oh my at Rosalia getting 4 weeks at #1, you really do stan. song's ok I guess.
really like the Stormzy comeback and I listened to Suge the other day as it's high in the US chart, which is also rather good, shame it doesn't appear to be doing anything in the UK. 3 Nights also growing on me a bit.

Nice to see Hot Chip still nice and high for you, that was a real grower for me!

Giving the slowthai song a listen now... sounds like something you'd like tongue.gif Not doing anything for me oops.

Nice to see Satellite so high as well, not as good as Talk for me but still a very solid track!

Missed it last week but great to see 65daysofstatic getting another song in your top 40, and shocked to see Olvídame leave your chart so quickly! It's done the opposite for me in that it's been a real grower, and in fact it's actually at #4 in my personal chart this week (not that I publish it anymore because effort, I'll probably upload all of the missing charts at some point this summer), matching the peak it had for you!

Looking forward to seeing the potential impact that BJSC and Eurovision have on your chart soon.

65daysofstatic are apparently releasing a ton of paid Bandcamp exclusive material this year, I don't think I like them enough to justify paying to hear the rest of it laugh.gif but glad they at least made this one track available on YouTube (although not Spotify annoyingly). I tend to not really continue listening to BJSC songs for very long after the contests end including my own oops (I still listen to older BJSC faves but only via a big playlist on shuffle) - pretty much all songs leave my chart fairly quickly anyway though laugh.gif great to hear that it has continued to grow on you anyway *.*

BJSC/Eurovision impact coming up with my brand new actually on time chart in a couple of posts!!1

Everyone should stan tbh xx (I don't even think this is her best song or anything but it's just a massive bop that's somehow held at the top of my affections for a lot longer than most other songs I've loved this year).

I think 'Suge' will probably at least end up being a minor hit here along with 'Pop Out', I see it has now entered the Spotify top 200 as well.

Hot Chip also experiencing unusual longevity for me magic.gif and that and ROSALÍA have continued to be high as the next two posts reveal, oh my. x

You picked probably the least Pete friendly slowthai song to listen to haha. (Not that I particularly think you'd like any of his other songs either, mind).

I thought 'Talk' was ok but just a little too basic and like it could have been made by anyone, 'Satellite' feels much more like a classic TDCC song to me!

This was another week, like with Drab Majesty two weeks earlier, where the #1 is one of the previous week's lower debuts suddenly blasting into the lead after hearing it more times in its second week - this time it's 'Energy' by BURNS, A$AP Rocky and Sabrina Claudio exploding 24-1, a really brilliant blend of dance, R&B and hip-hop, I think this song has gone a little under the radar on BuzzJack and it deserves more attention so people should listen to it xx A$AP Rocky also has a new entry in the top 20 featuring on the new song from fellow A$AP Mob member Ferg (featuring a sample of Sheck Wes' 'Mo Bamba' lol) in what is a very hip-hop heavy week of new entries. Two Door Cinema Club's 'Satellite' climbs again to #2 in its third week. Hot Chip's 'Hungry Child' finally manages to overtake 'Con Altura' by ROSALÍA, J Balvin and El Guincho but still has to settle for falling a place to #3, having likely missed its chance of a #1 peak now, while 'Con Altura' slips back to #4 from the top spot. Better news for ROSALÍA came with her A.CHAL collaboration 'Me Traicionaste' joining 'Con Altura' in the top 5, becoming her third top 5 hit of the year. The highest new entry, and only one in the top 10, came in at #7 for Denzel Curry (of my BJSC Halloween II entry fame) with his fresh new banger 'RICKY' which follows two previous appearances in the low 30s for Curry earlier in the year. Dominic Fike returned to the top 10 for a second week at #8 with '3 Nights' while the rest of the top 10 were in decline, Tierra Whack's 'Unemployed' down a place to #6, The Amazons' 'Doubt It' down 3 to #9 and Drab Majesty's 'Ellipsis' slumping 4-10.

