@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
THE BIGGEST LEAPS TO No.1 IN THE UK ALBUM CHART 'Sergeant Pepper's jump to No.1 today, is the 2nd biggest leap to No.1 - ever - in the UK Album Chart. 01)... 30/06/16 Radiohead A Moon Shaped Pool No. 85 to No. 1 %%% 02)... 08/06/17 The Beatles Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band No. 84 to No. 1 %%% = A Moon Shaped Pool's 2nd 'Run' at No.1. It was originally at No.1 on W/E 19/05/2016 @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ARTISTS WITH THE BIGGEST CHART SPANS OF UK No.1 ALBUMS You start counting from the 1st Week at No.1 of their 1st No.1 Album, to the final No.1 Week of their last No.1 Album. Years//Months 01).. 60.00 Elvis Presley (W/E 10th November 1956 to W/E 3rd November 2016) 02).. 54.01 Beatles (W/E 11th May 1963 to W/E 8th June 2017) 03).. 52.07 Rolling Stones (W/E 2nd May 1964 to W/E 15th December 2016) 04).. 49.10 Bob Dylan (W/E 17th April 1965 to W/E 14th February 2015) 05).. 44.03 Paul Simon (W/E 18th March 1972 to W/E 16th June 2016) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ THE ARTISTS WITH THE MOST No.1 WEEKS IN THE UK CHARTS (S) = Singles + (A) = Albums 01)... THE BEATLES -- (S) 69 + (A) 175 = 244 Weeks 02)... ELVIS PRESLEY -- (S) 80 + (A) 66 = 146 Weeks 03)... ABBA -- (S) 31 + (A) 57 = 88 Weeks 04)... CLIFF RICHARD -- (S) 46 + (A) 30 = 76 Weeks 05)... ROLLING STONES -- (S) 18 + (A) 46 = 64 Weeks 06)... MADONNA -- (S) 29 + (A) 30 = 59 Weeks 07)... TAKE THAT -- (S) 29 + (A) 29 = 58 Weeks 08)... ELTON JOHN -- (S) 29 + (A) 23 = 52 Weeks 09)... MICHAEL JACKSON -- (S) 16 + (A) 31 = 47 Weeks 10)= ROD STEWART -- (S) 18 + (A) 28 = 46 Weeks 10)= ROBBIE WILLIAMS -- (S) 11 + (A) 35 = 46 Weeks @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ THE ARTISTS WITH THE MOST No.1 SINGLES & ALBUMS IN THE UK CHARTS (S) = Singles + (A) = Albums 01)... ELVIS PRESLEY -- (S) 21 + (A) 13 = 34 No.1's 02)... THE BEATLES -- (S) 17 + (A) 15 = 32 No.1's @@@ 03)... MADONNA -- (S) 13 + (A) 12 = 25 No.1's 04)= CLIFF RICHARD -- (S) 14 + (A) 7 = 21 No.1's 04)= WESTLIFE -- (S) 14 + (A) 7 = 21 No.1's 06)... ROLLING STONES -- (S) 8 + (A) 12 = 20 No.1's 07)= TAKE THAT -- (S) 12 + (A) 7 = 19 No.1's 07)= ROBBIE WILLIAMS -- (S) 7 + (A) 12 = 19 No.1's 09... ABBA -- (S) 9 + (A) 9 = 18 No.1's 10)= MICHAEL JACKSON -- (S) 7 + (A) 10 = 17 No.1's 10)= U2 -- (S) 7 + (A) 10 = 17 No.1's @@@ = If The OCC count the current Beatles No.1 Album, as their 16th UK No.1 Album, then they have 33 UK No.1 Singles + Albums. They will still have one less than Elvis Presley, however. NOTE -- The OCC have not counted it as The Beatles 16th No.1 Album. They say that they are still on 15 No.1 Albums. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ A)... Beatles Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band ITS 'GAP' BETWEEN LAST BEING AT No.1 & RETURNING TO No.1 W/E 3rd February 1968 to W/E 8th June 2017 = 49 Years & 4 Months ITS 'SPAN' BETWEEN FIRST BEING AT No.1 & RETURNING TO No.1 W/E 10th June 1967 to W/E 8th June 2017 = 50 Years It was last at No.1 in 1968. It was its 27th No.1 Week. If The OCC regard its current No.1 Position as being by the same Album, then it has its 28th Week at No.1 today. As well as being the longest 'Gap' between an Album last being at No.1 & it returning to No.1. It also has the longest 'Span' of an Album first reaching No.1 & next reaching No.1. In both cases 'Exile On Main Street' by the Rolling Stones has the 2nd longest 'Gap' & the 2nd longest 'Span'. B)... Rolling Stones This Rolling Stones Album only spent 1 Week at No.1 in both 1972 and 2010. Therefore its No.1 'Gap' & 'Span' cover the same amount of time..... Exile On Main Street W/E 10th June 1972 to W/E 29th May 2010 = 37 Years & 11 Months However - The OCC regard it as not being their 1972 Album returning to No.1. The 2010 No.1 had a 2nd Disk, of 10 'New' Songs, added, so The OCC decided that it was a brand new No.1 Album for the Group. Which is why The OCC counted the 'Blue & Lonesome' No.1, (December 2016), as the Rolling Stones 12th UK No.1 Album & not their 11th. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ This post has been edited by zeus555: 2nd June 2017, 07:01 PM |
