As I'm sure most of us already know, Forever is being released on vinyl on Friday 20th November!

This is our best chance to get the album back into the UK chart.

The pre-orders for Forever appear to be stronger than Greatest Hits and Spiceworld, which is a good sign - but us fans should try and do all we can to make it re-enter as high as possible - ideally Top 100!

We can do this in three ways - obviously buying the vinyl, but also downloading and streaming it! Every little helps.

It doesn't actually take many copies to go Top 100 in the UK download album chart - last week it was just 57 copies!

In today's official Top 100 album chart, just over 1300 copies were needed to reach #100. Over 850 copies were required to go Top 200. There was just 444 copies between #100 and #200, so if the download campaign catches on, those extra sales really could make all the difference.


Let's try our best I'll definitely be buying the album from iTunes on the 20th Nov, and streaming on Spotify.

It is November 20th for Europe, Jan next year for US/Canada/Japan. Think coronavirus is probably to blame for the push back in those countries, vinyl plants like everywhere struggling under coronavirus restrictions.

I was just wondering when it would be a good time to actually promote this campaign on social media?

A few days before or literally Nov 20th on wards.

Sometimes people don't read things properly online and some may download or stream the album, but we want people to do it between Nov 20-26th week.

I think you should push the pre-order link to the vinyl this week and mention there will be a campaign to coincide with the vinyl to help get Forever to chart in the UK again on yhe vinyl release week.

Then give more details the week before the vinyl

Chris who is well known throughout the fan base has done a tweet playing on Holler being under appreciated with a link to the Forever vinyl in an attempt to make it go viral. I'd asked one of the fans to do this on spice circle to see if we could get some traction with a tweet. Holler tends to get a lot of love on social media as an underrated gem so worth a try. Link to the tweet below if you could RT and like that would be awesome. Let's see if we can do something positive as a fan base!

Can we be absolutely sure that having a VPN on works towards streaming and downloading counting for the UK? My bank card is registered to the UK and the VPN being logged on to there should help it but I hope we have confirmation that it works?!

Guys we need to decide on a time for us all to download Forever on the 20th. If we all do it about the same time it will have the most impact. I think there are 2 options -

Just after midnight so it is high in the morning

Or like 8am so it is high during the day.

I think if we leave it any later in the day then people might think it isn't worth it if it isn't top 100 already by the evening.

Any thoughts?

I'm going to download on Amazon straight after midnight thursday night, Amazon won't be as important visibility wise as itunes. I think as a fan base we need to make sure Forever is minimum top 100 Friday morning.

Which members here intend to take part in this campaign?

I ordered the vinyl a while ago, and I’ll definitely be downloading on iTunes on Friday! I’ll download just after midnight.

If all of us download between 12:01am and 1:00am, it should help make the album appear high up the iTunes chart.

Last week, just over 50 downloads was enough to make the official charts Top 100 download chart!

Amazon Italy has a pic of the back cover of the vinyl and it looks great. It has the pic of them from the side on it and the website/social media accounts. A lot more effort has gone into this than the copy and paste jobs of the Spice and Spiceworld reissue vinyls.

Im so glad it's turned out nice. Well done girls. And to think that we all frawned at that horrible front cover, and it doesnt look too bad in big ah

I like the lyrics lay out! It's cute. And the back page is stunning. What a nice shot (one of the only nice ones from that shoot). And the one where they hug in twos is super cute and I always thought that should have been in the back of the CD.

Anyway, Im glad we have this! This time last year we were wondering if it would ever happen AND NOW LOOK AT US

Question related to streaming:

Last week, when Little Mix were trying to win a #1, they stated on Wednesday that midnight of that day is the cut off point for streams to count. Does that mean that the Thursday streams count for the following week?

If so, technically would the streams that happen today for Forever count towards the chart that otherwise starts on Friday?

Unfortunately not! Thursday streams are just lost in the ether. OCC estimates the Thursday streams based on the previous 6 days of streaming.

So we shall stream from Friday to Wednesday, and then sit back on Thursday

Really? That is such a strange rule. Why not just announce the chart on Saturday but have everything counting Friday - Thursday? That way you count everything on Friday before releasing it all on Saturday. Makes sense to me lol

Isnt that what happens in the USA? They release the charts on Tuesday isnt it?

That would make so much more sense! I'd honestly prefer it. It's always niggled me that the chart includes what is essentially 'fake data'. You're right about the US, they announce their chart a few days after the tracking week is over.

