M5 to scrape top 40 with this summer please (deserved far better mind :'( ) and Jess for #1 with her best solo song
This looks like it's going to be the first week I'm actually able to listen to the Friday chart show live.
You did this solely to create the impression Sarah Harding has any place in a chart thread didn't you Joseph?
I'm actually awake for this week's thread so the recaps will return Album chart top 5 / new entries will be late again but hopefully not as late as they have been in past weeks
West coast being played before the charts today Still easily one of my favourites from last year
Nice hearing West Coast on Radio 1!! Nice!!! Hope they play High By The Beach in coming weeks!!

Biography
Hailing from Belgium, Arches is a new project that brings together two studio talents; Seba (Moonlight Matters) and Jochen (Sound of Stereo). Well known for their solo achievements, together Arches are an exciting new act, ready and primed to take centre stage.
Their 2014 debut single ‘There’s A Place’ generated some serious hype. Premiered by Annie Mac, picked up by Gotta Dance Dirty and featuring highly in the Hype Machine’s most popular tracks, the track was supported by every major DJ from Duke Dumont through to Madeon.
This year, Arches have unveiled their brand new single New Love – released this July via fellow native, The Magician’s, exciting new imprint, POTION.
The stellar follow-up features non other than Say Something songstress Karen Harding who comes in to provide an addictive and fierce lead vocal to complete this decadent and joyous dance production.
Initially debuted on The Magician’s renowned Magic Tape series at the start of the year, Arches’ latest offering shows a more refined approach to their songwriting. Rhythmic piano hooks serve as a driving force to give the track a head nodding bounce, whilst an insatiable bassline seamlessly ties the track together to make for a truly infectious piece of music.
With a sound that is appreciated by DJ’s and music lovers alike, Arches are certainly a unique proposition. Already knocking up accolades from the likes of Gorgon City, Lxury and Groove Armada, as well as BBC Radio 1 DJ’s Annie Mac and Danny Howard – it certainly seems that the boys from Belgium aren’t shy of making waves. - Facebook

Oh gosh I almost completely forgot it was the chart today until I saw this thread pop up! Still very much not used to it yet.
Two huge and very well publicised battles in the retros with Spiller vs Truesteppers and Oasis vs Blur!
Retro faves~
2014
1- LOVERS ON THE SUN- David Guetta Ft Sam Martin (71,165)
2- AM I WRONG- Nico & Vinz (47,874)
3- RUDE- MAGIC! (47,855)

6- LOVE RUNS OUT- OneRepublic (27,586)
8- DON’T- Ed Sheeran (26,954)
I seem to remember 'Lovers On the Sun' being quite bashed on here but it was much better for me than what had been released that era thus far (then 'Dangerous' was even better *.*) Elsewhere 'My Head is a Jungle' is utterly lush. <3
2010
1- GREEN LIGHT- Roll Deep (57,411)
2- LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE- Eminem Ft Rihanna (54,110)
3- CLUB CAN’T HANDLE ME- Flo Rida Ft David Guetta (47,999)
4- WE NO SPEAK AMERICANO- Yolanda Be Cool Vs D-Cup (38,354)
8- AIRPLANES- B.o.B Ft Hayley Williams (29,135)
10- ALL TIME LOW- The Wanted (25,283)
Roll Deep with their two number ones that year! I have to say I much prefer 'Good Times' but 'Green Light' was a whole lot of fun as well.
2005
1- I’LL BE OK- McFly (45,814)
3- BAD DAY- Daniel Powter (27,000)*
7- SINCE U BEEN GONE- Kelly Clarkson (11,600)*
9- OOH LA LA- Goldfrapp (10,100)*
Pretty standard McFly fare there but I still quite enjoyed 'I'll Be OK', they had much worse in their discography.
2000
1- GROOVEJET (IF THIS AIN’T LOVE)- Spiller (202,600)
3- ROCK DJ- Robbie Williams (74,500)
4- I TURN TO YOU- Mel C (69,000)*
6- FREESTYLER- Bomfunk Mc’s (37,000)*
7- 7 DAYS- Craig David (37,000)*
Ooh, THAT battle! I've always much preferred 'Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)' to 'Out of Your Mind' despite being a Spice Girls fan.
1995
1- COUNTRY HOUSE- Blur (274,000)
2- ROLL WITH IT- Oasis (216,000)
3- I LUV U BABY- Original (73,000)*
4- NEVER FORGET- Take That (58,000)*
5- WATERFALLS- T.L.C (46,000)*
9- KISS FROM A ROSE/ I’M ALIVE- Seal (26,000)*
Ooh, THAT battle! [2] I actually really like both tracks but Oasis have a very special place in my heart. I've always found 'Roll With It' generally really underrated when people talk about their favourites in their discography, sooo good. <3
I still can't believe it's been one year since "Shake It Off".

