The BBC have confirmed today details of 'Playlisters', a new music quiz show for Saturday evenings on BBC One to start next year. Rochelle Humes, from Buzzjack favourites The Saturdays, and her JLS turned Capital DJ hubby Marvin Humes are the hosts.

This sounds like a quite fun show actually! I love Rochelle and Marvin anyway so they sound like a good fit for this. I'm imagining this will be on the early Saturday evening slot that Pointless Celebrities usually occupies, given 'The Greatest Dancer' starts in January in the slot where 'Strictly' usually is.
The show's now gonna be called 'The Hit List' and has been confirmed for a start date of Saturday, 25th May for a six week run on BBC One at 7:30pm: https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2019/22/the-hit-list
Reading the setup for the rounds for this, I would so smash a show like this - I'm sure a few Buzzjackers would too!
Oh this sounds great! Can’t wait to see it
This show feels so Buzzjack lmao
Hopefully it gets a second series and we can put a Buzzjack team together to go on *.*
I will definitely be watching this. I miss “Never mind the buzzcocks” 😂
Sounds good. Just wish they could of found better presenters tbh!
Surely be better than BBC's other game show attempts on a Saturday night in the last few years. Who Dares Win has been the most successful one, I would say. Don't mention Len's Rhyming Game Show or whatever it was called.
An ok start, it was fun but it did feel a little slow. Way too much chat and not enough music in my opinion.
The first round was a lot slower to the other rounds.
Is it worth catching up on?
bring back an updated Pop Quiz! Pop stars showing how much (or little) they know about pop music. 30 minutes and good fun.
It's just seemed to be another version of Name That Tune. They make it sound like an original concept.
Well I loved this and already want to go on it as a contestant
I did love being able to almost play along myself given how much I know the subject matter, it was a bit too lovey-dovey and kitsch as a show though and yeah, way too much chatter, they need to find a way to balance the rounds better.
We really do need to go on this show!
Confirmed at the end of tonight's episode - and last in series - that it will be returning for a second series later this year!
Fantastic stuff, trying to find someone to be my team-mate for applying for the 2nd series. Enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting to.
This was really fun to watch and play along, I enjoyed it too! I'd love to go on it, I've been sat at home most episodes knowing all the ones they skip and thinking "I KNEW THAT I COULD HAVE GOT THAT MONEY"
One of the best things about it is that they seem to have had a fairly rigorous selection process. The contestants have generally known their stuff.
I'm like that at quizzes too, just forget stuff I know!
A special celebrity version for BBC Children In Need airs on the appeal show next Friday, the teams are as follows:
- Antony Costa (Blue) and Michelle Heaton (Liberty X)
- Nadine Coyle (Girls Aloud) and Heidi Range (Sugababes 2.0 - 4.0)
- JB Gill (JLS) and Wretch 32
So hyped for that *.*
Series 2 starts next Saturday, 16th November at 6:25pm on BBC One:
Nadine and Heidi won the Children In Need edition. Worth a watch on iPlayer to hear her say 'Taynage Kacks bey The Undertoones'
Another celebrity edition has been confirmed for Christmas on BBC One. Air date TBC but here's your lineup for that one:
Ohhh I love it
Last in the series delayed because of extra time in football.
Wasn't shown at all and not a word as to when it will be.
I'm sure it'll be on in the next few Saturday nights!
The Celebrity one is on this Saturday 28th, I'll assume Episode 6 will be put on January 4th before The Greatest Dancer or something.
They could easily combine this sort of show with 'Sounds Like Friday Night' and have a few live performances as part of the quiz and artists could promote their new material.
That would be great if they could do something like that. The ratings for the 2nd series have been quite strong for a Saturday night, so I'm hoping there's a third series (and hopefully I can find someone from my neck of the woods to audition with me).
The missing episode is on 1 February at 5:45.
Series 3 now confirmed - applications opening for filming in April! https://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/take-part/hit-list
It was a cracking contest to end the series. We will never know whether the first couple to leave were any good or not.
