lee or Johnny because there is no way they'd get around Linda not coming back. I'd bank on Sylvia since a tube derailment is totes happening. Praying for Donna to be safe.
Johnny doesn't need to die tho. He could just get horrifically disfigured and the plastic surgeons can turn him back into Sam Strike.
The episode struck to me so much I watched it twice
Has this happened yet then??
Tbf they don't really have disasters in EE compared to other soaps, if you look at Hollyoaks having explosions all the time etc. and Emmerdale with their yearly big stunts
Howling! https://twitter.com/PushTheButton/status/823641179833167873
FFS LMFAOOOO
Thats amazing!!!
Nearly PUKED watching this when one scene starts with Shirley clipping her toes and inspecting the result.
FOOKIN GROSS!!!
Ruined the whole episode tbh.
relatable queen
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a819725/eastenders-tube-crash-disaster-theory-gets-ruled-out-ahead-of-tonights-dramatic-episode/
Don''t know if I can watch it after toegate.
OMG... Whitney
"Someone get Mick Carter, he'll know what to do!"
Also, did anyone hear Mick call Vincent, Richard?!
Whitney !!!!!
I must admit the beginning was brilliant, how it was filmed, with all the slow mo stuff, it had me glued to the set throughout the whole episode from start to finish. I didn't think they would lift the bus though as the bus was wedged under that bridge. I like to know what is going to happen on the tube now.
That episode went very quick, sign of a good one! I loved the Tina, Shirley & Sylvie scenes as a bit of light relief as well. Very well shot and edited from start to finish, I just think the lifting up a bus might have been too much on the sensational side of things. But it was nice to see everyone come together to help.
The episode zoomed by it seemed! Brilliant stuff.
I didn't even think about Whitney throughout and kept ticking off people as they were safe. ANYONE BUT HER THOUGH let it be Lee with her phone under there.. Can't lose Whit
Babe was sheer brilliance as always too <3
I DONT WANT IT TO BE WHITNEY PLEASE BE LEE WITH HER PHONE...
Whitney's not dead. It'll be a twist and it'll end up being Lee. He'll have her phone because of his jealousy issues - remember him asking who she was texting the other night?
It was a very good episode and I had my doubts about it. Nothing felt corny or cringy or anything of the sort which can sometimes happen when you have such a high energy episode. Perhaps the lifting of a however-many-tonne-bus was a little bit of a belief suspension but the way it was done with the strong community feel pulled it off. Lots of great small touches, scenes where dialogue wasn't required, the camera work; really enjoyed everything about the episode.
The Tina, Shirley and Sylvie scenes worked well as comedy relief and I'm usually not a fan of those types of scenes. The part where they were speculating about what the incident could have been felt very realistic - stuff like "maybe it was a terrorist attack" and "maybe some selfish git jumped" aren't the sort of things you'd usually hear on a soap when they're in fact quite honest, real things to say.
But CHRIST, what a f***ing episode. Absolutely edge of your seat stuff, and I LOVE how it was filmed.
Get rid of that chav, Keegan
Best episode of EastEnders for a long time.
On a lighter note, Shirley's expression in the pic with Tina and Sylvie had me absolutely HOWLING with laughter Then the next minute I was all because Lacey Turner is TOO good of an actress.
The most annoying thing in that whole episode was that kid taking photographs, and pillaging in the shop, I really wanted to give him a slap.
When were these episodes filmed? In the last couple of weeks? (just thinking because of Castle On The Hill being played on the radio, unless that was a more recently added in scene).
It was really gripping, a fantastic episode.
Tonights was the first episode I've seen in a long time but it was actually really well done! My main issue was that guy filming EVERYTHING though, like really??
Keegan is generally a huge idiot though. I'm gutted they didn't kill him. There's still Thursday....please....
The actual stunt was definitely filmed earlier this month, although that scene could have been dubbed over and filmed earlier.
Most very likely it will be Lee. Hope Martin 3.0 is all right
Not gonna lie, I smiled a little when it was revealed someone Mick cares about was under the bus just after he was slagging off the emergency services. How indecent and inconsiderate of them to arrive as fast as they can!
I love how Donna can be mowed down by a bus and still be the most rational person there.
Sylvie continues to be a queen of Life.
What a shame Sonia couldn't have been visiting and killed by the bus.
I'm living for Emerald's fake scream and over exaggerated fall when Keegan pushed her. Someone needs to gif that.
Such a good episode, the camera work was excellent and Lacey was the standout actress as per :') Maybe that random child that random woman was screaming for has the same ringtone as Whitney
I'm not sure it will be anyone Whitney will have dropped it or something. I'm beginning to think maybe someone will die later of the injuries they sustained; perhaps Donna.
Donna did refuse a hospital visit which is often a death sentence in soap.
I've been really enjoying these episodes and that 'duff duff' last night was a shock moment, I cant remember the last time that a 'duff duff' surprised me as much.
I think it will be either Whitney under or someone with the same ringtone, Lee was at work as he called Whitney and Mick commented on her ringtone as she ignored his call and then she took it with her as she was off to buy Ryan an engagement gift. I dont see it being Lee as Linda would need to be back for it, unless they are going to seriously injure him put him into more depression to then kill himself or off when she returns but not sure when he is due to depart.
I like others still think lingering hidden elements may play a part Donna refusing hospital, Denise seemed far to fine to be ok and Kush as well but I am looking forward to Thursdays episode to see where it is going next
please dont kill Donna. she's my fave
I heard a suggestion that, following Shirley's comment that someone may have jumped on the tracks, perhaps the tube stopped due to an incident that wasn't anything to do with the bus crash and it was in fact Lee committing suicide. That'd be a pretty shocking twist but seems pretty possible the more I think of it.
Possible spoilers/ speculation aboot who is dead:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/who-die-eastenders-bus-crash-9687469
Lmao at them lifting a 15 tonne bus!!
Let's say it was possible for thw Walford Old Gannies to do so. Lifting it would cause tge bus to tilt forward meaning anyone else trapped under the bus further up would be squashed. Then they let the bus DROP down, again meaning whoever else was trapped underneath would be instantly squashed. Now, let's take the reason WHY they lifted it: Martin sufferinf crushing wounds. When someone is crushed doctors do NOT lift the heavy object ofd like that. Their body's potassium is released in serious crushing. Removing that force without drugs results in the potassium rushing to the heart, stopping it and ends in a big ol heart attack.
Given their sudden Avengers strength, the ER lot have just killed Martin and whoever else was under the bus twice over without once checking to see if anyone else was under the bus, which should have been the first thing they did, especially after finding one person who was definitely trapped.
ABI isn't accounted for yet
And with Max being hailed as the hero.. maybe that's the throw us off the scent when really he's missed his DAUGHTER. Also wouldn't the police have checked the scene and cleared it with no one else there?
That ending... interesting... like to see how it develops
I will come for the writers if Abi was dead.
I wish the bus could have killed Mick tbh.
I was taking that scene as it meaning Max caused the bus crash somehow - "the pub is next on my list" now he's demolished the market. Surely impossible unless he drugged the bus driver but that's too farfetched even for Eastenders.
I get so angry whenever Mick and Whitney share a scene because the chemistry between them, intentional or not, is so huge and I was ready to lose my shit when Mick took too long to pull away from Whitney's kiss.
The montage was pretty powerful, particularly where it focused on one of the paramedics getting emotional and a colleague supporting them by getting a coffee.
Not sure what to make of the end scene with Max but I was extremely curious throughout. Every past character was running through my head - could it be Tanya? has he made the ultimate power couple with a returned Janine?! have they decided to bring Kierston Wareing back and actually put her talents to use?
Enough time has passed now for Janine to come back. I doubt we'll see her for another few years at least though.
I thought it might be Janine as well and they were planning something together It will be interesting to see where they're going with this though...
Someone on DS said it might be James Willmott-Brown, who is apparently a character from the 80s who raped Kathy. Maybe I'll have a quick glance at his wiki page later.
That was crap.
And the ONLY one who died (when Whitney and Martin should bith be goners) was the bus driver.
Perhaps Emerald will die later from the injuries she sustained in the minute mart...