While the two highest new entries came from American rappers, there's also some good representation in the newies of this week from British rappers, the highest being at #20 for Digga D's drill hit which I thought was pretty boring at first but it's wormed its way into my head. Down in the 30s there were also new entries for Manchester's Bugzy Malone (also a grower, had to get used to the accent x), another drill (ish) hit from Hardy Caprio and DigDat and the less mainstream Barny Fletcher who becomes the latest Radio 1 Introducing playlist act to chart, he's another rapper in a similar lane to Kendrick Lamar/Anderson .Paak/J.I.D which I clearly always am a fan of. Speaking of Anderson .Paak he also had a new entry featuring on another track from Flying Lotus' new album which matched the #25 entry of his previous hit. The only non hip-hop new entries came in the form of the 2 best album tracks from Billie Eilish's album which I finally listened to, both entering the top 30, and a dance track from Lone scraping into the top 40 (thanks to Spotify's Release Radar for that one although it was a few weeks late). There were also two re-entries following, as often seems to be the cause of re-entries, music video releases - Bring Me The Horizon nabbed a new peak with 'mother tongue' becoming their second top 20 hit for me while AJ Tracey's former #1 snuck back into the top 40 for a week (and now I've seen it is back off ACR, maybe it might still yet become a UK top 40 hit too, though I'm still not holding my breath).

BJSC 114 and the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest both unload a bunch of new entries on my chart this week (4 and 5 respectively). I came pretty close to having only my second ever Eurovision personal chart #1 (following Aminata's 'Love Injected') but ultimately it wasn't to be as BURNS, A$AP Rocky and Sabrina Claudio's 'Energy' holds on for a second week at the top. Eurovision wins the battle of the song contests for highest new entry as the gorgeous understated Slovene entry 'Sebi' by Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl zalagasper as they're now called debuts at #2, while my fave from BJSC, Elëdan's entry 'Yad' by Erika Lundmoen, enters at #4 (after Elëdan's 3 previous entries in 2019 all just missed out on my top 40). The top 5 is completed by the 2 unusually long runners, Hot Chip's 'Hungry Child' stationary at #3 and ROSALÍA and J Balvin down a place to #5 with 'Con Altura' (feat. El Guincho) on their 6th and 8th straight weeks in the top 5 respectively. Two Door Cinema Club's 'Satellite' falls back from #2 to #6, ROSALÍA and A.CHAL's 'Me Traicionaste' reverts back down to #7 and Tierra Whack's 'Unemployed' falls three to #9. The highest non song contest new entry is 'Greaze Mode' by Skepta feat. Travis Scott Nafe Smallz which enters at #8 having grown a lot since it missed out on a top 40 place the previous week. slowthai's 'Nothing Great About Britain' completes the top 10, climbing to #10 in its third week to become the fourth top 10 for slowthai. slowthai and Skepta also simultaneously debut inside the top 30 with a new collaboration.

Iceland's Hatari had only my third favourite performance in Eurovision but I liked the studio version a lot more than the live version, which helps it actually enter as the second highest Eurovision song inside the top 15. Azerbaijan's Chingiz and Spain's Miki Núñez debut in the top 30 and the last Eurovision new entry is Portugal's Conan Osíris which missed out on the final but I still made sure to check it out along with the other DNQs despite not watching the semi-finals (with Osíris' '100 Paciência' being one of the aforementioned Elëdan BJSC entries that just missed my top 40). The other BJSC debuts are Fljótavík's DJ Mehdi in the top 20 (actually a song from 2006 but new to me) and Terra Avium's Altın Gün (not a Eurovision entry as much as the title might look like one!) and Skall's Against All Logic inseparable in the high 30s.

