Black Bull is instantly better than Exits or any other song from Part 1. I am actually excited for this album now.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 2nd August 2019, 01:57 PM

Not instantly hitting me - that sound is going back to their first album almost! Exits still remains my favourite from this project.

Posted by: Conanderella 5th August 2019, 02:19 PM

This is still so anthemic and catchy, one of their best recent songs.

I was actually excited to hear this after this post but this is not the first album Foals sound that I remember!

This is alright though, definitely a better lead than 'Exits' but still feels like it doesn't have too much substance to it hmm.

Posted by: dandy* 6th August 2019, 04:53 PM

Just heard this for the first time and I definitely like it more than anything on Part I, it doesn't outstay its welcome and it's got a real energy to it.

Posted by: Miguel 7th August 2019, 11:29 AM

Yeah, Black Bull is definitely one of the best song from this release!

Posted by: Juan Carlos 28th August 2019, 05:21 AM

"The Runner" is slated to be the next single. The track is impacting US Alternative radio on September 10, so it's most likely to out within the next week.

Posted by: Conanderella 28th August 2019, 08:43 AM

I'm still blasting Black Bull. So so so good. Let's hope it wasn't a fluke

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 28th August 2019, 10:54 AM

'The Runner' is out on September 5th

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 28th August 2019, 10:59 AM

I've also split the Parts 1 & 2 discussions - Part 1's thread is here - http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=218602

Really looking forward to this album now after these two singles - Foals really are one of my favourite bands of the decade now, pretty much have got stronger with each release. Still listening to White Onion on my personal chart never mind any of the new singles!

Posted by: Hiyaluv 12th September 2019, 08:13 PM

Really into The Runner, even more so than Black Bull. Moody and infectious autumn indie banger!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 26th September 2019, 04:56 PM

'Into the Surf' was released yesterday -

Posted by: Burns 26th September 2019, 05:23 PM

Enjoying "Black Bull" increasingly and "The Runner" too, and this is also a nice release. Foals have been a revelation this year.

Posted by: f 27th September 2019, 07:20 AM

ready to get slayed by Neptune's 10-minute brilliance. Fingers crossed!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 1st October 2019, 05:23 PM

A video for 'The Runner' was released yesterday - still love this song!

Posted by: Hiyaluv 3rd October 2019, 07:30 PM

Don't seem to be getting bored of The Runner at all. Almost certainly set for a fourth week at #1 in my personal chart. Loving the continued relevance of this band. Still making incredibly important and necessary music after 12 years!

Posted by: Bré 9th October 2019, 12:02 AM

'The Runner' is starting to click with me more now though continuing to be fairly underwhelmed by the other couple of songs. I think Part 2 so far has been an improvement on Part 1 in general for me though so yay ~

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 12th October 2019, 07:18 PM

A video for 'Into the Surf' was released a few days ago:

Posted by: Bré 12th October 2019, 09:35 PM

...did you copy and paste your previous post and forget to change the song kink.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 12th October 2019, 09:45 PM

I actually didn't! laugh.gif I'm so tired, but I'm not sure how I messed that up so badly haha

Posted by: Steve201 17th October 2019, 05:37 PM

Have to say I'm pretty excited about this release tonight - just listening to 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost' for what could be the last time and it still sounds superb!

Posted by: Burns 17th October 2019, 08:50 PM

For what could be the last time?

A fair number of listens under its belt for me (Part 1) and it keeps getting better for me. Such a solid piece of work, the criticisms here surprise me somewhat.

"The Runner" is what Maroon 5 should be doing these days. It’s like a Foals spin on "This Love" meets "Harder To Breathe". Loving it now.

Everything I’ve heard from part 1 and 2 so far is so diverse, they’re really bringing it.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 17th October 2019, 08:53 PM

I also listened to Part 1 again tonight, loved it! Can't wait to listen to Part 2 - really couldn't imagine Maroon 5 doing anything like The Runner though

I will likely move onto the new album for the next 9-12 months!

Listen to "This Love" and "Harder To Breathe"! It's how Maroon 5 started out, just with the smoother, poppier vocal of Adam Levine.

Posted by: Burns 18th October 2019, 06:44 PM

Enjoyed this on first listen, though not as much as Part 1, however that grew and grew so I expect this will too. Foals are a revelation this year.

Posted by: DalekTethered32 19th October 2019, 08:41 PM

Really liked this. Has this empowering vibe that feels cathartic considering the range of dystopian themes explored in the 1st part.

10/10 [GOLD]

Favourite Tracks: Neptune, Wash Off
Least Favourite Track: Minus the interludes or short instrumentals... Dreaming Of

Here's how I would rank their albums from fave to least fave

1. Total Life Forever [fave]
2. What Went Down
3. Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 1
4. Antidotes
5. Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2
6. Holy Fire [least fave by default] (and even that is a 10/10 for me)

Posted by: f 22nd October 2019, 08:53 AM

That was pretty good and much better than Part 1. Like Lightning is a tune!

Posted by: f 24th October 2019, 09:02 AM

This has been growing on me so much with each listen.

Posted by: Cremey 24th October 2019, 09:08 AM

I saw them last night, tickets announced last minute and only £13 😱

I hadn’t given either of the ENSWBL albums much of a listen before getting tickets, but Red Desert going into The Runner is such a perfect opener. Was great to hear the new stuff live, definitely need to listen to them both more.

They closed with Two Steps, Twice, which was such a moment – I felt like I was 17 again 😭

Posted by: f 24th October 2019, 09:30 AM

They were here a couple of months ago, I now wish I saw them but the tix prices were really high. Like 60 pounds at least or something of the sort.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 25th October 2019, 05:56 PM

And now it's Foals' first #1 album!

(honestly the James Arthur stans on Twitter are *hilarious* right now laugh.gif )

Posted by: Bjork 25th October 2019, 06:26 PM

what do the say? smile.gif
are there really James Arthur stand?

I've got a few highlights! (and yes, there are loads of them!)

James himself even accused stores of changing the figures before he was obviously told to delete it laugh.gif

Posted by: Bjork 25th October 2019, 06:40 PM

hahaha people are crazy

Posted by: 파벨 25th October 2019, 07:27 PM

lmao another Bonnie Bear type of situation but on a smaller scale, oops

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 25th October 2019, 07:36 PM

What was that one about?

Posted by: Steve201 25th October 2019, 09:31 PM

Hahahah tells a lot about James Arthur fans that they don't know who 'The Foals' are 😂! Heads in the sand!

Sales may not have been stallar but think with their output in the past decade or more they deserve that. It's a decent (double) album!

Posted by: Burns 26th October 2019, 12:25 AM

I don't really think either chart really represents much anymore, but I'm still really happy Foals have managed this feat! They've been a revelation this year and really deserve some recognition for it.

Also it scares me how many James Arthur loon fans there are puke.gif

Posted by: 파벨 28th October 2019, 10:27 AM

10 The Runner
10 Wash Off
10 Black Bull
10 Like Lightning
08 Dreaming Of
10 10,000 Feet
11 Into the Surf
09 Neptune

I want to give Part 1 another try now - maybe I didn't give it enough attention and time.
