Sky looking them to go bust by pretending to bid.

Sure JCs government will nationalise BT anyway when he gets into power.

The BBC will not show any live golf next year for the first time since 1955 after the broadcaster lost the rights to live coverage of the Masters. Sky Sports will be the sole broadcasters of the tournament from Augusta.

The BBC lost the rights to the Open in 2016, ending a 60-year run with Britain’s flagship tournament, while their live Masters coverage was pared back to two days in 2011. From next year terrestrial viewers will be able to watch only highlights.

The Paralympic Games will remain on free-to-air television after the government added it to the 'crown jewels' list of protected events.

Both the summer and winter Games will be added in the first change to the list - which includes the Olympics and football World Cup - in 20 years.

Good news. Let’s hope they add the women’s World Cup as well.

The government has rejected the chance to ensure the Six Nations remains only on free-to-air TV by turning down a call to include the tournament as a category A-listed sporting event.

BBC and ITV currently share coverage under a deal that runs until 2021 and have made another joint bid for coverage from 2022.

However, the Six Nations will remain a category B tournament, meaning live coverage can go behind a paywall provided highlights or a delayed broadcast are shown on terrestrial TV.

Live football is back on telly! The BBC are streaming reigning champions Jeonbuk Motors v Suwon Bluewings in the South Korean league at 11:00 this morning on the website and, presumably, the BBC Sport app.

And that figure went up to 24,000 when Lee Dong-gook scored the winning goal for Jeonbuk in the 84th minute.

The BBC has agreed an extended deal with the Rugby Football League to broadcast the Challenge Cup until 2024.

The new agreement will see the BBC broadcast the Wheelchair Challenge Cup final for the first time on its digital platforms as well as continuing to show the Women's Challenge Cup final.

The BBC will show the men's final, both semi-finals plus two matches from the quarter-finals and last 16 from 2022.