Back to non song contest related new entries, Tyler, The Creator's incoming actual hit single debuts just outside my top 10, probably expect a rise for this one next week and maybe some more Tyler entries at some point whenever I get around to hearing his album. An afrobeat flavoured banger from GoldLink featuring Maleek Berry and Bibi Bourelly debuts in the top 15, Lewis Capaldi finally makes his debut on my chart just outside the top 20 as his new single has suddenly hit me in the feels, a new track from REZZ which sounds exactly the same as all her other songs (this is a good thing) debuts top 30, The Midnight's newie enters the top 40 as it hits the same unique blend of melancholy and euphoria as their BJSC entries (thanks Jade for making me aware they had new material x) and a couple of new rock songs close out the top 40 from The Black Keys (the first single from their new album that I've been particularly impressed by) and Biffy Clyro (not their best song but still pretty good and hey, it's only for a soundtrack x).

Hello Bré!
Nice to see Eurovision impacted your chart, all the Eurovision songs are great, even though (unpopular opinion) I didn't get Portugal entry.
I also like the debut for "Hold Me While You Wait"!
Great chart!

Took a listen to the Burns song, sounding rather good.
Quite liked the Slovenian entry but not one of my proper faves, didn't manage to make my top 100.
Not familiar with Tyler's previous songs but I'm liking the sound of Earfquake, glad that's doing it for him.
Liking the BJSC entries here too.

Didn't see you'd posted your chart oops but great to see Sebi so high, just one place lower than it is on my chart wink.gif I don't know what it is about it, it certainly stood out and I think it's the type of track that really gets me with the melody and smooth instrumentation if you get what I mean.

Nice to see Truth enter as well! That was great in its own right but I think it was overshadowed in such a good contest for me this year.

Enjoying the Altin Gun song as well, a real earworm! (even if I don't know what it's about)

Great chart biggrin.gif

A BURNS song at number one? Excellent!
I also checked out that Lone track. It's marvellous!
Great to see Hot Chip, Telemoveis, Slowthai and Tyler on the chart.

Not too unpopular an opinion clearly considering it didn't qualify laugh.gif

It's a shame the BURNS song did absolutely nothing despite having a moderately relevant artist on it - I saw it $ma$hing your chart at #81 now though, slay xx 'EARFQUAKE' doesn't really sound like much that he's released before, this album is quite a departure for him.

My charts appear at unpredictable times cool.gif (apart from consistently showing up in the Multi thread every Thursday / early hours of Friday morning lol). I love how it seems most of the people who particularly liked 'Sebi' on BuzzJack had it as their absolute favourite of the contest! Didn't realise you were one of those as well *.* I kinda wish I had charted it at #1 now but ah well ~

Thanks Sven and Dalek for the comments as well. I approve any ROSALÍA stanning x

For the first time in 12 weeks there was a brand new entry at #1 as Halsey's 'Nightmare' turned out to actually be a really great song (after being one I didn't bother listening to in the first week of its release because I don't have much interest in her as an artist). It was a very close race for the #1 though with two other songs surging into the top 3 after debuting in the top 15 the previous week - Tyler, The Creator up to #2 with 'EARFQUAKE' (as his 2 other songs that made the UK chart also debuted here - this was still before I listened to the rest of the album, more newies coming in the next chart x) and GoldLink, Maleek Berry and Bibi Bourelly up to #3 with 'Zulu Screams'. Skepta and Nafe Smallz also moved up to #5 in their second week with 'Greaze Mode', while zalagasper's 'Sebi' also leapfrogged BURNS & co. so it only fell 2-4 while 'Energy' slumped 1-6 after two weeks at the top. ROSALÍA and A.CHAL remained #7 with 'Me Traicionaste', Denzel Curry climbed back up to #8 for a second non-consecutive top 10 week with 'RICKY' (meanwhile debuting in the low top 20 with the follow-up single and scraping the top 40 with a second new entry featuring on another new Flying Lotus song) and the top 10 was completed by two slowthai tracks, 'Nothing Great About Britain' holding at #10 and being overtaken by Skepta collab 'Inglorious' which became slowthai's 5th top 10 hit of the year for me, more than any other artist has managed. It's also Skepta's third top 10 of the year.

