BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ The UK Chart ~ 2018

December tomorrow (!) so I think it’s time to get some predictions in biggrin.gif

Who’s going to dominate 2018? Male or female artists?

I’m going to say it’ll be a good year for new artists. I can see Stefflon Don being the next big thing and Rita Ora, Dua Lipa and Camila Cabello should continue to do well.

It’s very unlikely that we’ll get any new music from Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran thank god.

Predict away!

I already did a thread for this I thought ohmy.gif , albeit not with a poll, this is a better thread anyway because of the poll. wink.gif

I think urban will dominate like I would say it has in the second half of this year. I think there will be a small revival of dance music in the charts, probably more tech house hits because of its popularity at the minute with Cola being a hit. Future bass will probably go more out of fashion during next year especially by the end of the year.

I don't think the iTunes store will close anytime soon. Not everyone is obsessed with the Official Chart, just because streaming takes up the majority of "sales" doesn't mean that iTunes is useless. Most people who buy music probably don't even know/care about the Official Chart and just buy music purely because they enjoy it and not to influence any chart.