It was a disaster where the only casualties were someone we'd never seen before and who the show ignored, even though he was the only casualty there, and a few stalls and a wheelchair. Amazingly bad.
Some could die later on in the episodes tbf
From Monday and Tuesday's episodes, there are two things I am confused about.
1. If the bus driver was barely conscious, how was he able to drive the bus around the tight corners of Albert Square. If he was able to steer it around the square, why couldn't he apply the brake?
2. There were other people downstairs other than Denise. How did they get out? Was there an emergency exit at the back? Why did they leave Denise on the floor by the front door. One of them could have pressed the emergency button to open the front door and get her out.
Walford is supposedly set somewhere between West Ham and Bow Road and the bus said it was going to Barking, so it was quite funny that only Walford residents were left on the bus when it had another four and a half miles or so left of its journey
Yup I wondered what happened to the others at the back!
Poor disaster episodes.
They also didn't understand basic physics with the lifting of the bus, making it angle near the top where Whitney was, surely killing her, then dropping it down, killing her and anyone else under it twice over. Also they didn't understand Albert Square is waaay too tight for a bus to get round, especially for someone unconscious. They also didn't understand medical FACT in how they got Martin out/ how he and Whitney escaped unscathed.
Yeah, there's probably no way Whitney should have been able to survive a bus being dropped on her. And her spine is also fine.
Well I Thought Monday was a good lead up, Tuesday was good and that end 'duff duff' was brilliant and Thursday I thought was just poor with no real suspense it just seems to of served as a catalyst to start off a lot of stories which will probably run the course of the year.
I thought Whitney kissing Mick was poor, we'd just literally seen her unable to talk in and out of conciousness and the doctor inform Mick that they need to do a scan as very concerned about a possible brain injury but next thing you know she's awake and fine talking like normal and then reacihng up and snogging Micks face off which you saw coming as soon as showed Denise walking to see Whitney. I kind of wish she'd just died or least been in coma for a bit now.
I was expecting some face from the past to appear with Max at the end although it was nice to see the shard being used and not just some seedy back street cafe, took me a while to remember where I had see the bloke before then remembered he placed the prince in dinnerladies. Not quite sure where this storyline going apart from fact Max hell bent on destroying Albert Square I think the other bloke wants to develop the area possibly he bought launderette, paying council to move market maybe needs the vic and minute mart as well.
You've got Martin and Staceys story set up for the year trying to conceive a baby and juggling her medication, Stacey is a fab character and Lacey a brilliant actress but I do wish they would stop putting her as the new Pauline just because she is now a Fowler. All we seen of her lately is in the house washing pots cooking meals.
You got Louise being a bitch to shak even though helped and saved her so she's obviously going to be falling for him and end up going behind Bex back or something similar.
I still cannot work out how Babe and Lee are leaving or even when, although I wish Babe was staying she is more evil then most characters brought in and classed as villains, the line to Sylvie making her think it was her fault was pure evil but just Babe all over.
Overall what was billed as disaster week was a mixed bag, it was obvious no-one major would die so close after Ronnie & Roxy but it certainly started a few storylines
I agree, I always felt like it was would be likely for anyone for die. I think it was to show the community spirit, as well as that they COULD do a stunt. And it will kick off lots of stories that last a while, rather than a death than nobody mentions a week later. I mean if they've got over Ronnie and Roxy, I doubt it would have much impact if Donna or Shakil for example had died!
James Wilmot-Brown was played by William Boyd, not sure if he was in the credits last night unless the character has been re-casted. He must have aged quite a bit, if its him.
the return everyone's been wanting*.*
wait have i misunderstood martins post?
No way is it Wilmot-Brown. I think the build up to Max meeting this mystery person and the scene itself just caused people to throw out every possible name it could be but, the truth is, it's probably not someone we've ever met before. He's probably not even a villain as such, just a ruthless, nasty piece of work.
I think the line that went something like "some people always have a foot in the past" was also a suggestion that SOC is going to push the show forward instead of relying on past glories. Obviously there was the Michelle recast which would say otherwise, but she's a character that has such huge relevance to the show and was necessary to come back. Someone like James Wilmot-Brown had his story arc, so it would be pointless to bring him back and it would also mean we know everything about the person Max was meeting. You wouldn't have this sense of mystery about the character because you'd know he was all-out-bad because he's a rapist.
And if it was Wilmot Brown, the first target would have been the Dagmar, which is now Sharon and Vincent's Bar, plus apart from the Beales and the Fowlers, Sharon and Dot, no one else knows him. I think its someone we just haven't met yet, and I don't think anyone else is going to get killed off, it just someone using scare tactics to get what he wants, that's the way I'm reading into it, at the moment. I can't see how Max instigated that bus crash to be honest, a driver with a dodgy ticker.
Obviously Aunt Babe and Lee are due to bout out, but its taking ages to happen, I'm thinking they both depart together as they have had enough, because they look as if they just don't want to be there.
Piper is so shit she's amazing
Iconic.
Interesting to see where these school scenes are going. I understand they're setting up a Louise story and those girls Madison and Alexandra look like they're at the centre of it all next week.
Sylvie I love her so much! It's just a shame they don't show the more serious side to the illness. It's just a kinda afterthought at times.
Yep, as expected, Martin wandering around without a scratch. And having her bones crushed won't stop Whitney travelling.
Living for Louise's clearly 27 year old school friends.
god i love michelle*.* what a twatty mess of a woman
omfg my Mum pointed out that Michelle is identical to the chickens from chicken run and i cant unsee
I'm gonna need Michelle to up her messiness if that's possible.
she is tho^ her name is michelle fowler.
yasssss denise
Denise / Diane Parish is carrying this show right now.
Diane to win all awards surely?
Kim is possibly my least fave character in soap rn
Denise meanwhile might be my fave. Diane Parrish deserves EVERY award.
They have totally ruined Kim's character please can they just have the two of them kiss and make up, it feels really out of character for Kim and quite unreasonable really? Fair enough to be annoyed for a short while but it's really dragging at the moment. Diane Parish is excelling of course though. She should win awards but she won't because she's possibly the most underrated actress in soap.
Will Patsy P ever come back ?
I hope not. Her character just went round and round in circles of being broke.
yes but she was so gorgeous.... the hottest red head in the UK ....
shes been in LA now for 3 years ? we ve not heard a peep !
you d think she d be in Frazier or some TV series as the new English nanny !
omg remember when Bianca got a degree in fashion? LMAO
She was the height of fashion with her silver puffer jacket.
Last time she was on EE I wanted a storyline where Bianca opened a
fashionable boutique and began to movie up in the fashion world....
but they seem obsessed with scruffy markets.... cafes and laundramats.....
In the end Pats thought..... sod this ... I could be over in LA soakin up the sun ....
Is there a reason we're still talking about Bianca?
If only sky gold would start broadcasting EE from episode 1
and show one episode every night ... 7 days a week.....
I might decide to go back to sky and subscribe for a package !
Is Ian ill or something?
Omg yesterday marked 1 year since Shabnam left!!
Omg I love when it's a proper big night like a hen do, and rather than go to a nice high street shop for a new outfit they get one off Donna for £8 with mate's rates
NO @ Denise/Kim
LMAO at that though.
Btw Denise, I'm not your mum. Cya.
I love it when a bombshell drops at the very end of the episode
Love Walford High. Massive corridors without a teacher for miles. It also appears to be a school where it's extremely easy to permanently exclude a child. Great research.
Not sure I like the Denise/Kim development. Emerald is so shit in the making st epic way.
Mitchell house is totes going tits up with train wreck Michelle in charge.
Mick is a colossal test. Can't drive his son to a seminar because he was clearly rushed off his feet in the Vic. And how dare Linda care for her sick mother when he needs a shag?
Lol that was a DTC stinkbomb of a twist, wasn't it?!
Shame as I thought it was a decent episode away from that, at least as good as it can be when it's so teen-centric. Shakil was pretty good, for instance, or at least was able to string a sentence together that remotely resembled the English language.
Also, how much did Pearl still those Fox-Hubbard scenes?!
I love how Denise is at the centre of the show though right now! It's about time she got this recognition and long may it continue. She's the main reason I've stuck with the show recently.
