After watching the UCI Track Cycling World Cup I'm hoping to be able to watch the final two rounds early this year! Other than that we've got all the big cycling tours later in the year to look forward to as per usual.

The family of three-time world champion cyclist Kelly Catlin, who died aged 23 last week, say she had changed after crashing her bike last year.

They believe she took her own life as a consequence of two accidents. Again this is just awful to hear.

Belgian cyclist Victor Campenaerts has broken the one-hour world record set by Sir Bradley Wiggins four years ago.

The 27-year-old covered 55.089km at the Bicentenario velodrome in Mexico - 563m more than British rider Wiggins managed in London 2015.

Campenaerts picked the Aguascalientes venue because of its altitude of 1,800m.