MoStack made a belated debut in the top 15 after not making much impact on me when it first came out (but it's now stuck in my head all the time). Other new entries outside the top 20 came in the form of Lana Del Rey's Sublime cover, Hatari's ~controversial statement~ follow-up to their Eurovision hit with assistance from Palestinian artist Bashar Murad, a new track from dance legends Underworld who have apparently been releasing new music every week for months without me realising, David Guetta and RAYE's 'One Kiss'-alike, another identikit GRM Daily afrobashment track from Da Beatfreakz, Swarmz, Deno and Dappy (these songs always worm their way into my head xx), the next rising US hip-hop hit from Lil Tecca, Rammstein's new single which is a good song but we'll not talk about the video, Chase And Status' latest slightly disappointing but still pretty banging single featuring Kabaka Pyramid, Sam Fender finally scoring his second top 40 hit for me after just missing out several times in previous weeks and DJ Khaled's collab with John Legend and the late Nipsey Hussle which was surprisingly good with a nice mix of trap and gospel.

The big impact of this chart comes from me getting around to hearing Tyler, The Creator's excellent new album 'IGOR'. The lead single 'EARFQUAKE' rises one place to become his first #1 for me and he also has 3 more appearances in the top 10, with 'IGOR'S THEME' rising up to #9 but now only being his third highest song as the Kanye-esque 'A BOY IS A GUN*' debuts at #7 while he also goes straight in at #10 with 'WHAT'S GOOD' (one of the more rap-oriented / 'banger' songs on the album). Two more songs from the album also debut in the top 30 so he now has 7 songs in my top 40 (was very nearly 8 but I had to cut one). GoldLink & co. also rise one place to a new peak of #2 with 'Zulu Screams' while Skepta and Nafe Smallz' 'Greaze Mode' rises to #3 for a whole top 3 of songs that debuted 2 weeks ago and have climbed twice since. MoStack shoots up to #4 with 'Wild' which means the #1 takes a bit of a dive a second week in a row, Halsey's time at the top with 'Nightmare' being short as she already falls to #5. I think it'll hold up better next week though. x slowthai and Skepta, another of the debuts from 2 weeks ago, rise further to #6 with 'Inglorious' and Lil Tecca's 'Ransom' also explodes into the top 10 at #8. Halsey thus the only lead artist in the top 10 who doesn't make predominantly hip-hop music, I think that's the most hip-hop dominated top 10 I've had so far this year, had to happen eventually xx

ROSALÍA's latest single doesn't quite land her a top 10 debut, I don't love it as much as 'Con Altura' but it will quite likely still rise into the top 10, it is still another bop from her. A very soothing new track from Trentemøller (thanks YouTube randomly recommending it to me) also debuts in the top 15 as well as another Spanish track from SOFI TUKKER and Bomba Estéreo (both former BJSC faves of mine). Ed Sheeran, Chance The Rapper and PnB Rock debut in the top 20 (so much better than 'I Don't Care) as do another new song from Trippie Redd which is as lyrically deficient as ever but just a vibe, and Young Thug, J. Cole and Travis Scott's hit collab which just missed my top 40 the previous week but has grown as I've got used to Young Thug sounding weirder than ever on his verse. Entering the top 30 are another cut from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's upcoming thrash metal album (*.*) and a new song from Don Toliver (an act signed to Travis Scott's label who sung the hook on Travis' 'CAN'T SAY'). Completing this week's new entry spam there's also NSG's follow-up hit (not as good as 'Options' but still a bop), a new track from Metronomy of catchiest song of all time 'The Look' fame, another track from DJ Khaled's album this time assisted by Cardi B and 21 Savage, a belated debut for Octavian's collab with A$AP Ferg (a pretty pointless feature really), one of the two new songs from the long-absent and mysterious Jai Paul, one of the two new songs from the slightly less long-absent and mysterious Sufjan Stevens and finally Hot Chip's follow-up to 'Hungry Child' which I sadly don't like nearly as much, wish they'd continued with the house sound but this one is still fairly good.