I'm repeating myself with every post but I'm so pleased I wasn't sure this morning whether it would be able to go Top 100, so it's fabulous to see it as high as the 80s!

Obviously that doesn't represent loads of sales, but this campaign was mainly intended to be an "every little helps" thing, to help the vinyl along in the chart.

I think Forever should safely make the download album chart top 100, it will certainly make the vinyl album chart and sales chart. Hopefully the overall album chart too.

Just noticed that the vinyl has climbed back into the Amazon Top 100 at #100, also #16 in their vinyl chart. It seems like the vast majority of the sales for this will end up having been achieved during the pre-order stage.

Also there are currently 30 compilations or duplicates (the vinyl or deluxe of an album that is also in the chart higher up so theu get combined for chart purpises) in the Amazon top 100 best sellers. So it's actually like 70ish on albums that count towards the chart.

It will definitely fall as today's midweeks would have included the pre-sales, and thus it will suffer a fall. So I wouldnt count on Top40, or even realistically Top75. The most I feel ok with hoping for is Top100

The album is now at #116 on iTunes

So it pretty much spent around 30 hours in the Top 100 and peaked at #45 hopefully with all the vinyls, Amazon downloads and streaming and the Top 40 midweek chart we can stay Top 100.

A shame they couldn't print a few thousand CDs just for supermarkets for casual sales and for buyers that wouldn't buy a vinyl.

Well it would need about 55 to 60 to chart on the album download chart at the end of the week so let's hope it is more than that.

Midweek #76

Lots of positives, streaming sales up 200% and already outsold Spiceworld vinyls whole release week in 3 days.

The negative, downloads have fallen off a cliff and costing it a fair few places in the chart.

So keep the streaming up as its doing great and anyone on the fence to download or download for another site it would really help.

Spiceworld was #91 on the Monday midweeks and that was March when sales were a fair bit lower.

It's doing well but its sales could tail off and downloads sadly already have.

If anyone is on the fence about ordering a vinyl, 2nd vinyl or downloading then do it asap. Also keep streaming as it is pretty impressive to have risen streaming sales by such a margin.

It's so frustrating, it probably "only" needs to sell about 150 more copies to scrape into the Top 200, which feels like such a small amount considering how large the Spice Girls fanbase is (there's over 1000 UK residing people in the Spice Circle Facebook group... even if only 50 of them committed to download it, it would really help). It seems that there's simply not enough fans willing to buy it on vinyl or download, or that care about the chart.

Oh well, I suppose it's nice that it's managed to sell more than Spiceworld did earlier this year, plus it should at least make the sales chart, the physical chart, the vinyl chart and possibly the download chart.

If the girls themselves barely do any promo for it other than a couple of tweets, most people won't even know about it... The last post the group's own accounts did was on Friday. Nothing ever since.

Plus, it still baffles me that they kept the original cover when it was so maligned in the first place, but changed the Greatest Hits one for that horrible cover even when that had so many complaining about it at the time lol...

Ah well, we have it and we have been streaming and enjoying Forever all over again. It gained somewhat a new life over the past couple of months, with more awareness of it and with fans and critics revisiting it.

I love the fact that we have Forever on vinyl. It's a great, great development in Spice World that most of us never believed it would happen. This is the great news. But if the girls themselves barely care about sales, then the fans (other than the rabid ones), wont care much either. Some of them wont even know that the vinyl is out at all...

I honestly don't know why they don't keep their social media promos throughout release week AT LEAST! Not even going to talk about promos that they could do outside social media, but that's another story all together.

So this! I am a huge Steps fan and I have seen all 5 individual accounts and the Steps account posting about the album and it's different formats on a daily basis... and it's not even out yet! While Forever gets one insta post from 2 members and the Spice Girls account during release week then that's it.... It's ironic seeing as the girls wrote all their own stuff while Steps don't write theirs yet the effort is just on a whole other level.

The Steps album is a new one, so ofcourse they will heavily promote it. Forever is a 20 year old album, why would they even promote it or post about it? It's just a vinyl release for the fans, I am sure the girls couldn't care less where it charts on the album chart or on iTunes.

I would have been more surprised if they had actually promoted it more tbh. There is zero need for them to do so.