Biography
Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. Before the group was formed the original four members of then 1994 band were known as Kara's Flowers while its members were still in high school and originally consisted of Adam Levine (lead vocals, guitar), Jesse Carmichael (guitar, backing vocals) Mickey Madden (bass guitar) and Ryan Dusick (drums). The band, which self-released an album called We Like Digging?, was named after a girl the group had a crush on. They signed to Reprise Records and released an album, The Fourth World, in 1997. After a tepid response to the album, the band parted ways with the record label and the members attended college.
In 2001, the band changed their image by adding guitarist James Valentine and pursuing a new direction under the name Maroon 5. At this point, Carmichael switched to playing keyboards, which has since become his main instrument in the band. After these changes, Maroon 5 signed with Octone Records and released their debut album, Songs About Jane, in June 2002. The album's lead single, "Harder to Breathe", received heavy airplay, which helped the album to debut at number six on the Billboard 200 chart. The band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. For the next few years, they toured extensively worldwide in support of Songs About Jane and produced two live recordings: 2004's 1.22.03.Acoustic and 2005's Live – Friday the 13th. In 2006, Dusick officially left Maroon 5 after suffering from serious wrist and shoulder injuries and was replaced by Matt Flynn. The band then recorded their second album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long and released it in May 2007. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and the lead single, "Makes Me Wonder", became the band's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100.
In September 2010, Maroon 5 released their third studio album Hands All Over, which was re-released in 2011 to include the single "Moves like Jagger". While the original version of the album received mixed reviews, "Moves like Jagger" reached the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100. The band released their fourth album, Overexposed, on June 26, 2012. All four singles of the album were highly successful on the Billboard Hot 100, including second single "One More Night", which reached number one. In 2014, the band signed with Interscope Records and released their fifth studio album, V, with the very-first line-up of six official band members, as keyboardist and backing vocalist PJ Morton became an official member in 2012. The same year, a longtime friend of the band and bass player of Phantom Planet, Sam Farrar, became an official touring member, performing the keyboards with Carmichael and Morton. The album debuted atop the Billboard 200. Maroon 5 has sold more than 27 million albums and 48 million singles worldwide. - Wikipedia

Biography
Fifth Harmony is an American girl group formed on the second season of the X Factor USA. The group consists of members Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, and Lauren Jauregui. They signed a joint deal with Syco Music, owned by Simon Cowell, and Epic Records, L.A. Reid's record label, after finishing in third place behind Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar on the show.
Following their exit from The X Factor, their debut single "Miss Movin' On" was released and peaked at number 76 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over 500,000 digital downloads. Their debut EP, Better Together was released in 2013 with a first week position of number six on the US Billboard 200. Fifth Harmony won MTV's Artist To Watch award at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.
Following the release of singles, "BO$$" (2014) and "Sledgehammer" (2014), both of which were certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling over 1,000,000 digital downloads, their debut studio album, Reflection was released in February 2015. The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200, with 80,000 units sold in the first week. The album was also supported by the group's first major headlining tour, the Reflection Tour.
The Reflection Tour started on February 27, 2015, in San Francisco. Jasmine V, Jacob Whitesides and Mahogany Lox were the opening acts. When it ended on March 27, 2015, in Philadelphia, a second leg was announced for July 15 through September 15, and will feature Bea Miller, Debby Ryan, and Natalie La Rose as opening acts. [6] The first leg of the tour grossed over $1.1 million alone, making it the group's highest grossing tour yet.
On June 3, 2015, "Worth It" featuring American rapper Kid Ink (the third single from Reflection) was certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling 1,000,000 copies in the United States. 'Worth It' also became the group's first Top 15 hit , after peaking at number 14 on Billboard Hot 100. With 3.5 million singles sold in the United States alone, from their EP, Better Together, and their debut studio album, Reflection, Fifth Harmony has emerged as one of the most successful alumni from the X Factor US franchise and have also been labeled the most influential contestant to come from the series. - Wikipedia