Glad to see EARFQUAKE reach number one and also Skepta's climb, although I'm surprised only Greaze Mode has charted from his album (presumably just because you haven't listened to it yet!).

Also love the new entries from Trentemøller and Metronomy in particular, both are likely to debut in my chart next week, even though the latter isn't quite as amazing as The Look!

Shame Dominic Fike, Rammstein (speaking of which, Deutschland also deserved way more than one week in this chart!) and Lewis Capaldi have dropped out already but that's probably a consequence of your chart's fast turnover!

Great chart!

Halsey being a #1 for you too :') our taste crossover tongue.gif

Zulu Screams was also my immediate standout from the new GoldLink so that might land for me soon.

Otherwise from this bunch, Con Altura is still Rosalia's standout for me, nice to see Doin Time although a lot lower than it landed on mine, and Hot Chip good to see too although none of their releases so far from this era have super caught me yet. BURNS Energy charted for me a few weeks back but I've not heard talk of it elsewhere so, another we have in common, and the Young Thug song will be landing for me too soon, probs. Great writeup!

I've not listened to Skepta's album so as of that chart I'd only heard 'Greaze Mode' and 'Bullet From A Gun', and the latter took a while to click with me - I have been meaning to listen to a couple of other songs from the album but he has charted a couple more songs from it now at least!

I'd be surprised if Metronomy ever topped 'The Look' wub.gif but yes this was a pretty good comeback song from them, glad that you liked the Trentemøller song as well! And yeah, '3 Nights' actually had one of the longer chart runs I have had on my chart this year laugh.gif

That's all a pretty decent amount of crossover magic.gif I've not really cared near as much about the other few songs I've heard from GoldLink ('Crew' was pretty good tho) but this one is a choon ~

~

Getting back up to date with 2 new charts again now cool.gif I'll post 2 charts in a row on time again one of these days x

Tyler, The Creator's album tracks went into decline here but he did pick up a second week at #1 with 'EARFQUAKE', remained in the top 10 with 'A BOY IS A GUN*' down two places to #9 and even just about scraped another new entry in the top 40, a rare feature from him alongside Jay Prince on GoldLink's follow-up single - not as good as I hoped from a (very unexpected) collab between the artists who were at #1 and #2 for me the previous week but still pretty decent! The rest of the top 3 was filled by a couple of the previous week's new entries zooming up in their second week, Don Toliver's 'No Idea' rising 30-2 (matching the peak of his uncredited feature on Travis Scott's 'CAN'T SAY') and Trippie Redd's 'Under Enemy Arms' up 18-3 to become his highest charting song for me (although 'Topanga' would probably have been a #1 if my charts were a thing last year). GoldLink, Maleek Berry and Bibi Bourelly dropped to #4 with 'Zulu Screams' and ROSALÍA rose to #5 in her second week with 'Aute Cuture' to get her fourth top 5 hit out of four songs released this year. Halsey's 'Nightmare' had a smaller drop of one place to #6. zalagasper of Slovenia Eurovision fame picked up highest new entry honours for the second time in four weeks as their first post-Eurovision (and English language) single 'Come To Me' gave them a second top 10 hit at #7, just beating MIRÈLE's 'Yesli By Lyubov'', my BJSC 115 entry which debuted at #8 (would have been higher in earlier weeks if I wasn't hiding it from my chart, but as it is it'll end up the lowest charting of my 2019 BJSC entries so far). Still bitter at it not qualifying xx Skepta and Nafe Smallz' 'Greaze Mode' completed the top 10 falling 7 places to #10, but there was better news lower down for Skepta as he landed two new top 40 hits, going top 30 with his J Hus collab and a belated scrape in for his other lead single that did eventually grow on me.

