Mark won't be on the US tour. I didn't realise that he had it so bad.

Yeah his life was in danger indeed… now I wonder, he mentioned somekind of hernia. English is not my main language but as far as I know hernia is irrelevant to his voice surgeries and old sepsis issues right? And I think this is more of a routine operation isnt it?

Yep! A hernia is definitely unrelated however after having 3 more major ops, a minor op is still not ideal. I had the hernia op and I was in and out the same morning.

Good on him for taking time with his family. Selfishly, I’m a bit gutted we won’t get new music any time soon but I genuinely don’t think they care about the music anymore and just want the money from touring.

To be honest, I think that's the case with all artists. More money in touring than record sales these days.

Its not necessarily a matter of getting the money bur more of a sustainability issue. We all worked in businesses and know the world of business is ruthless. If u dont generate funds you are sent home. I am pretty sure they created the previous album on a financial loss. However this break from touring could open the idea for some new music

Well it didn't stop Steps I suppose, nothing to say they couldn't do the same!

Technically Steps had 3 albums between 2017-2021 before the Platinum Collection, but artists have done it with less.

They actually had 4 albums between The Ultimate Collectionand The Platinum Collection.
2012 - Light up the world
2017 - Tears on the Dancefloor
2020 - What the future holds
2021 - What the future holds: Part 2

There was also two live albums (Party on the Dancefloor, What the future Holds Live), a remix (Stomp All Night: The Remixes) and a re-release with bonus tracks of TOTDF (Crying at the discotheque) too.

I would be keen on them doing a 're-imagined' greatest hits like Take That did in 2018, with re-recordings of their hits.

Never a fan in general of re imagined greatest hits releases as generally the new versions are never as good.
Best wishes to Mark, he is right to put his health above everything else.

The concerts in the Americas have begun. From the clips I've seen, not much change to any set-list but they've changed the arrangement of Flying Without Wings so they're not getting the audience to do Mark's bit anymore.

Did Mark pernanently quit the band and they are keeping it a secret?

In other news their special single Bop Bop Baby is certified silver for 200k sales and its their 21st certified single!

It had sold 107k physicals in the year of release and ‘sold’ an extra 93k since then.

I don't see why they'd keep it a secret. The only reason he's stepped back, from what we've heard, is that he's been unwell. There's been no indication of anything else.

Never released as a single When your looking like that is now certified GOLD!
4 years after becoming Silver! Overcame with no physical release a few of Westlife’s UK No1’s! Its UK streams are estimated around ~35 millions as of now!
On 276k in December 2021, it sold another 124k in 2.5 years, on an average of almost 1.000 copies per week!! On this rate this could become Platinum in 4-5 years smile.gif

Looking at the 'With Love' tour, they're singing some songs which have been rarely performed live.

Some include Evergreen, Beautiful in White, Angel and My Hero.

Greatest Hits certified Platinum for a 3rd time! They have now 41 platinum disks and are certified for 12.5 million albums in the UK only.
They are also certified for 8.8m singles, with a total of 21.3m + 1.5m DVDs. Total certifications are 22.8m in the UK only if not mistaken...
