Seventh single from Taylor Swift's fifth album 1989 called "New Romantics", which goes for US CHR/Pop adds on February 23 according to AllAccess. (http://www.allaccess.com/top40-mainstream/future-releases)

Oh thank gosh this is a single *.* Perfect 7 released then!

Really hope this can smash due to being a bonus track, absolute stomper of a pop banger wub.gif wub.gif

sad.gif +100000000

But this is a great choice of next single. Would be quite awkward if it slayed where OOTW failed to do so :|

I'm confused as to why she is pushing out a 7th single when Out Of The Woods didn't exactly do well

Posted by: J▲hq 19th February 2016, 08:58 PM

Stop your moaning people when this is a clear 11/10 BANGER

It's only on the deluxe though so there is at least a market there for any fans who just bought the standard album...

I demand another video with her "squad" and for Lorde to be in it this time

IT'S HAPPENING IT'S HAPPENING OMG THIS IS NOT A DRILL

My personal headcanon is that the videos for "Bad Blood" and "Magnets" take place in the same world, so while Lorde wasn't in the giant fight, she was sent on a secret mission to kill another one of Taylor's main haters by posing as a hot secretary. How else could she have set a pool on fire?

Posted by: JosephStyles 19th February 2016, 09:19 PM

This is very good but if she had to pick a deluxe track, Wonderland would've been far preferable IMO. Not that either will do anything at this stage of the campaign.

Posted by: Jack 19th February 2016, 09:30 PM

I'm confused as to why she is still going on with this campaign. I agree with Joseph, 'Wonderland' would have been the preferable choice for me.

Posted by: Joe. 19th February 2016, 09:54 PM

It's amazing. But move on babes, the singles aren't charting anymore.

YES I SUPPORT THIS

Posted by: Juan Carlos 19th February 2016, 10:08 PM

The only reason I could think of that Taylor and/or her team are releasing more singles from the album is because there's not going to be a new album from her this year. I guess this was expected, despite it will break her streak on releasing an album every two years, if this is finally confirmed.

Anyway, I'm not expecting this is going to do a lot, but why not trying? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Posted by: mr_pmt 20th February 2016, 02:43 AM

Wonderland? Seriously? laugh.gif

Well, if there was a 7th choice then this is perfect but at this stage it's just flogging a dead horse.

How I wish 'Out Of The Woods' was given a chance at a point in the campaign where the singles stood a slight chance of even performing...

Posted by: JosephStyles 20th February 2016, 12:27 PM

Wonderland is the second best song on the album for me, so yes, seriously tongue.gif

oh please no the stuff of nightmares

Posted by: Jade 20th February 2016, 04:33 PM

Ooh interesting. I did think she'd wrap up the campaign after 'Out Of The Woods' not being the smash we all envisioned, after leaving it so late into the era.

I think I would've preferred 'All You Had To Do Was Stay' but at least this has the bonus track thing going for it in terms of sales.

Hoping she brings it with the video~

In my opinion, it was this or go home.

Posted by: -SCOTT- 20th February 2016, 06:59 PM

I fail to see how she's ever going to go top 20 with anything in the future due to the lack of streaming.
Not saying she will flop as obviously her airplay, album sales and tour sales will be huge but her days of smash hit singles are a thing of the past.

Posted by: Envoirment 20th February 2016, 07:48 PM

Nice to see another single being pushed, don't see why not when the album is still selling. It'll have more room to grow in sales at least with it being a deluxe track. Should push the album closer to the 6 million mark in the US. smile.gif

Posted by: (Zach) 20th February 2016, 10:56 PM

I think seven singles is ridiculous regardless of the situation!

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 21st February 2016, 12:27 AM

Unless it goes on Spotify / Tidal (kink.gif) it will bomb.

Posted by: JSG 21st February 2016, 09:28 PM

This is one of the songs I never really got but listening to it now it really is a brill song.

One thing though... Talk about milking an album!!

If Out of the Woods couldn't do much, this has absolutely no chance.

The album is still selling well so makes sense I guess. As long as get a new music video I'm happy smile.gif

Posted by: Virginia's Walls 23rd February 2016, 09:10 AM

Huh what happened to Out of the Woods with that boring video?

This song is cheesy and awful. There is no single material left now.

I can't watch it as I don't have Apple music kink.gif Has there been a version put up on YT or anything?

Posted by: Ryan. 6th April 2016, 06:15 PM

Not yet unfortunately but apparently it is only a tour video so nothing to get too excited about!

Posted by: princess_lotti 6th April 2016, 06:16 PM

sad.gif How disappointing!

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 6th April 2016, 06:33 PM

I HAVE APPLE MUSIC STILL THANK GOSH!

Will watch it now!

The video is 4:23!

Posted by: Liаm 6th April 2016, 06:34 PM

I've watched it, yeah it's just a tour video, to celebrate the era and the success it's been I guess more than anything, as it's gonna be the last single I'd assume. Bit disappointing but nice anyway to reflect on the huge success she's been for the last 2 years <3

The extra 20 seconds or so are just a spoken thing, like the sort of thing that would start a tour film really.

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 6th April 2016, 06:37 PM

Nice enough video and pretty nice video but yeah, I was really hoping for another original excellent video for this era sad.gif

Really hope she performs this once in the UK, on something like Britain's Got Talent or something! Easily in my top 4 from 1989 wub.gif wub.gif

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 6th April 2016, 06:39 PM

This could be a top 5 hit for her... i don't know what she's playing at.

Posted by: Ryan. 13th April 2016, 04:55 PM

I'm not bothered this isn't a proper video, it just feels like the perfect ending to one of the biggest pop campaigns of the century!

Posted by: Jimmy Jam 13th April 2016, 05:12 PM

Have to agree. It really is the perfect ending (video, song, everything) to such a flawlessly executed campaign. Again, have to agree, on of the best executed for a long time. I just hope when she's back with new stuff in a few years it can live up to the sensationally high bar she'd set herself with 1989 (One of the best albums of the past 2 decades imo)

Posted by: mr_pmt 13th April 2016, 06:37 PM

I think it's so well done and quite an exciting watch for a tour video. Also lyrically (in the chorus) it's fitting for the media criticism she continually gets but how being on stage every night and doing it all for the fans has been worth it. It seems like quite a fitting end to the campaign after all!

Are radio here not bothering with this or.. unsure.gif

Seems not! sad.gif A 7th single was probably a step too far in terms of support (seemingly a 6th single was as well~).

For anyone who is interested, these are her UK peaks and weeks within the Top 200, for her 1989 era songs:

Singles
#2 - Shake It Off (67 weeks)
#4 - Blank Space (55 weeks)
#21 - Style (34 weeks)
#4 - Bad Blood (25 weeks)
#40 - Wildest Dreams (19 weeks)
#136 - Out Of The Woods (1 week) *
#132 - New Romantics (1 week)

* Out Of The Woods actually charted in the same week as Blank Space & Style. When it became a single, it failed to re-enter the Top 200.

Album Tracks
#39 - Welcome To New York (2 weeks)
#171 - Wonderland (1 week)

'1989' fell out of the UK Top 40 this week, after 79 consecutive weeks within the Top 40. To date it has sold approximately 1,040,000 copies! happy.gif

I admire her for releasing seven singles, yeah the last two weren't commercial successes but it'll be nice to look back and see that half the album got videos and a single release