Pearl is the cutest baby they've had in years.
What a stupid way to handle it, but I suppose that will be the thing to bring Kim and Denise back from their feud. It just seems stupid they drop that and then Emerald swans back off to Montserrat.
omg what did i miss
denise died
Pearl killed her.
Babe is such a bitch
That was so unbelievable
I thought Linda and her mother were in Spain and Mick said it would cost a lot of money to transport Elaine back to England but now he says Linda has been in Watford for two months. I understand Linda is running her mother's pub for her but is Elaine still in Spain or did they manage to get her back?
You could see they were trying to make the police scenes seem edgy and tense but it just looked and felt ridiculous. Even Linda Henry couldn't save it.
Just get Sharon back in The Vic and be done with it.
Are we supposed to care? Because I can't. I'm finding myself just wanting like Sharon, or basically ANYONE to end up in the pub instead. I'm not really sure who but if it was a new family I hope they don't end up as the Carters mark II.
The bins still getting a mention *.*
Very much struggling the feel sorry for Mick there.
Damn, I used to use those lists to brace myself just in case Sonia was in the episode.
Tbh I'd like to see the fox-hubbards take the vic by storm instead tbh, they're definitely the most interesting and watchable family ee has had for a while, either that or they drag all the old slaters back and have them at the centre for a bit *.*
Kim can f*** right off she's going nowhere near the Vic.
belinda would have been a fantastic landlady
Vincent can be out wherever he wants *.*
Omg Belinda would have been AMAZING
Omg Belinda, Stacey, Jean and Kat all running the Vic tbh
a gay mans dream*.*
axing Belinda and keeping that c**t Shakil was probably a worse decision than killing Ronnie and Roxy
Good riddance... oh hang on... a second episode... is Lee leaving as well tonight
Not watched the second episode yet but I've just watched the first on catch-up - I refuse to believe that was a Darren Little episode; he's usually the best writer Eastenders currently has but that was terrible!!
I CURRRSEEEE YOUUUUU
A very fitting panto exit for a panto villain.
annette did the best with the utter shit she was given
Is it wrong that I really want Babe to get the last laugh somehow?
Johnny really lacks the charisma that any quiz master in the history of ever usually possesses.
Abi being a sandwich conneuseur *.*
I was fully expecting Babe to go into Slitheen mode.
Oh OF COURSE it's a remark about precious Linda that finally makes Mick snap and throw Babe out What a terrible exit, it was about time but it feels limp given this sort of thing has happened multiple times and only now does she get the boot. The character ran her course ages ago imo although it's a shame to lose such a great actress.
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a820944/eastenders-michelle-bex-fowler-preview-clip/
Yaaass sing it QUEEN
T Boy dead.
OMG BEX
The first episode was so much better than the second. Jack really is such a useless character.
I thought we were finally going to be rid of Sylvie.
Just been revived. Bring Dido back, Bex!
"Amy is a sponge and picks everything up"... so i'll chuck her grandmother out of the house and scream at her all night.
Omg as I type that AMY appearing and putting Jack in his place. I hate Jack SO MUCH it's unreal, what a vile person.
"Is wicked a word anymore" why do I stan michelle so much?
Also yes Jack is a c**t. Everything has to be perfect for Amy unless it's his behaviour and in that case anything goes...
Whitney is vile as well. I wish she'd go back to Bianca, does nobody in this show understand what depression is? Make him feel better why don't you by mentally undressing his dad 24/7.
You know something is out of place when Whitney manages to outcunt Jack in an episode.
Lee is totes being run out of town. All because his stupid f***ing family don't know shit about depression and only really care about themselves.
This Michelle should have turned up years ago.
Amy DRAGGED Jack
Omg why are all the best episodes of the week aired when I'm working?! Really great character-driven drama tonight. I know Whitney and Jack are very flawed characters at the moment but their scenes tonight with Lee and Glenda respectively were really compelling, from all involved. Same goes for Denise and Kim, plus I liked Michelle and Bex's scenes. This is what I want to see from Eastenders, not DTC-esque pointless twists or embarrassing panto rubbish we saw from Babe's exit.
has Michelle ever worked in the pub? that could be an interesting move for her
She did yeah. I don't remember seeing any scenes of her working there when I've watched old episodes, but I think she was working late at The Vic when she got shot in about 1994 (there was a pub siege from one of Grant's dodgy mates, with Grant, Sharon and Michelle there).
Michelle should be renamed as thqt is not her.
Also I have ALWAAAYS hated Neanderthal Jack. Oodious arrogant and somhow mma fighter man.
Just caught up. NOT Whitney basically screaming in Lee's face that she wants him to be more like his father even when she knows full well he's suffering with depression/obvious confidence issues. What an utter TWAT.
Jack is actually getting to Sonia levels of awfulness. I'm really gonna need him to take his leave.
YAS MICHELLE, YOU GO IN FOR THE CLAMP STAND!
LMAO Michelle. Her and Jay are gonna get together, I feel it.
I am annoyed a EE for telling someone who is depressed to Man Up they are handiling this story and character all wrong
Get it Michelle*.*
I was HOWLING at scarecrow Sharon. This Michelle is f***ing amazing! Susan who?
I'm actually willing Lee to kill himself just so that he can forever escape his awful family. So he's going to leave on Mock's advice? What, just like when Mick tried to pay Nancy to leave a year ago? What do your reckon Johnny will do wrong to expect the same treatment in 12 months time?
THIS ISNT YOUR SON IS IT
Michelle and Jay ewwww.
DEAD at the fact I only just clicked that Kim and Denise were the names of the girls in Vengaboys.
OMFG REALLY!?
kim and denise ruined
Hopefully this is where Mick will realise he's a shit father.
Maybe if Johnny actually tried opening his mouth whilst talking, he might not sound so f***ing wooden.
I know Coldplay's 'Everglow' drags on but it was playing when Lee left Whitney and was still playing when she said he had been a while!
Great scenes between Lee and Whitney again, as was the scenes between Lee & Patrick and Martin & Stacey - the latter really are such a great soap couple and I hope they stay together forever. The last scene was so powerful, to the point where I hope Lee doesn't show up again later in the week or a couple of weeks down the line or anything.
Was quite surprised to see Preston show up - did they actually employ an actual American actor?!
dead at Lee not even paying the bill before f***ing off
I know, poor Whitney! She's never paid for a f***ing thing in her life, she won't know what to do!
I have no sympathy for Whitney She expected to just brush away Lee's depression and carry on without helping or really doing anything. She only said "aw always here babe xxxx" tonight becasue it's valentine's day and that factors into her perfect vision of a 1950s together forever couple.
Mick is the worst though, the writing for him is abysmal :/ There isn't one single likeable quality about him, he's just been completely ruined since Kellie went on maternity leave and the only thing for him to do was get further involved in Lee's problems and marriage etc.
I know Mick and Linda are meant to be a strong couple who actually love each other unconditionally instead of having a series of affairs or whatever, but I can't wait for Linda to return and smack him in the mouth, particularly after he was going on about how hitting her was the worst thing he could have done and there was no returning from that, knowing full well that he had returned Whitney's FULL ON SNOG she planted on him when she was in hospital.
I know Whitney and Mick have been a bit awful to Lee, but you're acting like he's a saint. He's been awful to his family over the last few months from allowing Nancy to take the blame to Ollie through to all the lies, debts and let's not forget the Abi incident as well.
yeah Lee has been a grade A c**t too. My mum has suffered from depression all her adult life and she never behaved the way he has.
He really has! I'm still bitter over Nancy getting ostracised over the Ollie accident by Mick for weeks, yet Lee got a slap on the wrist for robbing them, having Johnny battered and putting Ollie in danger.
Nancy was to blame for Ollie's accident, although she was unnecessarily ostracised, and Lee, albeit an absolute idiot for planning the robbery in the first place - something that wasn't a direct link with his depression and should never be considered as such - did at least feel remorse and owned up to it. Saint Mick doesn't realise what a hypocrite he's been and Whitney doesn't realise how her behaviour affects things.
