Booksmart is a coming of age teen comedy out on Monday 27th May and is Olivia Wilde's directional debut. The film has all female writers and is led by Kaitlyn Dever (Short Term 12) & Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird), with other cast members including Billie Lourd and Lisa Kudrow. A masterpiece 💗💗 this is already one of my fave films of the past few years & can easily see this being a future classic. The cast, directing & writing is all incredible and the story is fab. Y'all better watch this, I hope this can be a box office & critical smash 💗 |

Didn't love this, but I enjoyed and liked it. A couple of issues with the editing and throwing the pace off, but it felt like a mix between Mean Girls and Superbad to me.

I saw this last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will certainly be high up on my list of favourite 2019 films. Kaitlyn Dever character in particular I thought was fantastic.
However, with a few changes I feel like this could have been my favourite film of the year. How can you introduce such an interesting idea like the murder-mystery party and do nothing with it? Also the hallucination scene really fell flat for me. This post has been edited by LewisGT: Jun 18 2019, 02:20 PM |

Also the hallucination scene really fell flat for me. That was one of my highlights for how ridiculous it looked! I think I fall into the same 'enjoyed and liked but didn't LOVE' category as Jonjo, a very solid 8/10 sort of movie for me, but I can certainly see why Sam loves it so much as someone of a similar age to the two leads. |
