BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Sam Bailey - Sing My Heart Out

A nice surprise from Sam, I actually really like this and it's a fairly strong single! It's quite Sia and doesn't even really sound like Sam. It's a shame this won't do much as it's independent I believe sad.gif

If she'd released this as her big first single she'd have made a bigger dent in the charts, shame sad.gif

I'm really surprised she's releasing independently, I had no idea she was passionate enough about music to release it after losing major label support. It's nice to see, so hopefully she'll manage decent sales.

I'm surprised that no other bigger label were not interested in her rather than the unknown label she has gone with. The song is really good - She could do a Rick Astley on us and get a decent chart position/sales with the new album.

I would welcome further success for Sam as i like her, this is too good of a song to flop which unfortunately it will. I would be thrilled if she can achieve some success with the album.

I have been watching some of her performances (I think from last year) didn't realise how good she was. Her performances with Jaymi Hensley (of Union J) and Callabro are awesome. She performed Run to You (Whitney song) with Jaymi which was just amazing.

She has self-financed the album.

Fair play to her - She has had great promo this week and R2 plays so I'm surprised the track didn't manage to hang on in the iTunes T150 for a while longer, hope the album is a success.

It would be nice to see this get some success, she deserves it!

This is a very good song from her smile.gif

SAMs new album is actually quite good. I like it more than I expected. Hope it does well for her.
'Its Gets Better Every Day' is becoming a guilty pleasure of mine!

I enjoyed the album, though it's pretty dated production-wise in places.

Take It Out On The Dancefloor is quite a jam though and I do like the title track/lead single a lot.

The album is starting off on shaky ground, number 26 in yesterdays mid-week chart information and number 29 today. The album deserves so much more and now i fear it wont stay in the top 40 by the end of the week. cry.gif

Posted by: mr_pmt Sep 20 2016, 06:47 PM

I was thinking this would be top 15 or so.

Posted by: pippa Sep 21 2016, 02:05 PM

I also believed the same upon the initial release and as a result i am left even more disappointed with her position.

Posted by: pippa Sep 23 2016, 05:51 PM

The album charts at 33, not a major decline from its initial mid week position. I so believe the album deserves more but at the least Sam has a 2nd top 40 album to her name.

Shocking that she only managed to sell 2,000 copies. Pronably would have missed the Top 40 if it wasn't for her album signings - a few weeks ago I was expecting this to go Top 10 based on the fact you need less than 5k to do so and she's an artist that would appeal to album buyers.

Posted by: pippa Sep 23 2016, 06:25 PM

I can only agree, the signing saved her, that said it will most likely mean she could fall straight out of the chart this coming week. cry.gif

Yes 2,000 sales is so small. But realistically how many people even knew this album was released? I'm sure she has next to no AirPlay and minimal promotion.
I like the album and hope it can continue to sell. Sam is on tour next spring so that may help.

Promotion hasn't been terrible, I guess I thought that her fantasy was bigger than 2,000. Anyway pleased that she has managed to go Top 40 - I hope this doesn't put her off future releases.

Posted by: mr_pmt Sep 23 2016, 07:49 PM

I did think she'd be able to command a bit more than that.

An X factor or Strictly performance would be a big help but its likely not top happen pirate.gif

Posted by: Tombo Sep 26 2016, 02:37 AM

It Gets Better Everyday is really good, this album has got some really good tracks smile.gif I'd like to see her have some success with it.

For Sam to get more success she needs promotion slots that will get the word out and sadly she isnt a big enough name to get that i sadly think.