I too can understand why Mick would struggle to sympathise, but what kind of father completely overlooks the fact his son has just said he tried to kill himself and not see that perhaps he should try talking to him? It's interesting that Mick and Linda fell head over heals for Nancy with her epilepsy and Ollie with the effects from his accident, yet the family fail to realise that depression is just as serious as any physical condition.
Tbf to Shirley, she has been learning of the information from Mick's very one sided, perception and it's easy to see why, having been told someone has organised a robbery and hit his wife, that she would automatically assume the worse in Lee. Plus, as you said Leonardo, she does seem to be overcompensating for her f*** ups with Dean. It doesn't make it right, of course, and I'd have thought Shirley would be someone who would at least attempt to talk to Lee, having had a couple of heart-to-hearts before hand with him.
'I never raised you like that' was all crap anyway. He may not have raised his children to be violent but the emotional pressure he lays on them has already caused Lee and Nancy to develop a violent streak.
I know Lee isn't a saint but I'm more infuriated with the fact that not one family member even acts like depression is an illness. I do feel like Nancy would probably have been the only one to give a shit about it.
Expect a guest appearance from Blue's Lee Ryan soon: http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a821345/blue-lee-ryan-joining-eastenders/
Ugggggghhhhh f*** off.
LMAO! Hopefully it won't be as disastrous as Denise Van Outen's guest appearance.
Christ.
Woody the Woodpecker would do an better job than Lee Ryan hence his characters name.
We saw enough of him back on Celebrity Big Brother with the series of the love triangle and his walking willy syndrome.
I can't
I'm done
BYE
ciao adios i'm done
f*** off
Some great Dot moments tonight
To Ian "You are all stick and bones"
And there was Ian sitting on the chair fat as anything.
Anyhow, can't believe Dot is 90
Quite surprised at Michelle thinking she'd get away with another teaching job after what happened and then acting shocked that they'd checked her references
But anyway, HELLO PRESTON *.*
Danny Dyer has apparently been made to go on a break from filming for a few weeks because of his worrying drunken behaviour at the NTAs!! Every Lee Ryan shaped cloud has a silver lining :')
What LMAO!!
OMG WHAT WAS TJIS BEHAVIOUR!!!
I wouldn't be surprised if Danny Dyer & Kellie Bright left at the end of their current contract (so towards Christmas). I can't imagine they're happy being sidelined and badly written compared with their treatment under DTC. Hopefully taking Johnny's awful actor with them as well.
Shirley's become too much of a supporting character to Mick and the others, so it might be good for her as well.
I'd be extremely sad to see Kellie Bright go tbh.
I would hate Kelly Bright to leave, the Carters as a family are crumbling and to be honest they have peaked. Their appeal is now reduced and if the Mick and Whitney affair rumours are true it goes against everything Mick and Linda were about.
That said, Danny Dyer is popular too many, i have always liked Mick and maybe because he is so the opposite to Danny himself is why he works. If Kelly and Danny stay with the show, it will be interesting to see what direction they will move forward with.
I am totally unsure about the casting of Lee Ryan, he is not someone i like but i dont know his acting skills so i will wait and judge his appearances on that.
ferrets, otters, what an opener
Who the hell goes "Lee" then shouts "Son"?
Alright Im natalie Cassidy, just doing this now, just taking off 'tis baby #sonia
So glad Lee is finally free of his wretched father.
Good final scenes for Lee and I hope it satisfied those who felt Lee's storyline was starting to be shown in a bad light. He may not be 'fixed', but Lee was in the strongest position he's been in a long time. He knew he had to escape from the situations and circumstances that were bringing negativity to his life and he knew he needed to find purpose in his life again, like what he had in the army. He stood up to Mick, putting his foot down with what needed to be done, and he was able to push beyond his feelings for Whitney because he knew they brought out the worst in each other whilst he was dealing with his depression. In the end, Lee was the strongest.
I hope that Preston trying to make Michelle jealous by flirting with Bex just reinforces to Michelle that Preston really is just a child, instead of her realising she "can't be without him" or whatever crap it is.
Lee's exit was ok but i think i would have prefered if they had addressed his depression from the point of view his family seen it as an illness and understood why he has done what he done.
Sean O'Connor does crap exit storylines, i can say i honestly have not enjoyed any of his exits so far but then again im not overly a fan of anything he has done with the show so far as i struggle to watch the episodes in full. Kim and Denise scenes are all i enjoy at the moment.
LikePrezton would go for Chicken Run Michelle anyway!!!
If they had kept her dark and beautiful maybe I woulda believed it.
Was Michelle that beautiful before though? Debatable.
Omfg at how Original Michelle looks now!!
Put on weight and cut off her flowing brown lockes for a blond epixie cut!!
https://www.google.es/amp/www.ok.co.uk/celebrity-feature/569452/remember-eastenders-michelle-fowler-this-is-what-original-actress-susan-tully-looks-like-now/amp
No wonder they chose Chicken Run woman as she kinda looks similar to current Michelle who obvs let herself go!
So actually Michelle and Michelle 2.0 look like each other
2 years since Eastenders started to go downhill and got stuck in a rut we found out Bobby killed Lucy!
But, more importantly, 12 years since one of Chrissie's most iconic lines - "NOW YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE ME!!!!11!!!".
Wasn't Chrissie River Song?
"Susan Tully has changed A LOT since first appearing on the show 31 years ago"
I hate articles like this, I mean it's been 32 years since then and 22 years since she left, she isn't gonna look the exact same is she?!
EastEnders can survive without Danny Dyer.
I'm in the Lake District now which is where I was around two years ago (I was back by the Bobby reveal) and I remember looking forward to catching up the live week episodes. This time I won't be hurrying through anything I've missed.
Remember that time Ian called Whitney a "walking STD"?
Denise smacking Keegan *.*
That felt good.
I'm sorry, but what kind of stupid even is Whitney? How on Earth did she think she could stay in the flat she could barely afford when her husband with a job lived with her now? Not to mention how she never offered to give it up to help Mick out with Lee's debts.
How come Trish is no longer a bitch like she was with Lola?
Shirley calling Abi a scrubber made me cackle.
Oh, and Helen may be my new all time favourite character.
Dot looking at bushes on the internet.
Michelle 2.0 still a shit character.
Bex coming for her Janine moment still. Mark my words!
Bex to be the new Stacey plz
Was Jack really gone long enough for Dot to drive all the way to the garden centre and halfway home? He was only picking Ricky up from school. And it's not as if Dot left immediately either.
eastenders is so shit rn
I'm loving Denise. If she wasn't centre of the show right now, I'd be in no hurry to watch.
I think she's now become my all-time fave Eastenders character.
"WALFORD'S VERY OWN NELSON MANDELA" is the first time I've laughed at Kim in bloody AGES Her characterisation is a mess though, she's been a knob for a while and then suddenly she's the OTT comedy pastiche again.
I agree about Denise though, it's absolutely brilliant to see her shine after being left in the shadows for so long!
michelle not having any of Bex's shit tho*.* quuen
Bex and Preston though.
yasss michelle
Omg. Ian in the nuddy, poor Stacey with that image on her mind
Ew!, Michelle and Preston.
Is Stacey seeing Ian naked supposed to be a new recurring gag?
Jack is an absolute mess of a character. I just want Charlie to turn up and whisk Matthew away. Again we see Jack acting father of the year, lording it over everyone and yet it was about 12 hours since he'd left Matthew with Dot and he only found out walking into the pub (and Ricky and Amy were with who at this point?)
Speaking of which, I love Abi's new things of storming into buildings to shout at people and then leave.
The chip on Kim's shoulder *.*
I loved the #HurricaneAbi easter egg (at least I think it was) in reference to #HurricaneSharon
OH f*** OFF THEN MICHELLE.
Honestly I thought the woman had seen sense but clearly she thinks it's alright to start sleeping with him again now that he's in the UK and the age of consent in over 16 here, despite the fact that, as far as the law states, back in the US, she took advantage, groomed him and should be on a register and in an orange jumpsuit in a cell.
-x-
I did enjoy the throwback to this classic Beale scene though:
Jack is by far the worst character in while who does he think he is literally
I honestly thought they were going to have Preston rape Michelle. But I was face palming as soon as she headed upstairs with him.
