lol yup Coldplay care so much about chart positions and stuff that they would miss the Brits effect and extra sales. Of course.
My phone keyboard barely works!! Has it occurred to you to erm... NOT post it then if what you are saying is literally unintelligible? Such desperate attention seeking. |

Chainsmokers/Coldplay early doesn't make much of a difference. They're not an act who'll be hugely front-loaded. They'll get strong sales throughout the week. I actually think it's wiser to go into the new week with the song already peaking on iTunes and Spotify, rather than losing out on the first day or two where it has the climb there. There's the issue though of the fact they effectively guess Thursday's streaming, and as they have no previous days to base this guess on that effectively means a whole day of streams will be lost in its total. |

Yeah, I mean it'll effect tomorrow's sales but not next week's chart position is what I mean. |

One day of lost stream equivalent sales (which aren't really sales) are not going to cause anyone to lose any sleep. So it debuts very low this week, who cares? That will have zero bearing on its position next week, when streaming presumably will only build. |

It's Spotify's fault for not managing to sort a simple glitch. |

what I don't get is that Spotify updates pretty early, today even before 7am, is that not enough for the occ? I mean the chart is not published til 4pm, loos like plenty of time to me not sure why they prefer to estimate it/made it up :/ not sure how much time they need

Apple don't manage it either, nor do any of the other main/ larger streaming services.
The issue I guess is with sorting through the raw data and accounting for the limit of 10 plays/person/day - if you ask me the chart should end at midnight on Thursday as now and then be calculated on Saturday with accurate figures and then broadcast on Sunday.. but that would be very old skool. |

#135 Zak Abel - Unstable
Lovely to see this fairly high - it deserves to do so much better though. This guy honestly has the potential to be the next George Ezra/Sam Smith. Incredible voice, incredibly talented. |

Maybe he still can be? I don't think he's had THAT song yet. This. He sounds massive. There's a gap in the market for this years inevitable British breakthrough star (Passenger, George Ezra, Hozier, Calum Scott, ???) and I think it's only a matter of time before he has a huge hit. |
