England's second game of the World Cup 2018 tournament is against Panama
The game is live on BBC. Please use this thread for speculation, pre and post match chat on the England game. Will this be similar to their match against Trinidad & Tobago in Germany 2006? |

Probably. We should get the win but it certainly won't be convincing, in terms of scoreline or performance. 1 or 2-0 perhaps.

I think with the pressure off somewhat we could see quite a comfortable victory here - something like 3-0.
I was quite pessimistic with my predictions for the Tunisia game so I'm going somewhat the opposite way here, although I could see us stalling again and only making a late 1-0 breakthrough. |

I watched on a youtube video that a commentator was like "could they start going all the way to win the World Cup?"
I think England will take it slow as usual. This post has been edited by Red Blooded Man: 20th June 2018, 12:06 PM |

I'm sure it would have been tongue in cheek

Probably goalless first half, plenty of fouls from Panama if they play like they did against Belgium and then two in the second half.
Alli looking likely to miss the game. |

I'm pretty confident this match will be a goal fest to England or a snoozefest.
Now which option shall I pick |

I am thinking more scoring in the last five minutes of the game.

Looks like Sterling is set to start.
I'm going to go for a dogged 2-0 victory. Panama to set up defending the Alamo, England to start well but the heat eventually will be a factor and slow the pace of the game down. |

Loftus-Cheek also set to start for England. Expect a few yellows from Panama.

We're good enough to beat them convincingly, but if we start to slip up here in the first half then I can see it being a tough game.

Worst case scenario, f*** it up in the dying seconds of the second half. On paper they should easily ram 5 goals or more unless they hit the flipping woodwork.
And I've got my England flag hanging outside |

Is it a requirement for the England team to have a really dull sounding voice?

Plenty of space there for Stones to score.

1-0 already, that'll settle them down. Can't wait to watch the big knockout games now after that Germany game last night, hope they're not too defensive!