His behaviour was pretty creepy and very Dean-esque. It's difficult to see why Michelle would go there. Yes, he's an attractive young teenager but thus far is totally unlikeable.
Yeah I have absolutely no idea what attracted Michelle to him, even if we pretend he was over the age of consent. He is attractive and I can buy him making her feel young and sexy, but Michelle wouldn't have abused her position of trust, plus she's always had a thing for older guys.
No matter who the show tries to make the sympathetic or manipulative one, this is a mess and I actually hope Jenna Russell leaves the role when her contract expires.
Preston is legit like... PERFECT visually. Shame about the "personality".
But yeah I really think they aren't going the right way about this storyline and her characterisation. They probably should have eased her in like Kathy, but it seems they're trying to return to Michelle's heyday of being a mess and everything going wrong, I know it wouldn't really fit with her big hyped return but she could have had a low-key romance storyline, say with Max, and then maybe an illness as a bigger storyline when she was settled in.
I get the horrible feeling that Keegan's revenge on Bex will be very similar to Dean and Linda's storyline.
Well that was f***ing boring. Actually fell asleep, no joke.
Good lord that was dull. Keegan single handedly ruins any episode he's in pretty much. He's like a really bad Waterloo Road "villain", and Shakil is just a spineless knob and a wet blanket. I also give 0 f***s about the pub crap, I just want Mick to lose it and for someone else to get in the Vic.
I am looking forward to where Bex goes after this, she's one of the only reasons to keep watching along with Denise, fantastic young actress.
As much as I hate the storyline itself, I did really enjoy the scenes between Bex and Michelle in the Mitchell iamspamspamami Similarly I enjoyed the scene with Kush and Denise, even if Kush telling Keegan that "isn't how you treat women" was ironic as f*** when you consider how misogynistic the show has been recently.
Those two scenes saved the episode, although I will always take dull as dishwater than embarrassing 'comedy'.
I won't be in a hurry to catch up then God the show is so dull atm. How have they let it get in such a bad state again?! This is reminding me of 2012-13, when everyone was glad to get rid of Bryan Kirkwood and then Lorraine Newman's love and warmth happened. Seems to be the same with DTC and Sean O'Connor.
As long as the all American boy Preston keeps doing his thing then I am happy,
Quickly replacing Kush as 1st hunk
Waterloo Road and Grange Hill since when did EastEnders go all that?
It's a shame Whitney couldn't have been this efficient at raising money when she was dumping all that responsibility on her husband so that she could fund her 1950s housewife lifestyle. Are we actually supposed to be liking her? I found her quite sickening today tbh.
Kim was all sorts of amazing today. Exterminating circumstances.
I'm finding Preston's continued presence in the show to be a bit bizarre at this point. There's really no valid reason for him to have been hanging around the square for days, or even why he's there in the first place! In reality I'm sure Michelle's family/friends would be suspicious, as opposed to casually having him on the stall as if he's a longtime friend of the family, and just accepting that he's taken up residence at the Mitchell's house. It just doesn't ring true to me.
Whitney was just behaving like Linda today, quite strange. I'm completely bored with everything to do with the Carters (what's left of them...) and the Vic!
Watching EastEnders is a force of habit, but it certainly doesn't make for essential viewing at the moment. Really hope it starts to improve before too long.
Good lord they were hyping up Keegan's revenge on Bex for... that. Absolutely ridiculous, it's a shame for an amazing actress like Bex is (or could be, at least) is lumbered with a watered down Waterloo Road "storyline".
The story I'm most invested in, actually, is the conflict between Shirley and Tina in regards to looking after Sylvie. The scene where Shirley revealed the extent of how she couldn't cope was great and I kept thinking about how Tina wanted Stan to stay with the family when he was ill, even though it wasn't mentioned. It's refreshing for characters to remain true to themselves in a plot for once. I hope this story comes to the forefront a bit more - it doesn't have to be a copy of the Ashley storyline on Emmerdale, there's already different perspectives and avenues to take this and I think it is good for soaps to have different leading storylines, but this is more on track with taking a realistic topic and making it heartfelt, character-lead and gritty.
I just caught up on Monday and Tuesday - wow. Why has this show turned into an absolute bore?! It's tragic.
Derek looking likely to return to Grange Hill, I mean Eastenders.
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a822475/eastenders-bringing-back-derek-harkinson-ian-lavender-returns-set-walford/
Watch him be the grandad to Thing 1 or Thing 2 (one of Louise's friends, I don't know or care for their names).
I don't think in the days where you had Michelle, Ian and Sharon who were at high school you had scene between them at the school did you?
Lisa Faulkner (won Celebrity Masterchef, appeared in Brookside and Holby City) has joined the cast.
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a822543/lisa-faulkner-joins-eastenders-celebrity-masterchef-champ-and-spooks-star/
I live for drunk Denise and drunk Shirley tbh
I'm surprised they actually kept Denise stick by her decision and it was nice to see Kim finally agree with her. I'm glad we get to see an adoption carried out properly and portrayed as a good option.
I wanted to kill something during all of Mick's scenes though.
Exactly!!
Usually soaps are written ny the Catholic Brigade with abortions demonised and adoptions falling through for faaamlerre
Whitney wearing Linda's clothes. Oh dear
Didn't realise Vincent was a part-time Britney impersonator...
!!!!
Bex was fab tonight
Queen Sylvie slaying everyone tonight
Your willy. YOUR WILLY SHAKIL!
I just can't!
It hasn't been like this since Sonia's BOOOOBS gate.
apparently sonia is coming back very soon
Tbh it's not been much better without Sonia than with her. Pretty worrying.
"it doesn't even know how old it is"
oh shirley
this ep is actually really good.
I lost it at Mad Stace! Please someone gif that!
Loved the scene where Honey and Billy were surprised Shirley hadn't been in prison before! Maybe they remember Bad Girls?
i was 100% sure she had actually been to prison before:lol:
Carmel was great in the scene at the kitchen table with Shakil and I was quite touched by her monologue, but she had to spoil it by going off at the Fowlers and using Stacey's bipolar against her. Kush was right to hand her her arse later and Stacey was right to rip her a new one.
Stacey was everything in those scenes.
YOU WANNA SEE MENTAL?! *shakes Carmel like a rag doll*
Queen.
Annette looking a lot more glam than Babe
Danny's so f***ing hot, I can't even
Stacey battering Carmel was incredible The real Stacey is finally back!
Yay for an advert, but I'll be happy when this storyline is done and hopefully forgotten.
this is just so awks.
Lol at Martin, just about to tuck into his lunch at that trailer
Mick is such a manchild, throwing strops when he doesn't get his own way but, when he does (like someone other than himself going to prison), he's happy as Larry.
Waiting for Shirley to tell her cellmate "piss off, you bastard" tbh.
Mick is unbearable, Whitney is not as bad but still awful. Stacey is slaying, Honey's random 2 second scenes are life-giving and of course Carmel's hat stole the show.
Carmel's hat has been the highlight of 2017 tbh.
And why can't Mick just 'man up' like he was so insistent his suicidal son should?
Carmel is by far the best on the show right now but with the state the show is in its not saying much. I can safely say this current era is my least fave era of the show. Im just finding it incredibly boring and stale at the moment and i as i have said before there is no signs of anything great coming. For me its really starting to look that Sean O'Connor was a terrible decision as executive producer.
I think they really need to get someone in who knows what they are doing as the longer SOC stays the harder it will be for the next executive producer to turn the show around. For many characters its like the life has been totally sucked out of them.
I'm really at the end of my tether with this show now. Mick's ongoing debt problems and the "will they/won't they" crap with Whitney is getting insufferable to watch, we're no nearer to finding out wtf Max is supposed to be up to even though he's been back a while now, the Michelle/Preston stuff is awful and I have no idea where they're going with it? The constant references to Shaki's willy/endless scenes of Bex crying is getting very tiresome. And Jack. Just...Jack in general.
The only interesting part of the show is Slyvie and Tina but I only feel they're paying them more attention now because it's gonna lead up to one of them (or maybe even both) departing.
Add the random casting of Lee Ryan and this random obsession with Pauline Fowler's BFF Derek (he's on his way back), I'm just a bit done with it all.
