Hello people - yes, I know it's Thursday, but I have to get my personal top 20 up today cause I'm busy all day tomorrow. Hope you're all doing well anyway. Is Olly Murs about to make it three weeks at the top, or will the might of hot new singles from Mark Ronson with Camila Cabello amongst others bring his time at the top to an end? Here's your answer...

CHART COMMENTARY



It's new number one time again. And just a couple of weeks after 'Late Night Feelings', his six week chart topper from May with Lykke Li finally dipped out of our top 20 following a fourteen week stay (it is still on the chart this week at #26), Mark Ronson finds himself back at the top of my chart again with the second single from his latest album.

'Find U Again' is his collaboration with Camila Cabello, giving both artists their third number one hits apiece, as well as Ronson his second number one of the year. The only other act to have had two chart toppers in 2019 so far are Now United. Camila's appearance on 'Senõrita', the #2 record from Shawn Mendes, also means she is the first artist since Ed Sheeran in 2017 to appear on both the top 2 singles in my weekly chart.



The commanding debut at the top of our chart for 'Find U Again' aside, it's a very quiet top 10 this week, with many of the existing hits just rearranging themselves (the one exception to this being RuthAnne, who tumbles from her #6 entry last week to this week's #21).

It thus falls to the record at #7 to be our second biggest newcomer of the week. Swedish singer songwriter Léon first released her debut single 'Falling' last November. That time out, it failed to make my top 40 - only getting as high as #67. A renewed boost from her record company in the last few weeks has seen a reactivation of the track and strong airplay, which now sends the lush, 60s inspired ballad hurtling into the top 10.



Until this week, Dido has never managed to have more than three top 20 hits in a row from one album. That all changes as 'Friends', the fourth single from her 'Still On My Mind' album enters at this week's #13, and represents a reversal in fortunes after 'Take You Home' failed to make it past its #18 debut in April.



The top 20 rounds off with our last two new entries this week - and for which we sadly have to get out the 'Could have done better' file. First to Shakespears Sister - #2, you will remember, back in May with their comeback single 'All The Queen's Horses'. Their album 'The Singles Party: 1988 - 2019' debuted inside the top 10 of my album chart a few weeks ago, so maybe that is the reason the rather cheekily titled second single 'C U Next Tuesday' can only make a rather desultory #19.



And lastly at #20, another huge starlet of ten years ago returns to our fold, as Little Boots - who was at the top of our chart exactly ten years ago to the week with her third consecutive chart topper 'Remedy', and who had my biggest single of 2009 with her first number one 'Stuck on Repeat', can only just scrape into my top 20 with 'Jump', the first single off a forthcoming new EP. Back to the drawing board, one suspects on this performance.