Biography
Joe Stone can be seen as the newest entry onto the deep/future house scene, as his debut single 'The Party (This Is How We Do It)' is truly making waves among the DJ community. But while the name is new to the scene, the background of this DJ/productional act already speaks volumes, ranging from classical music training to producing timeless house tunes and remixes for some of the biggest names out there.
Joe Stone is the alter ego of Dutch DJ Maurice Oude Booyink, who's been working as a DJ/producer for years. He starts his musical career at an early age, playing keys at the age of seven, and it doesn't take him long to create new, original melodies. Growing up on a diet of funk and soul music, he masters these styles in his first band at the age of sixteen, followed by producing his first dance records.
While playing in bands, Maurice releases solo material under his Inmado guise as well as doing productional work for other artists (R3hab, Sharon Doorson a.o.). When he wins a Spinnin' Records DJ Contest with his version of DVBBS' single 'Pyramids', it immediately draws attention from the world famous label.
When working on new music, Joe Stone gets joined by Mark Simmons, who's built quite a name for himself already, being one of the producers behind Rockefeller (scoring big with 'Do It 2 Nite' in 2005) and the Beatfreakz project, reaching high in 2006 with their singles 'Somebody's Watching Me' (#3 in the UK Singles Chart) and, that same year, 'Superfreak' (#7 in the UK Singles Chart).
'The Party (This Is How We Do It)'
Right now, Joe Stone's first single 'The Party (This Is How We Do It)' is gaining lots of attention, as it toys with the eponymous 1995 Montell Jordan hit, repackaging it in a solid 21st century house groove, featuring the original vocals approved by Montell Jordan himself. Cool stuff that's promising a lot for the future. And be sure, there will be much more to enjoy from Joe Stone. - Facebook

Biography
Selena Marie Gomez (/səˈliːnə məˈriː ˈɡoʊmɛz/ sə-lee-nə mə-ree goh-mez; Spanish pronunciation: [ˈɡomeθ]/[ˈɣ̞o̞me̞θ̟] or [ˈɡomes]/[ˈɣ̞o̞me̞s]; born July 22, 1992) is an American actress, singer and dancer. Born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, she was first featured on the children's series Barney & Friends in the early 2000s. In 2007, Gomez came to prominence after being cast in the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place. She portrayed the starring character Alex Russo until its conclusion in 2012. She formed her band Selena Gomez & the Scene after signing a recording contract with Hollywood Records in 2008; they released the studio albums Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun Goes Down (2011) before beginning a hiatus in 2012.
Gomez entered the film industry with star billings in feature films including Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), and Hotel Transylvania (2012). She embraced an increasingly mature public image with her star billing in the controversial film Spring Breakers (2013) and her debut solo studio album Stars Dance (2013). The latter project debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and spawned the Billboard Hot 100 top-ten single "Come & Get It". Gomez was released from her recording contract with Hollywood Records following the completion of her greatest hits album For You (2014). She subsequently signed with Interscope Records to continue work on her second studio album.
Beyond entertainment, Gomez has ventured into other endeavors. She has worked with numerous organizations for charitable causes, and has most notably worked with UNICEF for several years. She formed her own production company, July Moon Productions, in 2008. In Fall of 2010, Gomez launched her clothing line "Dream Out Loud" through Kmart; the brand features all material that was made from eco-friendly or recycled material. In 2011, she released a self-titled perfume. - Wikipedia