CamelPhat landed their fifth top 40 hit of the year, entering the top 15 with their new Jake Bugg collab, while there was also a low top 20 new entry for Daphni (an artist also known as Caribou who I knew from a couple of late night Radio 1 faves about a decade ago) with a remake of an old disco song by Paradise, who are credited as a featured act, and one of the two new Bon Iver tracks just missed out on a top 20 debut (the other was also good but won't make my chart). The last few new entries came from Lebanese band Mashrou' Leila with a Joe Goddard-produced track which I missed when it was released a few months ago but has a new and rather hard-hitting music video, The Chemical Brothers also debuting following a music video release and getting their fourth top 40 of the year, Miley Cyrus making a debut after just missing out the previous week and /r/hiphopheads fave Big K.R.I.T. with the first song of his that I've bothered to listen to, a bit of a Kanye-esque track complete with retro soul samples. Maybe the biggest news of the week was 'Con Altura' by ROSALÍA and J Balvin feat. El Guincho becoming the first song of 2019 to have more than 10 weeks in my top 40!!1 (although this was its last week unless it somehow re-enters later oops x)

A brand new top 2 this week as legendary and elusive producer Burial blessed us with one of his occasional comebacks, dropping 2 new songs - the 2-step anthem 'Claustro' goes straight in at #1 while its 8 minute ambient 'B-side' also debuts in the top 30. Straight in at #2 behind it is the #absolutebanger 'Down Bad', a single from a forthcoming compilation album from J. Cole's Dreamville label which packs contributions from J.I.D, Bas, J. Cole himself, EARTHGANG and Young Nudy into under 3 minutes, sadly not yet a first #1 for my former BJSC artist J.I.D but it matches the #2 peak of his previous J. Cole collab 'Off Deez' and is his fourth top 10 hit of the year. Tyler, The Creator's 'EARFQUAKE' slips to #3 after two weeks at the top, while Trippie Redd falls a place to #4 with 'Under Enemy Arms'. CamelPhat and Jake Bugg's 'Be Someone' rises to #5 in its second week to become CamelPhat's highest charting song for me so far (though 'Cola' would probably have charted higher if not #1). My BJSC Pride II entry (and the inevitable winner tbh) 'gec 2 Ü' by the crazy genre-bending 100 gecs debuts at #6. The rest of the top 10 are fallers - Don Toliver's 'No Idea' slipping 2-7, Halsey's 'Nightmare' down two to #8, ROSALÍA's 'Aute Cuture' down four to #9 and GoldLink, Maleek Berry and Bibi Bourelly's 'Zulu Screams' down six to #10.

JPEGMAFIA and Eyas' blink-and-you'll-miss-it top 40 hit from a couple of months ago returns at a more respectable position in the top 15 following the release of a music vide, while AJ Tracey has the first song to have 3 separate runs in my chart this year as he pops in again in the 30s as 'Ladbroke Grove', a former #1 on my chart, is finally a UK top 40 hit. My fave of the DNQs in this BJSC (apart from my own), Tinnmark's Unge Ferrari appears in the top 20 just ahead of a new track by YouTube edgelord-turned-musician Joji and the glitchy delight of the new single by Flume and London Grammar. Little Mix's new single debuts in the top 30, a bit of a guilty pleasure as it's really tacky and lazy but I can't help but love a bounce beat. Katy Perry finally makes the top 40 after bubbling under for a couple of weeks and the new entries are completed by a very well-written and emotional track from Alec Benjamin, the not so well-written and emotional but still pretty fun recent UK top 40 entry by Young T & Bugsey and Aitch and Kishi Bashi scraping in a second top 40 hit from his current album after a couple of previous singles just missed out. This one has some lovely violins on it if the title doesn't give that away. x

That Burial song is alright, I've never really got into him aside from the wonderful 'Come Down To Us' though.
Liking the new Flume a lot anyhow and yay for Katy finally impacting here too, best song of hers in ages.
