The first episode of this was brilliant, as good as anything from the first series.

Catching up over the last couple of weeks, this is so brilliantly written and performed by Phoebe (who really would make a magnificent Doctor). However, my favourite character is Claire, iconic - also excellently acted

I only just discovered this at the weekend so watched series 1 and I'm just 1 episode into series 2. It's incredible.
The writing, the acting, the chemistry - everything is so perfect. Fleabag, Claire and stepmum are 3 amazing characters, all perfectly played. It's just so much fun watching everyone to catch all the little facial reactions - especially Olivia Colman. Queen of face acting. And the fourth-wall breaking is expertly done. |

*comments following final episode*
‘I’m just going to open this over a bin’ I died. The continuing return of the statue too omg Saw a theory a couple of weeks ago that we (the fourth wall) are her best friend which makes SO much sense and all the more heartbreaking, especially that ending </3 Beautiful episode overall, I love Claire and Fleabag’s relationship. I know the ending brings some finality but I also feel like it leaves it open. IF the fourth wall breaks represent part of her grief then grief never goes away and so it could (and WILL) come back. It could be 5, 10 years from now, I think there’s room for more Fleabag but that’s certainly a great ending. A really special show, Phoebe is a genius. |

Absolute perfection.
I'm so sad it's finished but my god did she get it just right. Everything was spot on. I'm really going to miss Claire now. What an icon. I'm glad she got the ending she deserved too. And I hadn't even considered that *we* were her best friend - a symbol of her guilt and grief, forever hanging over her. That makes so much sense. |

I’m gutted it’s over. It’s been so incredibly well done throughout its short run.
I think this will become a show that I frequently revisit over the years |

I have to agree it's a perfect ending, I thought about the 4th wall/"us" being Boo and that just makes the show all the more heartbreakingly genius. I'm not *glad* it's over because it's a brilliant show, but I think they ended it perfectly and as a self contained 2 series story I couldn't have wanted anything more.
The "the only person I'd run through an airport for is you" scene omfg That was possibly my fave part of the entire show, my heart </3 |

Such an incredible series. The writing packs in so much in such a small timeframe. Wonderful.
Re: The fourth wall. I saw it as her losing both her mother and Boo, and having no one else left who could truly understand her. The audience was a culmination of both — she was struggling to find anyone to talk to, or to love. Until the priest. |