Good for you is easily one of Selena's best and hoping for another new peak next week as its now 59p Such an amazing track
I'm farting carrots
Really tragic era for Maroon 5 so far. The two singles I liked this era flopped here.
YAAAAS for Selena reaching Top 25 and getting full play!!!!
Whoops Maroon 5, thought it was going to be a hit when I first heard it but I guess not with that scraping ~
'Good For You' getting a play! brilliant stuff, hopefully in for a climb next week with the iTunes price reduction as well.
Dropouts: King, Pony (Jump On It), Body On Me, I Need Your Love
Edit: and Wings!
I've never really got Selena Gomez musically, but this is really good (for you lol) <3 I wish she wouldn't sound so muffled sometimes, but still a really interesting new direction for her.
Ouch for third dropout track.
DIE JAMES BAY.
So glad Selena managed top 25 in the end. Coming for another hit!!!
I watch music channels so much, it's refreshing to actually hear the fuller sounding version here. Great song.
40: A shame, this was quite good
39: Please go
38: I love Stole The Show.
37: It's not bad, but Body On Me is better
36: I'm disappointed this hasn't done better
35: Still doing very well
34: I love The Hills
33: I hate this.
32: I still love this.
31: Galantis have really impressed me with this and Peanut Butter Jelly
30: Thank god this is out of top 25.
29: This is only good to get Verdine White a top 10, nothing else
28: I love this
27: Harsh fall
26: I hate this.
Good For You is good, but I prefer the solo version.

Utterly fabulous. Hoping for an eventual top 10!
YESSS Galantis not quite up there with 'Runaway (U & I)' but still a whole lot of Basement Jaxx-esque fun! The video is amazing as well.

Ahahaha at Maroon 5, so close to missing the top 40 entirely. Can't believe this has done so poorly for them though after 'Sugar' was so huge, what happened suddenly?!
'Worth It' actually going back up a place! Yay longevity.
Yay for Selena climbing into the top 25 so getting a full play Easily her best song ever, so good.
Ew at 'Peanut Butter Jelly' though. Immensely irritating song.
Galantis *.* Basically the reason I tuned in. So euphoric and weirdly brilliant, miles better than Runaway (U&I) so hope it can become almost as much of a hit as that was.
Peanut Butter Jelly sounds like it'll grow on me. Where do the string samples for the song come from, it sounds quite familiar?
I'm still waiting for someone to make a better comparison to what the breakdown sounds like, I can only get reminders of Lola's Theme but I don't think that is spot on what I have in mind.
It's rather fun but I like Runaway more. A bit too silly to properly get into it more.

Biography
Cleverly using dance music blogs as the platform to launch his career, Tim Berg, aka Avicii, has since become one of the most prominent producers on the burgeoning Swedish house scene. Born in Stockholm in 1989, Berg only started making music at the age of 18, writing and remixing tracks in his bedroom and then leaking them onto various blogs. Influenced by Daft Punk and Steve Angello, his melodic house sound gained a huge following, and led to support from Tiësto, who invited him to perform a weekly residency at Privilege in Ibiza, and Pete Tong, who released first single "Manman" through his Bedroom Bedlam label. After he remixed tracks for Little Boots, Robyn, and Dizzee Rascal, Berg's first mainstream release, the Ministry of Sound instrumental "Seek Bromance," became a huge hit across Europe and later in the U.K., thanks to a vocal version featuring Amanda Wilson. In 2012 he released the song "2 Million" after reaching that number of followers on Facebook, while his single "Le7els" and its accompanying video were nominated at that year's MTV Music Video Awards. Towards the end of 2012 he released his highly-anticipated collaboration single with Nicky Romero. "I Could Be The One" was a smash hit and was featured heavily on reality TV shows and radio play across Europe. In 2013, Avicii teamed up with Ericsson and creates the first "crowdsourced" track which enabled the producer to connect to fans and promote his brand. The single "3 Million" was released to celebrate the 3 millionth fan on his Facebook page. "Le7els" was nominated for the Best Dance Recording at the 2013 Grammys but lost out to Skrillex & Sirah's "Bangarang". Ahead of his debut album #TRUE, he released the single "Wake Me Up" in June 2013. Featuring Aloe Blacc, it reached the top of the UK Charts and confidently showed off his new musical direction. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi / iTunes

Do It Again Absolutely LOVE this track, got the TV turned up to blare it out
Well, this is much better than Chryga's last appearance in the chart.
Oh I heard this for the first time and it was rather average, rather overrated.
Another song that I got into earlier than all of yous and never got any recognition from it
Ha hipster taste
This Pia Mia chick sounds like she's copying Ariana's vocal style.
Not a fan of Pia Mia tbh.
First listen and it's quite decent. It's doing really well in NZ.
Actually I take that back, this is sounding much better on second listen!
Do It Again is so average! I hope it doesn't stick around for too long.
That Pia Mia song literally defines anonymous. I would get this mixed up with just about any other current pop female if I heard it on the radio.
Great to see Pia Mia in the top 20! Hope it'll manage to climb into the top 10 at some point with its airplay starting to pick up.
I actually really like 'Do It Again'! Was expecting a terrible generic mess, got... still a generic mess really but an enjoyable one.

Not Letting Go
Not letting go feels like summer
Still loving 'Not Letting Go', one of the very few #1s of the year that I haven't got bored of within a couple of weeks (if I ever liked them in the first place).
Jess Glynne is very decent singer. Surely, she is not the best british female singer but she has the potential to be one of the bests.
I really want Tinie to make something on the vein of "Pass Out" again. That's my fave song from him EVER.
Even though it's one of Maroon 5's worst singles, This Summer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the rest of the chart tbh.
Oh and Jess for no.1 so we can have a partial Buzzjack meltdown.
Really loving drag me down now, hope it climbs back top 10 next week
Jess Glynne's voice reminds me of Adele's for some reason. Don't know why tho
Drag Me Down isn't bad, but it's definitely my least favourite number one from this year so far.

Biography
One Direction (commonly abbreviated as 1D) are an English-Irish pop boy band based in London, composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. Previously, Zayn Malik was a member until his departure from the band on 25 March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010. Propelled to international success by social media, One Direction's four albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013) and Four (2014) topped charts in most major markets, and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful", "Live While We're Young", "Story of My Life" and "Steal My Girl".
Their achievements include five Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, eleven MTV Europe Music Awards, and nineteen Teen Choice Awards out of nineteen nominations, among many others. According to Nick Gatfield, the chairman and chief executive of Sony Music Entertainment UK, One Direction represented a $50 million business empire by June 2012. They were proclaimed 2012's "Top New Artist" by Billboard. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, by April 2013, they had an estimated personal combined wealth of £25 million ($41.2m) making them the second-wealthiest musicians in the UK under 30 years of age. In 2014, Forbes listed them the second-highest earning celebrities under 30, with the group earning an estimated $75 million from June 2013 to June 2014.
After the release of Four, One Direction became the first band in the U.S. Billboard 200 history to have their first four albums debut at number one. Their third album, Midnight Memories, was the biggest-selling album worldwide of 2013 despite being released in late November. In 2014, Billboard named One Direction Artist of the Year - Wikipedia

Omen
Those 1D and Disclosure runs are really getting on my nerves. At least the former has the video release to help it.
Disclosure are on fire again this era. Cannot get enough of 'Omen' right now <333
Omen is LUSH *.* Sam should use this tone of his voice more, it's tolerable at least.
Omen has grown on me a bit, still nothing amazing but probably the best thing Disclosure have done this era (which sounds quite sad considering how good they were last time :'()
'Omen' has slightly grown on me, but it's still not great.
This is not very good. It's so boring and uninteresting.
Omen sounding great

Biography
Jason Joel Desrouleaux (born September 21, 1989), better known by his stage name Jason Derulo (an alternate spelling of his name which shares the same pronunciation), is an American singer, songwriter and dancer. Since the start of his career as a solo recording artist in 2009, Derulo has sold over 45 million singles and has achieved ten career platinum singles, including "Wiggle", "Talk Dirty", "In My Head", and "Whatcha Say".
After producing records for several artists and writing songs for Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman, Young Money Entertainment owner Lil Wayne and rapper Diddy, Derulo signed to minor recording label Beluga Heights. After Beluga Heights became part of the Warner Music Group, Derulo released his debut single "Whatcha Say" in May 2009. It sold over five million digital downloads, gaining an RIAA certification of triple platinum, and reaching number 1 in the U.S. and New Zealand. Derulo released his second single, "In My Head", in December 2009. His debut album, Jason Derulo, was released on March 2, 2010. He released his second studio album, Future History, on September 16, 2011, the album was preceded by the release of the UK number-one single "Don't Wanna Go Home". Derulo's third international album, Tattoos, was released on September 24, 2013, while Derulo's third U.S album Talk Dirty was released on April 15, 2014.
In 2015, Derulo released his top 40 single "Want to Want Me" and announced his fourth studio album, Everything Is 4 set to be released on June 2, 2015. - Wikipedia

Want to want me remains awful
After completely collapsing this is holding up brilliantly! shame it couldn't get more weeks top 10.
Want To Want Me is good, but Cheyenne is way better.
Want to Want Me still sounding great
Omen sticking around quite well, it's not exactly a killer single though it's nice to see them get at least one genuine smash out of the era
'Omen' is growing on me, glad to see it having some degree of longevity.

Biography
Amsterdam's Sam Feldt earned attention in Europe and then worldwide for his melodic house remixes, mixtapes, and collaborations including 2014's "Bloesem" with De Hofnar and "Hot Skin" with Kav Verhouzer on Dutch label Spinnin' Records. After a series of live shows in Europe, which he built over time to contain mostly his own productions, he toured North America for the first time in early 2015. "Midnight Hearts" with the Him featuring ANG13 followed soon after, and that spring, Feldt signed with Universal Music for worldwide release of his song "Show Me Love" featuring English vocalist Kimberly Anne. - iTunes

I'm so bored of 'Want To Want Me'.
Loving "Want To Want Me" still.
This man knows how to make hits!! One of my favourite No1.s!
Can Want You To Want Me go away please. It's a good song to sing in the shower tho .
Still get America's Best Dance Crew vibes from JDR. When are they releasing "Cheyenne" to the UK?
Ew show me love
Show Me Love is so dull.
Slowly been warming to this cover of Show Me Love. The birds are quite the novelty addition!
'Show Me Love' is actual torture, can't bear it.
The "Alex Jaehn" cover of 'Ain't Nobody' is a bit more tolerable.
Please piss off Sam Feldt.
Gone of Jason Derulo's Want to Want me now
*falls asleep*
The verses are very good..
Ok. I think this is the worst version of Show Me Love I have ever heard . Bland and irritating to listen to.
I suspect this has been getting slated a lot in here over the last few weeks. Haters to the left plz, this is lush
The desired effect of relaxation that this song aims to achieve is rather stifled because it makes me angry for some reason lmao. DESCEND at a quicker rate please.

Ah, that's better. Lean On is great.
As much as I like this song, it really needs to move on quickly now. Powerful can take its place.

I'm so glad Lean On was so big. One of my favourite songs this year!

Still love this every listen
Cheerleader sounds really old now Too overplayed I think.
I loved Cheerleader three years ago. Still love it now. Sounds even better on a sunny day like today.
Oh my god, I will never hear this song the same again.
My mum genuinely asked me if the lyrics were, "oh I think that I've found myself a jelly bear" - I CANNOT.

Glitterball remains wonderful, such an amazing track
This, like almost all Sigma singles has got boring pretty quickly. The video's still great though.
It held up better than the post-"Ghost" Ella singles but I fear for her career
This was quite a smash, wasn't it? I thought it would drop off quickly. Love it!

Still descending at a decent rate and deservedly so - great song but its time is up by this point.

I like Shine. It's quite endearing.
Oh my gosh! Oooooh again.. Why do they use it so much?? "Shine" is better than "Glitterball" though.
Only one less top 10 week than King! Not too shabby
Shine Fab as ever
Fantastic to see Cilla as this week's #1 album. Such a great tribute.
CILLA *.*
All those years of watching Blind Date and Surprise Surprise when I was young, I never even realised she'd been a famous singer three decades before. What an iconic No.1 album, although it ought to have the Surprise, Surprise theme tune.
Ooh fantastic stuff with Cilla being the number one album! (Bray your hen will be pleased :cheeseblock:) Quite a few classics in her discography.

Biography
Walk the Moon (often stylized as WALK THE MOON) is an American Indie rock band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lead singer Nicholas Petricca started the band in 2008 and went through several member changes before finally coming together with current members Kevin Ray, Sean Waugaman, and Eli Maiman in 2010. The band derives their name from the song "Walking on the Moon" by The Police. The group independently released their debut album, I Want! I Want!, in November 2010, receiving airplay for the track "Anna Sun" on multiple Alternative radio stations. In February 2011, Walk the Moon signed with Mick Management. They signed to RCA Records and released their first major label album, their second overall, the self-titled Walk the Moon, in June 2012. It is composed of many of their original tracks from I Want! I Want! as well as new tracks that were written specifically for the album and were meant to reflect the kind of energy the band produced in their live shows. In December 2014, the band released their second major-label studio album, Talking Is Hard. This album included their biggest hit to date, "Shut Up and Dance," which has so far charted at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number 1 on Billboard's Rock Songs chart and Billboard's Alternative Songs chart.
SPIN Magazine has described them as a "poppy, art-rock quartet". They were also deemed a Nylon Magazine Band Crush for their "swirly pop beats, infectious guitar riffs, and loud, sing-a-long choruses." - Wikipedia

What an unbelievable run this has had! probably still at least 2-3 weeks in the top 10 left. Now can they avoid the one hit wonder tag?
Yay for Cilla
I'm liking shut up and dance again now! I literally love this one week, hate it next, like it next, hate it next
I'm starting to get bored of Shut Up + Dance sadly.
Walk The Moon
Shut Up And Dance is just never gets old. Never thought it would be as huge as it was.
Oh, and yes for Cilla being number one!
Another week at #8 for Walk The Moon! <3 Saving the top 10 more and more each week.
Loving the longevity of this!
Great to see Cilla at #1! Also, so glad Walk The Moon has had such success with "Shut Up And Dance".
Would've been amusing to see Bullet for my Valentine at number 1, but Cilla being number 1 feels more appropriate I guess. Can't imagine how low the sales will be for it tho :S
Shut Up & Dance still sounding brilliant I expected it to be a long runner, and it hasn't disappointed!
Walk the Moon
Great Number one album such a amazing tribute
A lovely tribute for Cilla to get a #1 album. Odd that it took so long after her death for it to get to #1 though (I guess it was probably helped by the coverage of her funeral this week but still).
This reminds me of 80's. "Anna Sun" should have had the same success with it. Both of them are very good.

Are you with me- so dull
Are You With Me is good.
Awww missing #6... hope Reality can do something here when/if released.
Please drop faster! It's just lifeless. Waves already came and did the sound better.
This remains beautiful as ever
I have mixed feelings about this song. It has nice rhythm but it's so generic.
Lost Frequencies
Also another track that I'm pleased has stuck around the top 10, it's so beautiful in its 'evening vista' feel. <3
Black Magic is fantastic, it's refreshing to see a track like it smash.
Black magic is such an amazing pop gem
'Intoxicated' top 5. Yay!
Oooh, Martin at Top 5!!!!

Biography
Little Mix (formerly known as Rhythmix) is an English girl group formed in 2011, consisting of members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson. They were formed exclusively for the eighth series of The X Factor in 2011 and became the first group to win the competition. Following their victory, they signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music and released a cover of Damien Rice's "Cannonball" as their winner's single.
Little Mix released their debut album DNA on 19 November 2012. It charted in the top 5 in eight countries, including number two in the UK and number four on the US Billboard 200. This made Little Mix the first girl group since The Pussycat Dolls to reach the U.S. top 5 with their debut album, as well as earning the highest debut U.S. chart position by a British girl group, breaking the record previously held by the Spice Girls, whose 1996 debut Spice charted at number five. As of December 2014, Little Mix have sold over 7.5 million records worldwide. - Wikipedia

Black Magic has grown into my second favourite track of theirs now (only behind DNA), such a joyous pop anthem
'Black Magic' will have a place in my heart as my 18th birthday number one, but meh aside from that.
More importantly ~ Martin Solveig top 5!!
Impressed at "Intoxicated" making top 5!
Black Magic is nice enough. Move deserved it's success tho.
This is definitely one of the best pop songs this year! It has nice video too.
Very impressive for Martin Solveig to get a top 5 - 'Intoxicated' has taken its time to click with me but I'm really liking it now (sorry Math )
Black Magic really just isn't tiring on me, such a feel good pop song which doesn't pretend to be anything else.
Glad that Solveig finally gets a deserved top 10 single but I wish it was with +1 & not this weaker effort...
I really like Intoxicated.

I loved 'Intoxicated' from the moment I checked out the songs from that BJSC contest, wonderful to see it become an actual hit now! Such a quirky jam <3
Intoxicated is such an anthem! Love it!
God, I love this SO much!
I was at a party last weekend and just kept putting this on over and over again.
I wasn't too much of a big fan of Hello, to be honest. Love Intoxicated though.
I love Rejection, C'est La Vie, I Want You, Something Better, The Night Out and Ready 2 Go from him.
This is quite good on first listen!
Still wish hello was the number #1 smash it deserved to be
Great
Fantastic song
I hope after this success +1 gets a release in the UK too
First time I'm hearing Intoxicated, and love it already .
Intoxicated is pretty good, though Hello was WAY better (and should've charted higher :'().
Intoxicated is quite unusual but I do really love it.

