It is 15 years since the debut single 'Pon de Replay' came out, the song that started it all for Rihanna.
It peaked at #2 in the UK when it was released in August 2005. What do you make of this song? |

We love this legendary BOP *.*
I remember the first time I heard the song and watched the video on KISS TV in 2005 in my living room, I knew she was going to be a star. Crazy to think that she was just 17 when she released this banger of a debut single. Pon De Replay has really aged well too! The song still goes off. |

I remember buying the CD single in ASDA along with GA's Long Hot Summer. All through that summer holiday the music channels were all about this and Don't Cha. Such a strong debut single from her and imo it has stood the test of time. It's impossible not to bop to it whenever it comes on. Those earrings though.

I genuinely really didn’t like this at all back in 2005 and I thought she’d be one of those one or two hit wonders type acts. I’ll admit it now I got her so wrong.
The song itself has grown a lot! I’d love it if come out today. Weirdly I don’t think it’s aged like it still sounds current and could actually work as being a hit now. It’s a great track looking back and she does possess star quality and attitude in the video as well. This always sounds perfect in a club or during warm weather. |

I think everyone thought that thought that, until 'SOS' came along the general consensus was that she'd just fade away. I don't think anyone could predict she'd go on to become what she did. It's always fun when it's played on a night out. I only really occasionally go back to it by choice though. |

BUMP
Didn't see her having the success that she gone to have. After If It's Lovin That You Want', I thought that she would fade away, I'm glad that I was proved wrong. |

It's always fun when it's played on a night out. I only really occasionally go back to it by choice though. Even with SOS it seemed more like she'd got lucky and become a two-hit wonder. It wasn't really until Umbrella / Good Girl Gone Bad as anyone started taking her seriously as a pop force. |
