 As always, in the next few weeks leading up to Eurovision week itself, the various OGAE fan clubs will reveal their favourite 10 songs from this year's contest and awards points using Eurovision's classic 12 to 1 points system. All of the votes will get announced via the official OGAE International spreadsheet website and via ESCtoday. What I will say before this all starts up again is that not only does this voting tend to get really top heavy with usually a good amount of songs that get little or no points at all but also that the OGAE (with some exceptions) tend to be the older, more devoted, pre-internet originating parts of the Eurovision fandom (I used to joke that it ought to stand for Old Gay Appreciators of Eurovision which tells you all you need to know) so the results tend to skew towards the types of things that they like. So the stuff that the younger fans tend to like more than them tends to not get as much appreciation in this - which is why I'm ruling out Belgium putting up much of a fight here.
It should give a hint/clue to the final results but don't kid yourself into thinking it's anything more than that. |

That 2011 top five was pretty in line with the odds, so hilariously out then. I sometimes wonder if how well a song is expected to do increases how much some of these voters like something. I mean if Sognu had odds of 30/1 and was expcted to be mid-table at best from the outset, would it have really been 2nd here? Same applies to DJ Bobo.
Then again, there are some surprises in the past results here, but as is mentioned above, the 'classic' sounding Eurovision songs (read schlager and/or performers of a more mature vintage) tend to do quite well too. |

Nobody actually liked 'Sognu', everyone just wanted to look like they were in the group of people "smart" enough to appreciate it due to its status as the favourite. I think if there's one impactful trend in OGAE voting it's the voters wanting to look like they "get it". 'Occidentali's Karma' is gonna walk it this year. |

This isn't on the official OGAE International website yet but their website seems a bit of a state at the moment. It has been revealed via the official OGAE France social media however so it is fully reliable:
