Since the majority of this site hates Ed Sheeran and/or his music, or simply just hates how he’s stained the charts forevermore, I thought it would be fun to put all of your hate to the test and have a running poll on what everyone’s LEAST (and MOST) favourite Ed Sheeran song is!
You can vote for one single in each category, with one obviously being your least favourite and the other your most favourite. Notable featured and promotional singles included, some aren’t actually singles but chatted/were sort of big anyway.
Have fun (ready for the Shape hate x)
All of them
There are SO many duds but the absolute worst has to be I See Fire possibly the most boring song ever created.
Best is still by far and away You Need Me!
Best - Don't (Sing)
Worst - Perfect (Thinking Out Loud)
Can't decide between Small Bump, Perfect and Galway Girl.
'Shape of You' massively boils my piss as well.
best:
Photograph and the early singles (The A team, Lego house)
worst:
the big ballads with crappy lyrics, Perfect ("I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets/ To carry love, to carry children of our own") and Thiking out loud ("darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70")
plus Galway Girl, that's what I call cultural appropriation, hate how this is now played on every Irish pub like if it were the Irish national anthem :/
and finally Barcelona, which could easily have the Guiness record for more stupid topics put in a song
The best is still The A Team for me. Also still love You Need Me, Lego House, Thinking Out Loud and Shape Of You in particular.
The worst is probably How Do You Feel (Paean) if that's counted as a single, proof that hype and name alone can bag you a smash hit as big as No.2 in the UK somehow, such a dull album filler with nothing to it whatsoever.
Least fav: Small Bump (followed by How Would You Feel)
Most fav: Don’t (which is leagues ahead of anything else tbh)
As much as I don’t mind his debut era I don’t go back to any of those songs because they’re just so dreary and I’m never in the mood. Sing was a nice way to start album 2 but Don’t is soooooo much better than anything else he’s done
I See Fire, Castle on the Hill and Bloodstream are my top 3 favourites I think, I definitely like it when he gets more epic and less mushy.
Though as irritating as his dull ballads can be, I don't think I dislike anything more than Sing, actually drives me crazy. Didn't particularly like anything from his debut either, Lego House especially.
Photograph should win teebs.
I voted for Galway Girl as the worst
Perfect is by far the worst for me
Faves are probs The A Team, You Need Me and Castle On The Hill
Worst: shape of you
Best: end game (everything has changed/Galway girl close behind)
My least favourite is A-Team and my favourite is Shape Of You. Shape Of You is a great song
Least Fave: Small Bump
Fave: Photograph (YNMIDNY 2nd)
I voted for 'Give Me Love' as my favourite Ed song! I love the chorus and the part when it gets pretty intense with the "my, my, my, my, give me love, lover" deep vocals / Ed's passionate "loveeeee me!" delivery. 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' is a very close second though.
I voted 'How Would You Feel (Paean)' as my least favourite. Rich summed up my thoughts perfectly, it's pretty unmemorable and just serves as dull album filler.
I'm appalled that What Do I Know isn't featured as it's my absolute least favourite Ed Sheeran song but I guess it was never a single, yet it's overplayed as f--k in Iceland.

omg I thought this was gonna be one of those awful drawn out round by round things
I love The A Team, You Need Me, Drunk, Give Me Love, I See Fire, Sing, Don't, Castle On The Hill, Everything Has Changed and I Was Made For Loving You, Sing or I See Fire being my fave but I went for Sing. I actually like Shape Of You and Thinking Of You a fair bit on their own but both are SO overplayed, particularly the former as it can sneak into clubs and stuff as well
The worst is How Would You Feel probably, completely dull and just feels like a Poundland version of some of his other more boring tracks which I just don't see the point of.
I loathe the majority of his singles, but 'Castle On The Hill' is another level. The lyrics are DREADFUL.
'Photograph' is my favourite and probably the only single I'd actively go out my way to listen to (albeit the Felix Jaehn remix). 'Don't' is alright too.
Edit: I'm quite shocked 'Photograph' is in the lead actually. It always seemed the most forgotten of his recent singles, but I guess it wasn't killed by overplay as much as the others.
Favourite: Give Me Love (shoutouts to Thinking Out Loud, Shape of You and Sing too)
Least Favourite: River
Favourite: Bloodstream closely followed by The A Team & Photograph
Least Favourite: Perfect
I think I'm gonna go with 'Small Bump' as the worst, despite some very stiff competition (especially from the current era).
Favourite... 'Thinking Out Loud' (don't shoot me).
Yes defaze The Felix Jaehn remix of 'Photograph' is heaven and one of my all time favourite remixes
The song just hits me on a personal level. It's a really beautiful song imo.
Least Hush Little Baby
Most liked Thinking Out Loud with photograph a close second.
I totally forgot 'All Of The Stars' existed. I can't remember if I ever heard that one. There are a few of those features that I've never heard as well.
'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' remains my favourite Ed song, I really like most of his discography though! Among his singles as lead artist the only ones I don't rate much are 'Drunk' and 'Don't', both of which I liked at first but they just got boring (kinda the same with 'Shape Of You' to an extent as well). I also dislike the Beyoncé version of 'Perfect' but I still like the solo version (and the Andrea Bocelli one). Since it's included in the poll though, I voted for 'How Would You Feel (Paean)' as my least favourite, there's really nothing to that song at all, most of his recent ballads are pretty crap and that's the worst of them. 'Supermarket Flowers' is not far behind (I don't count that as a proper single, not yet anyway).
Quite surprised at 'Photograph' being in the lead for favourite song, it does rank somewhere up there for me as well though! Also alongside 'The A Team', 'I See Fire', 'Thinking Out Loud', 'Bloodstream' and 'Castle On The Hill' all fantastic songs.
tough to pick an outright favourite, close between the likes of Sing / Don't / Castle On The Hill
least favourite is River i guess, not heard all of these mind you
Best: Don't
Worst: Galway Girl
FAVOURITES:
Small Bump
Drunk
You Need Me I Dont Need You
I See Fire
Photograph
Lay it on me
LEAST FAVOURITES:
Galway Girl
Perfect
Fave Castle
Least Fave How You Feel (just extremely dull)
Small Bump for least, Thinking Out Loud for best.
Best:- Castle On The Hill
Worst:- Boe Me
Least favourite: Small Bump (followed by Perfect)
Favourite: YNMIDNY (followed by Bloodstream)
My favourite is between 'I See Fire' and 'The A Team', which I loved but rarely listen to anymore, and 'Give Me Love', 'Don't' and 'Bloodstream' (Rudimental remix), which I only liked but have held up quite well. Probably either 'I See Fire' or 'Bloodstream'. So I decided by.... scrolling down and picking my current jam 'End Game' instead Also want to shout out 'Dark Times' - I never even bothered to listen to it until last year, but it's actually really interesting and nothing like what I'd have expected from the 2 names behind it.
Least favourite (ignoring 3 collabs I've never heard) is 'Perfect', the bottom of the barrel on an album that's... already the bottom of the barrel for me. Potential runner-up is 'Photograph', admittedly semi-irrationally because it just really bugged me how redundant it felt, following 4 singles that each offered some unique selling point... and almost 4 years after the album release it's still all over the Spotify charts
Favourite: Photograph
Least Favourite: You Need Me