The Hit List returns Saturday at 6.15. Really looking forward to it.
Cartoon Heroes is a throwback and a half! Who knew it cost over $3.5 million to make the video though
Big congrats to BuzzJack’s very own Spiral and his partner who was just on there and won! Very happy for them both!
I have my eyes peeled on application castings for this for me and my sister, we’ve been itching to take part!
I knew of Adam from following each other on Twitter, didn't know the show was back til he tweeted he was on it, but glad it is, it's so fun playing along! Me and my friend want to apply too for next series, it'd be so fun to do.
Well done Spiral! You were both amazingly good.
I thought they said all of the songs in the first round had made the top five but Summer Of '69 didn't even make the top forty.
That was Spiral?
He was amazing! Well done
And I was laughing at his knowledge of female pop stars while watching it wondering whether he was a BJer! Well done though!
A really impressive pair tonight. Great knowledge across genres and eras.
Yes, agree with you.
We need to recruit the girl with the Now collection to BuzzJack
I kinda thought she might have been on here lol. Wish she opened her mouth when she spoke though!
You think she’s Hadji?
I really thought she was already a Buzzjack member. Very good music knowledge!
She was good, really enjoying this show
I didn’t even know it was back on until I saw it recorded on my planner 😂
Really enjoying this series, watch it every week!
It’s so hard to win the money though!
New series starting now with a Celeb edition!
There's a full series of celeb editions. Of course, they won't necessarily all be shown in one go. Another celeb one next week, but it's perfectly possible that they'll leave it at that for a few months
A really tense show tonight!
I know right that tactical grime move paying off!
It was bloody hilarious the two Peters were legends 🤣
I swear this is my favourite show of the weekend!
They see that had to bleep Smack My Bi*ch Up tonight during one of the answers given.
Haha yeh hilarious!
Fair play on the winners doing so well!
yeah the winners were really good
Lmao at the Smack My Bitch Up moment.
The winning pair were very good last night.
Joanne and Ore needed to calm down on the recent show!
The final celebrity special of the series airs this afternoon at 5:30pm and is a Noughties special! Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton, Simon Webbe and Duncan James, Claire Richards and Lee Latchford-Evans take part.
Liz and Natasha were horrendous
I thought Claire and Lee were pretty good and unlucky not to make the final.
I'd love to apply to this but apparently you can only do it with someone you live with or in your household bubble. My partner wouldn't want to be on it, so that's me out until they allow you to do it with friends.
I would imagine so, yeah, so hopefully it'll change after Omicron subsides. A lot of TV productions are still being very cautious with bubbles etc I think.
I would imagine if I went on it I would be terrible, although I know lots about the charts and can predict what episode of TOTP they are showing in the second round before it shows it I am not great at hearing a little clip of a song and being able to remember it. I would also freeze on tv and make it even worse and get obvious ones wrong 😬
Back for another series tomorrow.
I wonder if they're going to re-introduce the studio audience and walk-in intro now that filming is no longer under Covid guidelines. I wasn't a fan of those things, so hopefully they keep the format the same as the previous series.
One of my fav shows at the moment yes i always shout (or say even) the answers at the telvision
Returned for a new series a couple of weeks ago.
They don't need to help Jayde with the answers.
The best contestants ever on Saturdays show there!
I was playing along on Saturday too and I would’ve got a perfect game with the questions that were used on that final
Yeh tbf I knew most of them but not everyone would have plus they were excellent throughout!
Christmas Special airing 23rd December at 6pm with Una Healy and Kimberly Wyatt, Gregg Wallace and Kate Thornton, George Shelley and Kitty Scott-Claus.
Do they get some people to film this at the same time as The Weakest Link
Hope Kimberly slays just as much on this.
Just watched this and enjoyed when the teams thought ‘Lonely This Christmas’ was by Elvis!
It was never an Elvis song, they were purposely trying to sound like Elvis when recording it!