This is tumbling down the midweeks now #146 today. Streaming is killing it (it will chart easily on the sales and physical charts). It needs any vinyl orders tonight and downloads. It could still chart but the fanbase will have to pull their fingers out and do that 3.99 or 4.99 download. Or if a foreign fan send 4 quid to a British friend to download it.

7 digital is so easy to download on as well as itunes and Amazon.

Be such a shame if it ends up at #210 and Forever's one chance to chart in 18 years is missed.

One thing I just noticed is that the vinyl doesnt come up in the Merch section of Spotify right under their Popular Tracks section like the other vinyls do.. A closer look also reveals that the vinyl is not on Merchbar at all, only the GH, GH Picture Disk and Spiceworld are...

ALSO I am HERE for them to get over themselves and start selling their own music on their own website, damn it! Another missed opportunity. I know they dont have a record deal right now, but surely they could strike a deal with the label that holds the rights to their music and put them there?

Honestly, the blame rests on the group and whichever team is behind their releases and promos. If they continuously make only middle of the road releases, with no extra incentives, no promo apart from ONE social media post on release day, then you get middle of the road results....

It's so wild to me that they never learnt this, or seem to have forgotten how promotion is what game them their millions back in the day in the first place! Some actual promo would be nice. Not even just talking about this vinyl, but every single release since before the original Forever era has been met with literally the minumum promotion possible from a group like them.

Beyond the promo, over the last 20 years the only thing they released that was NEW was the Greatest Hits. So the general public and the fanbase just isnt used to buying in builk like they were. Furthermore, they havent really adapted well to the streaming era. That is so evident and it shows. Their music streams on its own quite well - imagine if they kept promoting it and ensuring that their streaming numbers keep growing like most artists do?

Yes Forever got a new design apart from the cover - but who cares, really? It's still a maligned album, with a bad public perception, a horrible cover. A bit of care around it, with more incentives to buy would have been nice. I love the album but if it had been released on vinyl before and this new version of the vinyl was all we got, I wouldnt have bothered because there's nothing particularly new in it... Even as a huge fan of the Spice Girls, Im baffled by the lack of care they give their releases, and thus, I lose interest too...

Beyond 'the group and the record label' themselves being the ones to blame, individually they have been so bad at it too. Mel C and Emma did a post but apart from that, nothing. Couldnt Mel B get an intern to do the same? Vicky Bex couldn't manage a single like or post too? Couldnt the intern who runs their accounts do more? Schedule some posts, some stories, etc, constantly remind people that there are things to buy. Nada... we get throw backs every week, like that does much to anyone other than a few 'aaawww' comments...

So really, we can't really complain about mediocre results. You do a mediocre release, you get mediocre results...

ANYWAY, I know it might seem like I am angry but I am not, just dissapointed. I am mostly THRILLED to have this vinyl now, finally, after so long. Let's just hope they do much more to celebrate their 25th anniversary, shall we?!

That, I think, is where our focus should be after this week. Campaign directly with the group to ensure:

1. A proper re-release of their albums with NEW CONTENT
2. A new Greatest Hits type of release with NEW CONTENT AND DESIGN
3. That THE GROUP itself does some promotion for it too please (interview are a MUST, but also a few performances here and there would be great please. They ALWAYS get good reactions and public attention when they do interviews - they are hilarious!)
4. Announce the tour to celebrate in 2022.

I’ve downloaded my copy now, iTunes haven’t got one as I already downloaded the album on there years ago and paid a lot more money for it than it currently is. I’ve decided not to buy the vinyl yet as my husband wants to buy it for me for Christmas and actually the lack of promo or interest from the girls has led me to decide not to get a second copy especially since I am intending to start selling off a lot of my collection now. If it gets an extra week nice but I’m not all the bothered anymore tbh.

Whilst I absolutely agree with this that doesn't mean fans can't show interest and help by making what we have successful.

Louis Tomlinson fans randomly took it upon themselves a few weeks ago to all download his album and get it to number 1 on itunes. There was no reason bar to show support to him.

Mariah Carreys fans did the sane with Glitter too a couple of years ago.

The big problem is still their team and label are 2 different things and they work independently. This is a release by Universal (with the girls permission of course) but their team XIX are nothing to do with it. I doubt XIX and Simon even get anything from its release money wise. Obviously the girls will but it's not the kind of money they get from tour tickets.

Until they get over this paranoia about anything new flopping and damaging them you'll get releases like the Forever vinyl which is about all Universal can do.

I know one thing coming next year and I know you will all roll yours eyes and think why?

