Looking forward to this later *.* the predictions for Shpongle have been all over the place, so as per usual I have no idea what to expect for myself

Hopefully we should be in for a good winner as I really like most of the contenders.

Here's what you need to know:

θ In contrast with recent contests, we will reveal the votes of the DNQing nations first, in order of when they voted.
θ We will then begin to reveal the votes of the finalists, in reverse order of current position - so the country currently in last will have their votes revealed first, and so on until we finish with the person currently in first. If there's a blindingly obvious landslide winner we might speed the last bit up a bit.
θ Once your votes have been revealed your entry will be full of colour so we can keep track of who's votes are yet to be shown.

I shall begin exercising my body, mind & soul at the gym exactly at 7 (that is my choice, sozzz ) but looking forward to catching up later all sweaty and tired yet strangely refreshed Well, scratch sweaty maybe, they do have showers at the gym which I do use like. Then again, the half hr walk back in the heat will probs make me sweaty again anyway BUT I digress, gosh.

Congrats to South Danaelanda who obliterate their previous personal best of 11 from the Jadakissnian people (for both 'JAMMU' and 'The City Don't Care') by receiving our top marks on this occasion. This song was so instant for me and I wouldn't be surprised if this was also the case with many others, easy semi winner perhaps? This just reminds me of the best of Matrix & Futurebound, not sounding a million miles away from 'Control' sonically. I am a sucker for that kind of production mixed with emotional vocals. What a stormer of a package! We hope this one can go all the way tonight. Receiving 15 points was an almighty grower courtesy of our fellow #longsongbloc allies Rolloland. We initially gave 'The Storm Before The Calm' 4 points in the semi-final but it has wormed its way into the affections of the Jadakissnian citizens more and more each time and now it's an ultimate favourite. The first half is such an exciting adrenaline rush and then it all calms down and boasts a fantastic final couple of minutes - the song peaking at the end is ultra satisfying. The duration is no problem for me as I love the build. Well done Rolloland for appearing in our medal positions for the second time to date, after the 18 for 'Routine' last year! Then finally, Utopia knock it out of the park during the first available opportunity for us to vote for them! The last time they qualified was BJSC 73 which was a whole contest before we joined this kind of loopy dance is an absolute delight, please do stick around and send more gems if this what you've had up your sleeve <3

Thanks everyone that voted for DJ Koze, especially the four 18s. Really pleased with my overall position, more than a bit obsessed with it at the moment.

Really struggled to find time to give enough listens to everything last week as it coincided with me being really busy, but certainly a few good songs in there.

Ooft that was closer than I thought, but yesss well done Frank! One of those rare entries that actually feels relevant to the world right now as well as just being a great song so certainly an apt winner, and I think that's the highest I've given a winning entry this year! *. Fantastic to see yet another new country winning as well, 2018 seems to be good for these!

Yesss at Persephonia just about getting in the top 10 right at the end as well, I hope Rolloland kept their top 20 place!

Lmao I can't believe how much I jinxed myself after the Persephonia votes got a points drought immediately and fell from 7th to 16th with no more points at all, mess! I would have been elated with that at the start but it's a bit deflating to think you have a surprise top 10 on your hands for most of the reveal, then it gets snatched away when it matters most! Boo. Well, top 20 is nothing to be sniffed at anyway and 16th is a unique position at least, plus an improvement on last month! 4 top 20 hits is a pretty damn solid result for me this year so far so I have nothing to complain about really, was just a hugely unexpected rollercoaster aside from that rambling, yassss my 18 has done very well this time *.*

Thank you for this Pete, honestly one of the best hosting jobs I can remember since I joined! It was so you.

YAAAAAAAAAAS, absolutely the correct winner Such a special song, chills from the first few seconds pretty much, and totally fitting to the state of the world right now. One of the best top 2s ever surely, both amazing in different ways.

Also yaass at 9th for Aja, I had no idea what to expect for Brujeria, but I didn't expect much higher than like 17th or so so top 10 is fab and a unique position *.*

The tiebreaks in the final are done by number of votes first Pete!