Wait until Sonia's back. Then we'll all have much more to moan about,
Jack is the worst EE character EVER. Always wins too as producers love him.
I'm actually kinda looking forward to Sonia's return. Remember she did actually improve when SOC's influence started coming through just before she went on maternity leave. I was actually cheering her on during the "I hope she bites ya!" scene with Shirley.
Apparently, after the next couple of weeks, we hit the point where the bus crash actually should have aired, so I'm hopeful the quality will improve once we've passed that point. At the moment, we're out of sync and all this should have been build up to the crash.
Yeah I'm the same definitely, Eastenders used to be the one that I could not miss but now I just watch it if I happen to be cooking downstairs and chuck the TV on. I don't go out of my way to watch it and I don'tcatch up, it's just so dull. I couldn't give less of a shit about Mick's debt, which doesn't help. The saving graces for me are probably Carmel, Denise and Bex, but the former doesn't have a real storyline and the latter two are kind of going round in circles with what they have.
I recall being very conflicted during Sonia's rant at Shirley. Everything she said was correct and yet she's f***ing SONIA therefore automatically awful.
C**t
Again, I feel like they want me to feel sorry for Mick, but it's just impossible. He's such a child. How rude of Linda to go and help her ill mother instead of staying behind to shag all of Mick's problems away.
I love how he skipped over Lee's suicide attempt, the fact the he constantly told his son he wasn't good enough for Whitney, the fact that he ordered Lee to leave and the fact that he kissed Whitney again in the hospital.
And Whitney has also become such a cretin. It's creepy how she hangs around her ex husband's family when she has actual family across the square.
It was so great to have Linda back, I wish she was back permanently again. Her visit did prove how dependent Mick is on Linda, which is why he latched on to Whitney whilst she was away, and how Whitney wants Mick all to herself because she sees him as this big protector, which she feels she needs due to her insecurities based on her past. It's interesting stuff but it's just a shame Mick and Whitney are such unsympathetic, unlikable characters right now.
I'm so glad Linda knows everything now! Good to see her back tonight
The late 90's - 2003 was when EastEnders was very good. 2001 & 2002 in particular were the best years and that was when every episode was entertaining, not just the Christmas specials or the ones where people get killed off.
Rumoured today that Sylvie Carter is to be killed off and it may not be her Alzheimer's that's the cause
thank f***
bex is such a star
Did Mick really refer to his depressed + suicidal son as a lying wifebeater? SO FATHERLY, MICK!
Oh and the whole hinting that Lauren is going to cheat on Steven...nobody gives one iota of a f***.
I think anyone would cheat on Steven if they met a guy like that by the photocopier
Was also quite taken aback at seeing Linzi at the school again after randomly disappearing after everything with Jay
Bex is incredible. Can Jasmine please get recognition at the Soap Awards?
Bex is outstanding but good LORD the two "actresses" behind Alex and Madison are absolutely horrendous.
OMFG YES!!!!!!!!!
Yolande? I thought it was Claudette in Kim's 2009 hairstyle wig.
Yolande is like Honey in that you can't really understand why they axed her.
Well that was riveting.
Well it's good to see Johnny finally getting a storyline of sorts but putting him and Ben together feels really lazy to me, the only two gay guys on the square... makes you wonder why they didn't recast Johnny sooner and just skip Paul entirely as he was clearly just a stand-in after Sam Strike left :')
Who is Yolande?
Also do they know yet Fat Boy is dead as a dodo?
What happened, why were police at Michelles house. Surely Preston was not arrested just for refusing to leave the Vic. Can't Mick have chucked him out. Plus where are Phil and Sharon?
Good LORD there is literally MINUS chemistry between Ben and Johnny. I hate when they chuck together the only two gay characters in a soap just because. They could have just cast someone for Ben and written Johnny out. I think Johnny needs the storyline more but I want it more for Ben They should just not have brought Johnny back. He can't even do a shot properly, he was chugging that shot for about a minute lmfao. Also why was Bex wearing something that looks like it came from Sonia's wardrobe?!
I think there's room for both Ben and Johnny but I agree they don't work together and it feels like they've just shoved the two remaining gay characters together because they're each other's only options. I mean, Johnny goes to uni in London, it's 2017 so surely there will be ways he can meet guys, Ben's not the only one within the local area
I mean he could meet guys at uni if Mick let him actually go instead of using him to cover so he can ogle Whitney and neglect his share of caring for Slyvie But all of it is just lazy writing really.
the entire thing surrounding the Carters is just totally silly at this point, I'm really excited for Linda's full-time return and she can kick their butts into gear. Last week proved that she really is the glue that holds them together.
Is Whitney really judging Lauren for POTENTIALLY cheating when she kissed her husband's father...twice?
Return for Cora http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a824191/eastenders-bringing-back-cora-cross-ann-mitchell-returns-cast-changes/
Isn't Steven gay anyway??
YAS @ THE SPOILER!
Prestons acting is AWFUL
Given that Sharon knows about Preston, why doesn't Michelle just phone her and tell her Denny's being a brat?
Whitney is the worst. That final Carter scene with all the faux panic and emotion was absolutely hilarious.
She doesn't know he's shown up though.
Nancy's been hit by a bus and Mick is all panicked. Wasn't he calling her the anti-christ this time last year?
Tbf Nancy should recover before Mick arrives, assuming she possesses Whitney's healing powers. Back at work after having a bus dropped on you.
as you do!
Ooh thing hotting up for next week it seems!
Selfish Nancy, going off getting hit by cars so Mick has to fly over there and spend money for the tickets. Inconsiderate or what?
Preston being visual perfection is the only good thing about this "storyline". Good lord what a way to maul the legacy of Michelle. There's 0 chemistry, nothing to care about and it's just going round in circles. We all know Sharon will just not really care that she hit Denny after initially being furious. I do think Jenna works as Michelle, but wtf are they doing to her?!
I just can't see where this Michelle/Preston shite is going. She's obviously going to be ostracized by everybody...and turn to drink more...then what?
Yeah it'll be what I said and Sharon won't care or she'll like almost die from alcohol or something and then they'll be like "it's ok Preston is 18 now xxxxx" Although they've done the alcohol thing with both Phil and Lauren this decade alone, it's still looking like that again.
yasss bex sang it gurl*.*
Screaming at Sylvie calling Dot and old hag.
Michelle is such a train wreck, I love her.
I've loved Sylvie in tonight's episode but I fully suspect she'll die this week. Perhaps something to do with the extension lead and the CD player that got an awful lot of camera attention, tied in with the leaky roof.
A while back,Mick said when the pub is open, one of the licensees must be on the premises. Mick,Linda and Shirley are all away so Whitney & co. are breaking the law unless one of them has been added without us being told. If Max is trying to get the pub closed down, this is his opportunity.
Michelle literally can't do anything right.
That ending
The fallout wasn't as high energy and impactful as I was hoping, although I did like the part where Martin confronted Michelle about not ever returning to Walford despite her dad, mum and brother all dying. I also felt really touched by the scene of Tina and Sylvie by the jukebox; that Dusty song never fails to pull at my heartstrings and Luisa (Tina) is proving to be one of the show's finest actresses, which is a complete U-turn to what she was like with Sonia.
The ending had next to no impact on me. I did think she'd run over Preston and it would be a rehash of Jamie Mitchell's death, so I'm glad it wasn't quite like that. Jenna does play a good drunk, too.
At last something interesting happened! The fallout should've been more dramatic, imo. But there were some good moments.
Very convenient that Kush went to the chippy in time for the crash. I wonder what's going to happen next ;o
Michelle and the Woodentops. Worst soap comeback of all time. Obvious that she was going to crash into Beales. She'll remain in the show and no-one gets killed off.
I just find it hard to get that excited about today's episode, they'll probably ostracise her for a bit and then she'll hit the bottle and they'll feel guilty and it'll all be fine. Nobody will die, if nobody died in the massive bus crash that gutted half the square there'll probably be 0 repercussions for anyone but Michelle from this one It sounds stupid to moan about something happening given our feelings towards this more "boring" era but because of that it now just feels like when something does happen, I constantly feel deflated from it and like I don't care because it's clear little will come of it!