You hit the nail on the head there, it's kind of what I was trying to say too. That separation is important to understand as to why they dont do much themselves. As a group, them and Simon have always been focused on what can get them the most money and a Forever vinyl is never going to rake in the millions that other sponsorships, touring or deals can bring in.

It's part of the reason why so many get frustated: there is barely any focus on the band towards their music releases since pretty much Goodbye was released. And it shows.

The acts that you mention continued to mantain a relationshop with their fans in the streaming era. They literally focused on that, so they are reaping the benefits of it now... the Spice Girls and Simon/XIX could very well learn from that, to be honest.

I just dont want to blame the fans. It's been such a frustrating 20 years to be a fan of them... people loose interest, and who can blame them? At least they can still tour and sell well on that.



Yep, agree with this. It is so baffling to me how scared they are. They clearly have the power to do well, they just need to get their head in the game and try.

So frustrating. Like, their next tour (if it comes) needs to have new stuff in it, and I dont just mean a new design/set list/arrangements. It should absolutely include some new tracks in it too.

They would be silly to not do more music at some point. They literally have nothing to loose with that and you can tell that (some of them) are up for it. With the right A&R team behind them, they would absolutely smash it.

Simon is a dinosaur which is a problem. He literary did an interview before the tour last year saying he doesn't care about streams or video views. It is obvious he sees a deal with Walkers crisps as more important and it might be bigger instant cash but investing in the bands music continuing on through new mediums to be successful is an absolute must.

I agree with all of this. They could milk their catalogue, but they don't. Hopefully they will start doing so next year. If I was advising the girls I would have them release Feed Your Love at the beginning of October next year to build hype for the 25th anniversary edition of Spice, which would be released at the beginning of November. I would have a pre-order of the anniversary edition of Spice available the same day Feed Your Love is released to Spotify/iTunes. Fans can also pre-order limited edition individual vinyls of the Spice album.

Forever is up to #74 on itunes, we are doing one last big push to get downloads tonight. If you haven't downloaded you have till midnight to count for the chart.

You can do itunes, Amazon or 7 digital.

Whatever happens Forever will chart on at least 4 charts published by the OCC tomorrow, vinyl, sales, physical and download. Be great if it was top 200 main chart too.

Thank you all so much for the support, it really meant a lot that you guys (and others who haven't replied here) have embraced the campaign like you have.

And thank you to my partners in crime Sammy and Spice Girls Net for being so dedicated and organised all week, it's been a fun/interesting experience to say the least!

I'll be thrilled if it does make the Top 200 tomorrow, but should it fall short, I'm just happy that we gave it our best shot. Like Sammy says, at least Forever is guaranteed to appear in other charts this week.

I streamed Forever numerous times over the week, and even though I got a little tired of hearing it towards the end ( ) I do genuinely have a lot of love for the album, and I'm happy it's had its moment in the sun. I'm still really pleased that we got this underrated album on vinyl!



P.S. It is now #44 on iTunes, just about managing to beat its original high of #45 last Friday! It would have been #40, but four newly released albums (Steps, Now 107, Miley Cyrus and Gary Barlow) have now appeared above it

#6 Spiceworld but sold less copies than Forever.

We are in the run up to xmas and vinyl sales are obviously very strong.

I'm happy with the result, Forever on 4 charts, first time on the download chart and the 73rd most purchased album this week.

Sadly it didn't make the Top 200

The #200 album sales ended up being 940... Forever sold 820. That was with 696 physicals, 87 downloads and 37 streaming sales. So I'm afraid to say that it was probably quite far off Top 200 in the end (we'll never know what the chart position is).

It's frustrating, because the earlier midweeks really didn't suggest that #200 was destined to achieve well over 900. I would have likely admitted defeat earlier in the week if it had been more apparent that we were fighting a losing battle. There's been many weeks this year where the #200 sold 800-ish copies, sometimes it's even less than that. It really seemed like we had a good chance of scraping the Top 200.

Two problems...

1) The vinyl needed more general interest. It literally only needed another 121 sales and it would have got Top 200! I guess the combination of it being 'Forever' (an underappreciated album) on a vinyl (an expensive format) inevitably made it a niche product.

2) Streaming. It's crazy how many streaming sales some albums generate... there's old albums that are managing hundreds, or even thousands of streaming sales a week. A 5 year old One Direction album had almost 1000 streaming sales and ended up placing at #154, despite not selling many pure copies (less than 100). That's hard to compete with, and sadly we can see Spice Girls' streaming is nowhere near that level, and their pure sales couldn't keep up with the popular streaming albums.