South Danaelanda beats FSR Rontvia (35 votes to 32), Desbuanda beats Rolloland (18 votes to 16), République d'Ashton beats Bøtanikkä (both 19 votes, Ashton with 2 18s to Bøtanikkä's 1), East Rukahavian beats Ojnoj (20 votes to 19), Yehesi beats Dobago (21 votes to 15), Cumulonimbia beats Palmyra (18 votes to 17). All the points totals match what I got adding them up though so all good. xx

The Wandering Hearts doing that well out of seemingly nowhere is a nice surprise, shame it just missed out on the top 3 - still, must be the most successful country entry since Dixie Chicks Fabulous to see Dimension and Andromedik both doing pretty well (and very close together, seems I was not alone in finding it hard to decide which is better) and Millie Turner and Aja also making the top 10, and I was very relieved to end up in the top 10 after not being there at all until the penultimate vote! 10th is lower than I was hoping for for this entry but I can never complain much at a top 10 eh, I guess this is 'IDL' all over again (a cautionary tale against overdoing the self-hype). Thanks everyone who voted for ATCR anyway including a few who we've not had points from in quite a while!

Also Thelonia finally (just about) getting a new peak after Marian Hill was still their biggest hit right up until tonight excellent stuff! And 15th is a lot higher than I'd have predicted for DJ Koze too, a really wonderful vibey track hooray for Anathema making the top 20 this time too. All in all pretty pleasing results, and you have been a brilliant host Pete! Land of DW hosting in July then? ;o

Well my nerves are shattered after that. As innovative and thrilling as Pete's new format was, it was NOT kind to Desbuanda ... I can definitely relate to Jade's experience of a frustratingly cruel trajectory! Went from maintaining a (surprise) jury top 10 to teetering for an age around the top 15 (something I haven't actually secured in over three years, so a big deal!), before the song finally landed on its lowest position throughout the entire reveal. I'm just so relieved that it still scraped the top half though, and provided a unique finishing position of #18 as a bonus, especially with all the bottom 10 predictions and typically woeful odds. Also so happy to just about stay ahead of Taahino (nothing personal, Lindsey ) as 'Bedroom' has been a continually (and inexplicably) neglected potential of mine for almost a year, so it would've been an extra kick in the balls to see it overtake in literally the final minute!

Anyway, can't complain overall - I both adore and had a lot of confidence in 'Take Back Time' so it's very pleasing that it did become a hit of sorts despite the poor Plug reception etc. Many thanks to all who gave it love, particularly Jonjo and Cian for the top points! <3

Aaand I'm extremely satisfied with that winner - congratulations Frank! Lyrically and emotionally it stood out a mile from the pack, and as Leww said, it's one of those inherently special tracks that I think anyone can appreciate and respect on some level, even if the style or genre doesn't appeal. Funnily enough I don't imagine I'll seek it out much despite it being my clear 18-pointer as it doesn't have strong replay-value for me, but its whole delivery is so arresting that I'd still consider it the contest's best. Was also exciting to see Quintessa dark horse it with an inspired entry, and glad that FSR Rontvia and St. Burbia followed through on their hype to achieve top 10s.

Big thanks to you, Pete, for a wonderfully hosted contest and captivating final!

Also, amazed but loving how well Wandering Hearts did. Although 'Devil' isn't my favourite, it's still great! Their album is one of my biggest revelations of the year so far. It's very similar so if anyone wants to know whether to listwn to it or not, I'd hughly recommend it

Wow, congrats Frank! While I didn't quite *get* the song the sentiment of it is undeniable, should really be a proper hit plus I'm always here for a rock winner. Very thrilled to see Aeroche, Quintessa (), S DNLD and St. Burbia joining Land of DW in the top 10!

Overall this wasn't a memorable contest for me except for the fabulous hosting of Niceland - loved the way these results were revealed even more so than the semifinals! Thanks again for hosting Pete

Wow-wow-wow, thanks a lot Guys! I was convinced that 'Bambola' coming 2nd will be my best result until 2023, so this is a real surprise.

Fantastic hosting Pete, will be close to impossible to get to this level, at least I have one more month for brainstorming (I'm pretty sure that my 'design' will be ugly af, so I'll need to come up with a semi-passable way of presenting the results).

ps. Dan was right, 'DW' stands for 'Digital Workflow', the team I was working in when I started my 'bjsc-experience'. Yes, I'm THIS creative. Be prepared.

Cowtermont only qualifying because of Greenfroze's deduction!! Was so close to losing 4 of my top 5 of semi 1 then... lucky for them then as semi 2 was obviously much more friendly for them to go top 20 in the final! I predicted on plug that Desbuanda would be one of the two scraping through because of the deduction, safe to say I was way off on that one (that one was a grower, eek at it actually turning out to be underperforming from the semi-final!)

Semi 2's results pretty closely matching to the final for once though (aside from Dobago also overperforming after scraping in).
