Update for the end of 2014...
2011: 24 2012: 25 2013: 22 2014: 21 So the trend of low-to-mid 20s continues this year, and it's actually the lowest tally yet being one less than last year's 22 #1s. |

I finished on 25 this year, down two on 2013's 27 due to three long runners from Sheppard (8 weeks) and Sanna Nielsen/The Veronicas (6 weeks). 2002 and 2012 remain my lowest at 16 each.

well I got 18 #1s in 2014 in the end, not quite matching 2011's record for least #1s but less than 2013 (19 #1s)

I had 23 #1s in 2014; the highest in a calendar year since 2006 (24). Only 3 songs managed to spend 4 weeks+ at the top, Kiesza's "Hideaway" (4), Röyksopp & Robyn's "Do It Again" (4) and Caribou's "Our Love" (5).

The record for lowest in a year (19 in 2007) looks under threat. |

Only 14 new #1s for me in 2015, largely helped by the following:
- the first new #1 of the year not coming until February - Avicii spending 12 weeks at #1 with 'Waiting For Love' - Sigala spending the whole of November and December at #1 with 'Sweet Lovin' and for a year with so few #1s, six of them were just one-week #1s!!! ** *** *** Sandy Rivera ~ BANG! (feat. April) (05/01/15 - 02/02/15) 5 weeks (7 n/c weeks) 01 093 110 Pep & Rash ~ Rumors (09/02/15 - 23/02/15) 3 weeks 02 094 111 Alex Adair ~ Make Me Feel Better (02/03/15 - 16/03/15) 3 weeks 03 095 112 Oliver Heldens ~ Melody (23/03/15) 1 week ** *** *** Alex Adair ~ Make Me Feel Better (30/03/15 - 06/04/15) 2 weeks (5 n/c weeks) 04 096 113 Alesso ~ Cool (feat. 2015: 14 #1s 2016: 5(so far) Uptown Funk! and Hello had a major impact on 2015. 5/14 of the #1s in 2015 were one-week #1s. The average number of weeks at #1 in 2015 was 4 weeks. My 2015 #1s #1 | 1/3/15 | Taylor Swift - Blank Space (1 Week) #2 | 1/10/15-3/14/15 | Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk! (10 Weeks) #3 | 3/21/15-4/18/15 | Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do (5 Weeks) #4 | 4/25/15-5/9/15 | Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth - See You Again (3 Weeks) #5 | 5/16/15 | WALK THE MOON - Shut Up + Dance (1 Week) #6 | 5/23/15-6/27/15 | Taylor Swift ft. Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood (6 Weeks) #7 | 7/4/15-7/25/15 | OMI - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) (4 Weeks) #8 | 8/1/15-8/15/15 | The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face | (3 Weeks) #9 | 8/22/15 | Selena Gomez ft. A$AP Rocky - Good For You | (1 Week) #10 | 8/29/15 | Tinie Tempah ft. Jess Glyne - Not Letting Go | (1 Week) #11 | 9/5/15-9/19/15 | Calvin Harris ft. Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love? | (3 Weeks) #12 | 9/26/15-10/17/15 | Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean? | (4 Weeks) #13 | 10/24/15-12/19/15 | Adele - Hello | (9 Weeks) #14 | 12/26/15 | Justin Bieber - Sorry | (1 Weeks) My 2016 #1s Only 5 number ones so far. By this time in 2015 I had 6 number ones. There will probably be less number ones than last year come December but you never can tell! I've had so few number ones so far mostly because of TØP (with a record 12 weeks, almost 1/4 of a year!) and Kesha taking out 20 weeks of the year already! So far no 1 week number ones. #1 | 1/2/16-1/9/16 | Justin Bieber - Sorry | (2 Weeks) #2 | 1/16/16-4/2/16 | twenty øne pilots - Stressed Out | (12 Weeks) #3 | 4/9/16-4/23/16 | Lukas Graham - 7 Years | (3 Weeks) #4 | 4/30/16-6/18/16 | Zedd & Kesha - True Colors | (8 Weeks) #5 | 6/25/16-now | twenty øne pilots - Ride | (2+ Weeks) |

2013: 18
2014: 25 2015: 28 2016: 15 (so far) I felt that this year's could rise with possible new debuts coming through. 2013 would have had an additional 8 had I not started in the middle of April. With that into account, my average is 26 #1's a year. |

Since my charts are daily, I'll go with the monthly breakdown of unique #1's. Here goes:
2013: Aug to Dec: [7] [11] [16] [10] [9] Dec. and August are low because they began/ended after/before the month began/ended. Highest #1 is 6 days. 2014: Jan. to Dec.: [5] [6] [10] [11] [11] [9] [14] [14] [14] [11] [12] [13] Highest is 7 days. 2015: Jan. to Nov.: [13] [8] [14] [11] [14] [9] [14] [12] [13] [11] [16] Highest is 8 days 2016: Jan. to July (so far): [19] [11] [12] [15] [12] [11] [11] Highest so far is 10 days, non consecutive across May and June though. |

So far this year has given 8 #1s so it seems likely there'll be more than 14 #1s by the year's end, unless something does an Avicii soon. 01 107 124 Morten ~ Beautiful Heartbeat (Avicii Remix) (feat. Frida Sundemo) (22/01/16 - 29/01/16) 2 weeks * 02 108 125 Tiësto & Oliver Heldens ~ Wombass (The Right Song) (feat. Natalie La Rose) (05/02/16 - 19/02/16) 3 weeks 03 109 126 Paperwhite ~ Get Away (26/02/16) 1 week 04 110 127 Zara Larsson ~ Lush Life (04/03/16 - 11/03/16) 2 weeks 05 111 128 MK & Becky Hill ~ Piece Of Me (18/03/16 - 25/03/16) 2 weeks 06 112 129 Maceo Plex ~ Mirror Me (feat. C.A.R.) (01/04/16 - 29/04/16) 5 weeks 07 113 130 Calvin Harris & Rihanna ~ This Is What You Came For (06/05/16 - 10/06/16) 6 weeks * 08 114 131 Kungs vs. Cookin' On 3 Burners ~ This Girl (feat. Kylie Auldist) (17/06/16 - 24/06/16) 2 weeks Still only on 8 #1s (as Kungs did 'an Avicii') so I'm on target to beat my record for least #1s in a year |

So far my record is a 3-weeker as my charts only cover the last month and I have a pretty fast moving track turnover.
Let's see what this year brings though! |

This time last year I was on my 6th number one (of twelve). This year... on my fourth at the moment so potentially less than 12 #1s for me this year!!

Number ones per year:
2020: 45 2021: 30 2022: 27 2023: 23 2024: 9 (so far) Longest-running number one per year: 2020: 3 weeks: Hayley Williams - Simmer / Of Monsters and Men - Visitor 2021: 4 weeks: Clairo - Amoeba / MUNA ft. Phoebe Bridgers - Silk Chiffon 2022: 5 weeks: MUNA - Home By Now / Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero 2023: 6 weeks: Tainy ft. Bad Bunny - MOJABI GHOST 2024: 3 weeks: Mahmood - TUTA GOLD / Angelina Mango - La noia / Beyoncé - BODYGUARD So I'm getting less and less #1s per year, and if previous years are anything to go by I should expect my first ever 7-week #1 some time this year |