I'm trying not to be too disappointed. Forever making it into those 4 other charts is still a very nice achievement for an album as undeservedly maligned as Forever is!

It was great to see many people get into the spirit of the campaign and showed their support with purchasing and streaming. We really tried! I suppose if we learn something from this, it's that the album chart (particularly the lower positions) is really designed for albums that do well on streaming.

783 pure sales for Forever this week is more than some of those popular streaming albums will actually manage to *sell* in a whole year, so that's a silver lining.

One final note - although I don't know a new total for Forever, it's most definitely passed 273,000 as of this week.

I dont know why but I'm totally happy with 820 copies and the 4 charts it charted on. I'm sure it's revenue was so much higher than those albums with big streaming sales and Forever got a week in the limelight.

The fan base came together enough to make #66 on downloads and Forever is now out there on vinyl. Top 200 would have been amazing but it's not like it tanked or flopped it just didn't have tracks on playlists and get casual streams like people were listening to the radio.

For an album that sells 19 copies normal each week I'm happy.

Charting top 200 was the icing on hhe cake the process of the campaign and Forever getting lots of social media attention, downloads and increased streams was really the main point. Only us crazies care if it was #198 or #258

It's always hard (for someone who saw them in their prime) to see something a handful fans went the extra mile for struggle to make the top two HUNDRED or fail to sell 900 copies but we tried, I guess. Times are what they are.

It's all just circumstance though, the GH picture disc did 2.5k vinyls release week in the UK but it was announced while they were 'active' touring.

It all has to be put into perspective, Forever does about 1k sales a year it did 820 in 7 days and will no doubt do a few more this week too.

Absolutely, and also the original GH picture disk was announced as limited edition, which always makes it seem more like a priority to get + there was quite a bit of buzz around it because also they promoted it quite a lot via the group accounts and their individual ones.

Forever is at least in physical print now on vinyl so when/if they get their act together the next couple of years it can hopefully get some extra sales.

I'm pretty sure we got these vinyls because of the success of the GH picture disc. Since that was released in July 2019 we have had -

Spice white vinyl
Spiceworld black vinyl
GH black vinyl
Forever black vinyl

In a 16 month time span.

Exactly this it was hard enough watching them falter in the 2000's onwards as solo acts but they were still achieving top 10s even half their success back then would be such a triumph today, that's why it was so wonderful to see Melanie get to #8 (and so frustrating Emma just missed out on #10) and why it was so exciting the prospect of Mel being featured on another #1 in a 4th decade.... Charts are not the be all and end all but it's sad to see how far they have fallen.

Look on the bright side they are at least doing much better than any other UK girl band as solo acts overall at lease.

For sure. But lets not forget this is a particular kind of release. If they had done proper promo for it OR if this was new music, the level of interest would have been much higher.

You cant compare that to the solo material releases: people will always gravitate more towards them as a group than as solo artists. Always. They just need to get their shit together on that and PROMOTE which they never do...

I've noticed that none of Mariah Carey's vinyl reissues have boosted her albums to re-enter the Top 200 (although The Emancipation of Mimi was showing in the midweeks, last week - lower down than Forever). Janet Jackson didn't see any of her albums re-enter either. So I suppose it shows that some vinyl reissues are really only going to be well received by a small but dedicated portion of a fan base.

I do wish more of my female faves would do better though. Sorry to bring gender into it, but recent reissue vinyl from Oasis, Coldplay and Paolo Nutini have done really well by comparison. Now I know you really cannot compare Forever to What's the Story Morning Glory ( ), but Paolo's Sunny Side Up colour vinyl has sold 1,300+ in a day, and that was already available on black vinyl... Coldplay's Parachutes is of course a classic too, but it was available for years in black vinyl and still managed to sell almost 3.5k vinyl simply because it's pressed on yellow vinyl?? 'Spice' vinyl on white didn't even help it re-enter the Top 200 midweeks

That *IS* interesting about Janet and Mariah actually and it makes me feel better about Forever's sales as at least Mariah's had A LOT of buzz arund them. I guess it makes me also more comfortable that we might see some new editions in the future since Forever even came out in the first place after Spiceworld and GH didnt do much numbers either (that we know of) and thus, it might very well be that the record company might put out a couple of releases every now and then regardless if it gets to the charts or not. My hunch is that they are ok with the numbers their vinyls are doing, even if they get to those numbers with time instead of in week 1...

