Did any or Robbies albums never go diamond??? (10,000,000) Nope. But if he was big in the USA then his last 3 or 4 would've easily all sold over 10 million I just read on Haven that he is the 32nd best selling singles artist in the UK history with nearly 5.5 million sold. Since Robbie has'nt been a big single seller since the 'Sing When Your Winnning' era, I think it is fantastic. Westlife with all their 14#1's and the rest top 5's still have'nt sold as much as Rob He has also sold over 18.5 million albums in the UK. So over 24 million records sold in the UK alone in 10 years. Simply amazing |

Thats because he is the greatest!! But...
Someone told me that you have to sell ten mill in your own country or district to go diamond, because they said, kelly clarkson sold ten mill on her first album, but because they werent strictly US sales, she didnt get the diamond certificate? I think thats stupid, if you sell ten mill you sell ten mill! This post has been edited by Supreme: 20th December 2006, 10:24 PM |

Updated with sales from various other countries. Not sure if alot of them are right though as they were posted up on Ukmix early 2005. So alot of them will be higher. Canada and US sales are right though. I'd imagine he's sold about 1.2 million albums in the US and Canada.

I think thats stupid, if you sell ten mill you sell ten mill! only in US albums get a diamond award with shipments of 10.000.000 albums of 1 release there. If an album sells 10 mill copies globally why should it get a US diamond certification when it hasn't sold 10m there??? Kelly Clarksons Album sold 5.6 mill copies in the US, it has not even been certified for 6.000.000 copies shipped to stores.. so why should it get diamond? BTW so many people say Robbie is nothing in america but His US compilation the ego has landed sold 600.000 copies there (thats basically the same glitter by mariah or american life by madonna sold there).. so if he hadn't give in at that time he could have been the biggest european artist there by now. With 45 million albums in 10 years RW is the biggest selling solo european artist of the century. |

If he had've stuck at it back in 1999 I think he would be huge Over a million sold in US/Canada is'nt bad though at all. If you round his album sales off to the nearest million, then he has sold almost 50 million. When he signed his record breaking £80 million deal with EMI in 2002 they said he had sold 22 million albums, this was a month or two before Escapology, so I'd imagine sales of his first 5 albums looked like this rounded off to the nearest million. Life Thru A Lens: 4 million Ive Been Expecting You: 5 million The Ego Has Landed: 1 million Sing When You're Winning: 6 million Swing When You''re Winning: 6 million Total: 22 million like EMI said. Then before his Greatest Hits was released it was announced he had sold 32 million, so Escapology's and Live at Knebworth Sales would look something like this. Although the 6.5 million for Escapology was late 2003 so I think it may be near 7m now. Escapology: 6.5 million Live at Knebworth: 3.5 million Then before IC was released it was announced he had sold over 38 million. the Greatest Hits had sold 6 million, and went on to sell a further 1.1m as of last March. So 7.1 million at least. Greatest Hits: 7.1 million Intensive Care: 7 million (by now definatly as it was on 6.7 million 4 months back.) Rudebox has sold (shipped) about 2.5 million. So if you round all off to the nearest million then he is on almost 50 million Simply amazing for 10 years and only just a million in the US |
