Why do today, what you can do tomorrow? Joined: 7 November 2008 Posts: 10,467 User: 7,645	Great to see Coldplay go straight to A List and Roberto Surace climb up to A this week. I'm shocked 'Dance Monkey' has stalled on the B List even though it's been at Number 1 for a good few weeks now and is still increasing on sales. What exactly is the problem with it?

Instant add for the new 1975 and Coldplay is always good to see. My fav artists on the playlist are Celeste, Fontaines DC, Sea Girls & Michael Kiwanuka. Radio 1 should really get behind the latter he should be lauded by the British industry - his last album was brilliant and everything on this sounds even better.

That really tells the tale of of how safe commercial pop music has become, and how radio stations have helped to let it get that way. Seems like a long long time since I've heard a commercial pop/chart hit that shocked me with how different it sounds. Dance Monkey does at least partly fill this quota thanks to Tones' marmite vocal but it's not exactly a 'wow, this is so different' moment on the level of Uptown Funk, Somebody That I Used To Know, Royals or Crazy by Gnarls Barkley.

If Radio 1 had a problem with it, it wouldn't be on the playlist at all. It still gets played two or three times a day!

There are some B List tracks that get as many as 20 spins and some A Listers get as low as this (and as high as 30 plays). Usually around impact dates etc!