Would be good to know numbers of sales of the vinyl editions of Spice, Spiceworld, GH and Forever. Some totals on those formats would be amazing to know...

Coldplay and Oasis are different beasts, that carried on releasing music and different editions of albums for ages, touring constantly, etc. Coldplay are technically still an active music-releasing band who just got nominated for another Grammy. which means their fanbase is used to BUY and STREAM. Spice Girls just abandoned everything from November 2000 and since then only reunited twice and in both times barely did much for their own music outside of the touring...

I'm sure the vinyls are much more than successful than we realise. Italy Amazon pushed Forever's vinyl back to Jan on the release week last week so a load of Italians on Spice circle ordered it from Amazon UK. Those sales are essentially lost as they won't count towards the UK chart as they ship to Italian addresses but won't count to the Italian charts as Amazon UK won't report sales to the Italian chart compiler.

Who knows how many sales slip through the net with things like that. It certainly seemed a lot of foreign fans ordered through UK Amazon with the date being pushed back else where. Which is probably why Forever looked to be doing so well on pre-orders on UK Amazon too.

Completely agree Mr.X, Spice Girls' lack of activity, and popping up every now and then, in a way is actually kind of damaging for the legacy they're apparently so eager to protect. They let themselves go a bit out of sight, out of mind. I feel like the music of The Beatles, Queen, ABBA etc somehow have more of an omnipresence. To be fair their catalogues are vast in comparison to Spice Girls, so that's another way they let themselves down.

I completely disagree I mean only fans on sites like Spice Circle or here on Buzzjack etc would ever be aware that the vinyl was released in the UK this week as apposed to it being in January as seen on their own site. Those on the fan sites are the more hardcore fans and more likely to try support them on a chart rather than let sales go to waste.

I believe only 2 people offered shipping services, and out of 696 physicals achieved in the UK, it would have only been a small percentage of that. It was probably no more than 20 sales achieved that way.

The fan base is spread far and wide around the world, there'll definitely be a fair few "lost sales" in the ether, with them ordering directly from Amazon UK. Many of them won't have been aware of a fan shipping service.

Why would they be aware that Amazon UK were selling it now and not at the same date as their own countries Amazon page? I get it with the official stores because fans all over the world would be checking those but how often as a huge fan of the girls do you check Amazon Italy or Amazon Germany etc for releases? I can honestly say I've ordered one thing on Amazon Germany once and that was First day of my life. That's as a huge fan following Melanie's career in other countries and actively going on there to buy it knowing it's on there otherwise I've never done for anything else.

We will have to agree to disagree my dear but I don't buy into it.

It would at least explain more easily how it managed to get to #1 on Amazon UK! Most products that get to #1 on Amazon (which is no mean feat) don't end up missing the chart. There's definitely international customers using different Amazon countries.

The Spice Circle shipping service requires trust/commitment, and is ultimately more of a faff than them just ordering it themselves without a care for whether it helps the UK chart or not. I know the shipping service attracted a few sales, but it wasn't a huge number.

By the way, Forever was available to pre-order on Fnac for a whole year, and there were probably some fans who wouldn't have been able to resist waiting when that pre-order first went up. So there were certainly opportunities for 'lost sales' to occur.

Kevsie and Chris shipping service was for 25 vinyls (19 and 6).

Amazon most certainly had loads of international fans ordering from it.

I actually asked Chris about it when Amazon Italy changed the date and loads of Italian fans contacted him but he couldn't compete with Amazon UK shipping prices. 1 Italian fan chose him.

See this is why the record label are happy to keep releasing the vinyls, the sales for the charts are not it's actual total sales. It could easily have done a couple of hundred sales on Amazon UK to other parts of the world. Not to mention it's sales from sound of vinyl, record store and so on to other parts of the world.

Sort of I guess. They'll know how many copies they've shipped out and that counts as "sales" for them. If stores start selling out they might have enough demand to do another printing etc.

Well, yes and no. Obviously, something can ship well, but if it the stores can't sell the stock it means that they won't buy a large amount of the next release. So for them to go for a Forever release after Spiceworld did disappointingly on the charts in comparison to Spice and the Greatest Hits vinyl, it must've at least sold out, or been close to selling out, for them to assume they could sell stock of Forever to stores.