Max will lift the car and save Kathy & Kush anyway, then run off to The Shard to tell some random guy what happened and then it will be business as usual in the next episode with another themed pub night to fix the roof.
So true.
Luisa Bradshaw-White is brilliant btw I agree <3 It just goes to show that being given the right material can make talented actors shine and they can only do so much with the crap they're given.
Yeah Tina is so much more likeable now, and her scenes with Sylvie have been very touching. It will be a shame to see Sylvie go after the last couple of weeks if the rumours are true.
Tina and Sylvie have been wonderful over the past couple of weeks
Michelle almost literally a car crash, I love it.
Can't see Kush, Kathy or Michelle being killed off tho so I'm not sure of the point. I guess they could do a 'Kush will never walk again' storyline where he's running marathons again by June...
Well Whitney had a bus dropped on her and was able to travel by the next day, so anything can happen.
Stacey has become such a fab mum!
omg @ Michelle.
Also the camera work was fab tonight
Impressed with the episode! Martin's reaction was what i expected of him although a little underwhelming where his chat with Michelle lasted all of 5 minutes and he was completely calm by then.
The crash at the end though was superb. Nothing will happen to Kush but it's likely this'll be what brings him and Denise together
I struggle to take to Michelle, i am unsure if its anything to do with the actress or if its simply the character but she is just so miserable that i don't enjoy her. That said, there is little to nothing to enjoy about the show for a long time now. The Tina and Sylvie scenes were lovely, i thought they were superb and i enjoyed seeing Linda back. But everything else is a struggle.
Surely the cast must be scratching their heads with the storylines at the moment and hoping that a new executive producer steps in soon.
Did anyone notice the random crew member wearing a beanie but with a head torch during the crash?
That was very sad to see with Sylvie's death.
Poor Sylv
Poor Sylvie, I really felt for her.
Please get rid of Preston. Very wooden actor.
What an episode!!!
Sylvie I had a feeling that was coming after the scene when the extension lead was taken out, it felt too important to have been random. It was a really lovely couple of episodes of Sylvie and Tina, so gutted at that ending
That was a sad ending for Sylvie
Hated the character but her acting was super
Both Luisa and Linda were superb, it was quite close to when that firefighter's wife in Corrie died though, she had Alzheimer's and put the toaster in the sink to "wash" it. A great episode though, as I said above Luisa has been brilliant recently given a chance to shine with this and it's so much more impactful and shocking than Slyvie slipping away slowly as she gets worse, especially as it was supposed to be a nice final night before she got put in a home, that made me tear up a bit
I was in tears as I knew what was going to happen when she put the radio on the bath and the lead running to the bathroom, it was so traumatic.
Shirley is probably due back from the blocks, on the back of Sylvie's death.
Oh yay Michelle 2.0 is still in it. Sorry she becomes across the most dull, manipulative, nasty character for quite a while. The whole Michelle/Preston was boring.
I actually squealed a little when Sharon appeared at the start of the episode. Loving the 2001 style hair and fuck yeah at her kicking Preston's arse back to America!
Well...I'll miss Preston's face.
If anyone can sort out all the shite going on it's Sharon *.*
Screaming at Johnny though "I cared I sat and spoke to her once and found a photo for her!!!1!!!"
Oh also I rarely "ship" characters but I am SO here for Denise and Kush, idk why but I love them as a pairing!
Seeing Kush almost naked was lovely.
Kush: "Mum I'm naked!"
Carmel: "I've seen it all before!!"
What kind of f***ing mother says that to her grown ass son?!
Finally some new characters announced
http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2017-04-02/christopher-timothy-and-maggie-steed-join-eastenders
Christopher Timothy and Maggie Steed joining as Ted and Joyce Murray.
Can't say I'm too excited by their description
Omg Mac from Doctors. I know the name maggie Steed but glancing on Wiki I haven't actually seen her in anything.
They don't sound that interesting though, I agree. They seem like Pam and Les types who'll be axed in less than 2 years.
Bargain bin Pam and Les
If you're gonna cast Les and Pam types, you may as well have not axed Les and Pam
I always felt axing Pam and Les was a mistake, especially Pam as she fitted very well into the square and built relationships. The introduction of these new characters as many have said looks like Pam and Les part 2.
lmao that was just rude what they all done to Shakil in the cafe. That derek guy never even apologised for jumping the queue
Also, Derek, Kush was just hit by a car, how is he going to arrange a sponsored cycle?
Derek is a knob.
Stanning that nurse thirsting after Preston, relatable queen *.*
The nurse is the best new character they've had in ages! Love her already
Why is Ian worrying about paying to repair the damage to the chippy? He should be able to claim from Phil's car insurance, third party liability covers damage to property as well as another car.
Oh Sharon. Michelle sorry she is so dull and depressing. My two year old cousin criednwhen he saw her on the telly.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Presumably Michelle wasn't insured to drive the car
thirsty asian nurse to be made a regular pls
I can't believe that Sharon just forgave Michelle for hitting her son! Because she knows why she did it? Michelle hit Dennis because he called her a pedo, not because of the blackmailing. I also despise the "poor me poor me" act with Michelle. She really needs to go.
It also pisses me off that Ian's health storyline is merely for comedic value.
I feel like because it's Michelle the legend they're like "they can't just outcast her" so nothing matters :/ But in that case they just shouldn't have gone down this route with her. They've gone on about the huge consequences for the crash but the only thing that really had any impact tonight was Tina's grief and obv Sylvie dying had 0 to do with the crash. Carmel will stop sulking about Denise and Kush when she comes back in a couple of days and Michelle seems to be being accepted with open arms back into Sharon's home. All that's changed is Preston is gone but he didn't particularly bring much to the show.
Speaking of consequences, why is Michelle so above the law? She barely got a slap on the wrist for sleeping with a student who was under the age of consent and now there's no suggestion she'll be paying the price for drug-drink driving which resulted in potentially killing two people and destroying a building.
i miss Pam
Why does Lauren's bit on the side give me creepy Will from Hollyoaks vibes (but I still fancy him)?
The long haired wi fi geek was that Joseph
I won't say I'm offended
http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a825249/eastenders-return-charlie-cotton-declan-bennett-filming-jake-wood-spoilers/
Why couldn't he have shown up on NYD though?!
Last nights episode was brutal. Outside of Michelle being an absolute mess and Lauren wanting the guy with those hideous glasses, nothing is happening. I mean, those scenes with Jay and Ben trying to find a flatmate...wtf
f*** ME BEX IS INCREDIBLE
I just full on stan her whenever she's on screen.
Michelle is such a twat
I adore her
Tina seems to have gotten over her mother's death quickly. Last week she cried for only one day and now a week later she's dabbing with Dennis in the iamspamspamami
Nice little touch mentioning the Grand National win there
This has gone so boring so quick again
I hate Carmel.
They were consistent with Michelle's bruising but just how long was she on that bench for? Her hair grew so much in that time and she even managed to get a hairdresser to pop over and chop it off again before Sharon got there.
I cant stand Michelle, she is over the top miserable i cant take to her at all.
Christ almighty, was last nights episode quite possibly one of the dullest of all time? Lady Di being sick, Michelle's daily references to her mother, endless droning on about the council, Ben and Jay being general irritants, and Max being really random and not intimidating at all...can something just happen PLEASE
Those 2 girls need a good slapping, plus its getting old, and Denise and Kush need to get a room
The bullying storyline is honestly breaking my heart! I wish they would hurry up and end it
I feel really sorry for Bex, the ending in particular (although I'd find it odd that Stacey wouldn't call for Bex to come down first rather than bring them straight up).
Totally rolled my eyes when Martin interrupted Bex's busking, surely any parent would be proud to see their kid wowing a crowd like that? They certainly wouldn't interrupt...
Lmao at her thinking she's it but walking round with tomato soup on her jumper all day :') It's an awful storyline to watch, it's fab to see Jasmine Armfield prove herself as possibly the best actress in the show bar Stacey and Denise but it's not something I enjoy watching. The two odious little cows need to get their comeuppance.
The writing for Louise is absolutely shocking. The writers need to decide whether they want her to be bullying storyline Louise or Mitchell household Louise.