Brilliant for Martin + GTA also echoing the hopes of +1 getting a future push
Can't Feel My Face is lush!!! The music video is weird though.
I guess that Intoxicated will sound great in the clubs. However, it doesn't happen the same at home..

Don't Be So Hard On Yourself number one! I'm really pleased.
Love Marvin Gaye as well
Yay for Jess getting another number 1, don't be so hard on yourself is great
Starting to see a pattern here. If Greg announces the #2 as early as 5:35 it's because he needs to have a chat with the person at #1. And on those weeks the top 10 feels a lot more rushed with less tension staging by Greg.
Yesss!!! Jess 'Queen Of Music' Glynne with her fifth #1!
Got the album this morning & loving it so far too
Marvin Gaye is a very good song too, smiles all round.
Well done Jess
The Jess song is okay but I'm a bit bored of her at the moment. STILL, miles ahead of 'Marvin Gaye' so I call that a good result.
JESS DID IT!
Jess Glynne sounding amazing as always
Big congrats to Jess Glynne, I don't really like the song but that is such a fantastic achievement for her.
Ooh!!! Jess is #1!!! She equalled Cheryl's record in such a short time too!!!!
Marvin Gaye is still ok right now despite the cheesy lyrics. The numbers for these two songs should be interesting!!!!

YASSS for Dame Jess Glynne QoM SoBM CWSE getting that record matching snatchT *.*
(also yay for 'Marvin Gaye' only getting one week at #1)
YAS Jess soon to make Cheryl irrelevant, the world better watch out
Waiting for that meltdown from Lee
Marvin Gaye is outdated but it's very beautiful song.
YES. Congrats Jess!
Happy for Jess Glynne, DBSHOY is such a jam. Plus, it's prevented 'Marvin Gaye' having multiple weeks at #1, which can only be a good thing.
(Having said that, I still resent the fact that 'Right Here' is by far her lowest-peaking single ).
Jess slaying :cheeseblock: (admittedly it's not quite as good as Hold My Hand, but it's still v. strong + the meltdowns on here)
Thank Christ that Marvin Gaye thing is off number 1, contender for worst chart topper of the year, hideous.
GET IT JESS GLYNNE.
Queen of British Music snatching another #1, smashing down records of your cheap Geordie slag faves. SAVIOUR.
Next week's #1 contender

Hope this keeps off both Fight Song & Ain't Nobody off #1 next week, neither of which are very good.
Ooh, Fight Song making impact this week!!! I'm worried for Carly's album though.
I'd imagine it must be very close.
Well Done Jess Glynne! However, her new song is not so good as "Hold My Hand". I believe that Cheryl has better No.1s than her.
Another really good song from Jess on first listen, albeit not quite as good as 'Hold My Hand'. She now has 3 of my 4 favourite #1s of the year I'd say (David Zowie 1st, then 'Not Letting Go', then 'Hold My Hand', then this).
Thanks for joining us again, see you next Friday
So pleased for Jess! DBSHOYS is a great song.
So happy Jess got to #1!
Deorro, Afrojack... lost nowhere even Watermat\TAI\Becky Hill are under the top-100... and Arches\Harding, of course. This week with great amount of releases didn't make me glad
She's the latest artist since Pharrell Williams to score three or more number 1s in the same year
Thanks for the amazing job you've done as co-host today Joseph, I'm looking forward to more great Friday Chart days like this. It's crazy this is Jess Glynne's fifth number one already, despite the fact as a big star Jess kind of goes under the radar in my eyes, which is a good thing.
I learned a lot today, I never knew that Martin Solveig was the man behind Hello and what Galantis sampled for Peanut Butter Jelly, another song I'm overjoyed to see finally cracking the top 40 this week!
*.* 5 #1's in 18 months ~ all ye basic kneel b4 queen jess
fantastic result for martin solveig ~ so glad 'intoxicated' managed to hang on for a top5 smash in the end
galantis rocketing up the chart is most pleasing~