Ikr! She could be so fab if she was strong and sassy, but there's so much squandered potential when she's just Alex and Madison's lapdog, It's probably meant to be that it makes the bullying stuff more harrowing that Louise has joined and Bex doesn't have that support, but it makes little sense when she was so strong as a pair with Bex before those two showed up.
Sonia is back next week.
hype
Yeah they really don't know what they're doing with Louise. She has the potential to be such a good soap bitch (much like Lucy before they killed her off) but she's a bit all over the place!
But of a continuity error tonight with Patrick 'returning from Trinidad' when he was in last night's episode talking about the Grand National. Must've been an incredibly short trip
Also the sooner Madison and Alexandra get what's coming to them the better. Those two literally make my blood boil
The scene with Michelle in the launderette trying to get the cat and she finds the photograph with Pauline was pathetically cringe-worthy. Michelle is unbearable to watch and I believe its universal that everyone has hated her return storyline. Kim and the Easter shopping scenes were joyful to watch in what is generally becoming a show that becomes harder to enjoy by the week. The bullying storyline is probably the best storyline going on and I look forward to those horrible odious girls getting caught out. Rebecca is a solid actress and she is really strong in her scenes. Louise, I agree, the scriptwriters appear clueless with her, you can’t work out if she is a worse bully than the other 2 as she was her friend or what is even going on with her.
Poor Bex
Unfortunately I can't even say I feel that much for Bex. Why was she planning on going to the cinema with Alex and Mads in the first place? Why did she just accept Mads' apologising out of the blue and accept her excusing herself because 'she was scared Alex would turn on her', when it was quite clear she took pleasure in bullying and taunting Bex - it was her to actually attacked and half stripped Bex in the toilets, for instance? How could anyone be so naive as to not know those 'truffles' had been tampered with? It's awful to watch these horrid things happen to Bex, but she just doesn't do herself any favours and it makes it hard to invest in this storyline.
On a positive note, I was really happy when Stacey suddenly announced she was pregnant! We have barely heard anything about Martin and Stacey trying for a baby since the bus crash, so it was a pleasant surprise to see it snuck into tonight's episode.
Louise makes no sense. She can't stand there laughing with the others and then just stick a conflicted look on her face like she gives a shit. If there were actually any scenes of the girls threatening her to join in or else then I'd understand.
Kim and Vincent are giving me life atm. Vincent especially is underused.
I never know what to make of Louise in these scenes. It kind of comes across like Louise and Bex are still meant to be really good friends but then she'll literally just stand there when Bex is being bullied. Why does Louise consciously go out of her way to hang out with the two of them? I get the idea of "I don't want to end up being bullied myself" thing, even if it is being dreadfully portrayed on screen, but you'd think, regardless, that she'd just stay out of their way as much as possible, not constantly be by their side.
I agree it makes no sense for Louise to try and stop them smashing the guitar but then she takes part in the truffle thing.
I also don't understand why when Bex told the school headmistress about the assault in the toilet, the headmistress didn't inform Martin and Stacey.
As fab as it is for Bex to shine, this really should end soon. I think Alex and Maddison had a shelf life of about 3 weeks, I know bullying goes on a lot longer but you'd think by now Louise would have grown a pair or they'd have been suspended when the school knew about them assaulting Bex in the toilets. It's just horrible to watch and I know it's important to cover too but those two make me want to smash my TV every time they're on screen, and it's really ruining Louise too.
Biggest plot hole so far tho is that a ex probably would have smelt the cat poo. Cat poo has the worst stench of all poos.
Have the Beale's forgotten that Lucy was killed on Good Friday? I mean, the Beales mention her every 5 minutes...
QUEEN JANE BACK TO SLAY EVIL DRAGON SONIA'S RETURN!!1
I wouldn't let Abi in a club either :')
o great jean is back.............
Has Bex tried to tell Martin and Stacey about the bullying? I honestly can't remember but it seems odd to phone Sonia instead of the two parents she lives with. It'd probably have made more sense if Shakil had phoned Sonia telling her he was worried about her. Or if Bex had gone away to stay with her mum.
I never thought I'd say this, but it was great to have Sonia back!
It does show how awful things have gotten, that we are praising the return of f***ing SONIA.
Lmaoooo I said the same to my mum earlier!
It's written a bit stupidly, I agree surely she'd have told Stacey at least as they've always tried to portray her as the one that Bex goes to if she feels her dad would deal with it badly.
i will never give sonia praise
I've missed the Sonia hate.
HURRICANE SONIA *.*
And then we got walking loose willy syndrome, Lee Ryan joining as Woody this week....
Just when things couldn't get worse.
I wonder if Lee will be as atrocious as Sarah Harding
is such a thing possible?
I'd say no it isn't possible but given the state of Eastenders at the moment I wouldn't challenge them with that for fear of giving them any ideas
Sharon falling into a hook-a-duck pool for Scene of the Year.
OMG SHARON PUSHED IN THE HOOK A DUCK IS REVIVING MY INTEREST IN THE SHOW!
Sonia needs to stop being so iconic. I'm glad she cut out the bin talk.
A return, possibly permanent, for Robbie Jackson: http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders/news/a826113/eastenders-dean-gaffney-to-reprise-role-as-robbie-jackson/
Can't say I'm thrilled by this. The character has admittedly become less annoying in guest stints but, from clips I've seen, he was awful in his original run.
Why tho? What possible reason for? So Bex can have another inept relative to look up to?
SONIA HAD TO MENTION HER f***ING TRUMPET
THE SHARON / SONIA SCENE IS MY FAVOURITE MOMENT IN AGES I ABSOLUTELY HOWLED
The way Sharon literally plummeted into the water is comedy gold
http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/Ganner88/media/IMG_0582_zpsigze7trv.jpg.html
We must be in some real f***ed up parallel dimension rn to think SONIA was responsible for such iconic-ness
Nah, they'll pull out all the stops next and bring back SHENICE.
SORAS Shanice and give her the Vic tbh

Best Actress:
Diane Parish
Lacey Turner
June Brown
Bes Actor:
Scott Maslen
Davood Ghadami
Danny Dyer (... really? again ffs)
Interesting choices! Not surprised to see Lacey Turner and Danny Dyer shoe-horned in there but great to see Diane Parish there (even if the character is too dominant a force in the show, the actress usually does a good job with her material) and particularly thrilled at June Brown being there! The Best Actor/Actress category usually goes for younger actors or people with strong, usually young, fanbases, so it's great to see June get some recognition.
Of course, John Middleton and Charlotte Bellamy from Emmerdale deserve to win these awards though.
Fab to see Diane get recognized again, it is so deserved! I agree it should be Charlotte Bellamy but I worry it will be Lacey again. She is ofc the best actress EE has but she hasn't done anything this year :/ None of these males even remotely deserve to win, Davood is ok but not worthy of best actor.
Danny will win, again. It is ridiculous because he is arguably the weakest actor of the main male characters. I hope Diane and Tameeka get nominated for best onscreen partnership! They really deserve it
ready for Robbie
I just knew that Khitcken ceiling was going to come down one day.
And can someone do something about that filter now
Lmao Lee Ryan's acting was like a stage school audition
NOT LADY DI
LMFAO AT SONIA VS SHARON!!!
Also this Denise and the Mariette-Doll Look-Alike relationship is boring.
Did anyone else's EE air today with Audio Deacription that you couldn't turn off??
Can't believe the roof collapse missed Lee Ryan.
Love Whitney giving Tina eyes for getting some flowers for her mum's f***ing funeral because it's an 'extra cost' when only weeks ago she was having a hissy fit over having to give up the flat she was never able to afford anyway. Too bad she wasn't this financially aware when she married Lee.
Whitney is such a twat, she was never my absolute fave but she's really gone downhill since she moved in with Lee and became a 1950s housewife who wasn't content with anything below the perfect life, and now she's a proper tightarse for no reason other she's wet for Mick
Just watched last nights episode. If I didn't HOWL enough at the Sonia/Sharon mess, Sonia then goes and referneces the fact she was bullied due to her trumpet which made me howl even louder
How was tonights ep? Was Lee Ryan as bad as Sarah Harding?
