Thank the lord finally some news!
It better be good tho, I need a slow december single from her to launch the album with
She said it will be a summer feel good song. Sounds like Up! 2.0.
Ugh, my least fave of the 4
Yeah it's still summer in Australia so at least her song will fit the right season.
I agree, "Up!" is good but out of the 4 others songs she has released, it's my least favorite one too . I want another Firestarter.
She's filming the music video next week and male models have been hired.
I can't pick between Firestarter and Soldier tbh. Both are up there for me.
What You've Done to me was fantastic but I've kind of grown tired of it
A new song called "Sweet Talk" is registered on the APRA website. Maybe the name of her new single?
3 others songs has also been registered on the APRA's website. All produced by DNA:
"Don't Give Up Tonight" — "Just Wanna Dance" — "You Make Me Feel"
Up is my second favourite behind her winners single so I'm all for an Up 2.0!
Isn't it called 'Always & Forever'?
Or is that just a promo single?
"Always & Forever" is just a promo single for the Sony Xperia's new phone.
I still think that's the one with the Nov 21 release though.
Sweet Talk will be released November 21.
After 4 consecutives successful singles, Samantha will release her fifth overall single "Sweet Talk" on friday november 21 on iTunes.

From Sanity:
"Wanting to focus, embrace, and celebrate the positive energy in her life, Samantha Jade is ready to release a brand new single. Not only is ‘Sweet Talk’ a new single, but it's surely the soundtrack to this summer. Think Janet Jackson meets Kylie: a jubilant feel-good disco-pop throwback, accented with double-claps and incredible Mariah-esque vocal runs.
It's no surprise that ‘Sweet Talk’ is so international sounding, given that Samantha recorded her vocals in London, and the song was then produced in Stockholm by Paro (Paloma Faith/ The Wanted), co-produced in LA by Brian Lee (Lady Gaga/Cary-Rae Jepson), mixed in Atlanta, Georgia, and then mastered in New York: a truly global recording befitting an artist with incredible global potential.
‘Sweet Talk’ is the lead single from Samantha Jade's debut artist album which is set for release in early 2015. It's an eagerly anticipated collection of material that's sure to echo the maturity, experience and talent that has been in & out of recording studios around the globe over the last ten years, whilst she has paid her dues. For now though, it's all about the sweet music, and ‘Sweet Talk’ for Samantha Jade. ‘Sweet Talk’ is Samantha Jade's joyous, fun, and celebratory moment to dance her way into the next stage of her career."
You had me at Janet Jackson, let alone "meets Kylie" too *.*
So so so so pumped for this, especially with the description! It sounds epic.
It's been a long time coming but I am so glad it looks like it is finally coming together for our Sammi.
Merged the two topics, I added the cover and pre-order info to the first post so it looks tidier.
Yassssssssss
But an early 2015 album? Does that mean another single before it or is she hoping this'll smash on radio for a while?
Probably a new single after "Sweet Talk". The song will probably be dead by then.
A preview of the song: http://instagram.com/p/uzsZIznLDp/
Sounds so good. 90's vibes
A lot of Sony's artists have released these kind of r&b old school type of song. Nathaniel with "Louder", Jessica Mauboy with "Can i get a moment". These kind of songs seem to sell more than pop dance tracks. I really believe it could be her biggest hit or at least be close of WYDTM sales. It reminds me a bit of the r&b roots that she had with "Step Up".
I love the sound of it from that clip.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas
this is exactly what I wanted from her!
Like it! Sounds like it could be a good wee hit. Aus is defo on fire at the mo when it comes to pop
Just noticed, is she continuing as Sammi now or is that not the official cover?
It is the official cover as it is on iTunes, but iTunes is still releasing the song under 'Samantha Jade' so I guess it may just be a one-off thing or a new logo.
It wouldn't surprise me if Firestarter, Soldier and Up get relegated off the album or to bonus tracks. The single is refered to as the lead single so it could be new logo new era.
From Idolator:
"Samantha Jade has dropped a bunch of great songs (“Firestarter”, “Up!” and “Soldier”) since winning X Factor Australia in 2012 but none of them are going to be on her long-awaited debut LP. Instead, a ’90s pop-referencing dance anthem called “Sweet Talk” is being touted as the album’s lead single. And it draws inspiration from Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera!
“I’ve always had a thing for 90′s style pop — the days when Britney, Mariah, and Christina were on a non-stop roll with huge hits,” the pint-sized diva explains. “I’m really inspired by powerful women like that… it seems like a lot of that female pop-star attitude is coming back with artists like Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus.” A snippet of Sam’s new single has already surfaced online and it sounds like an update of Mimi’s “Fantasy”. Take a listen to the Paro-produced gem after the jump."

Well for one I am glad she keeps her name for Last.fm's sake
However Firestarter and Soldier missing out on the album makes me sad
From myamm:
"Sony Music Entertainment is excited to announce that the brand new single for Samantha Jade, Sweet Talk, will be at radio Thursday 13 November and is available to pre order now ahead of its release on Friday 21 November.
Turning up the heat for the Aussie summer, singer Samantha Jade returns with the soundtrack to the party and holiday season, with her brand new single Sweet Talk. Nailing the perfect sound for her next single and on a roll from her multi-Platinum and Gold certified hits like What You've Done To Me, Firestarter, Soldier and Up!, Samantha Jade serves up yet another radio-airplay smash hit boasting instant appeal and chart-topping ambitions."

Hmm that doesn't sound as good as the previous preview
Sounds quite a bit like Sexy Love by Kylie Minogue mixed with a bit of Dreamlover/Fantasy by Mariah Carey! I'm liking the sound of it, although I hope the album has some Up!/Firestarter/What You've Done To Me style bangers and this isn't indicative of the whole album!
It's like the best of Mariah's Butferfly era meets "All For You". Love it so far.
Samantha said her album would be released in march on Facebook (Q&A):
Out in the US tuesday november 18.
Australia will include streaming in singles chart for the first time from 24 Nov 2014 which means that it will be even harder for aussie artists to chart very high against international artists who chart very high and who have plenty of views with just her name.
Just the week when "Sweet Talk" will be released. Australians will need to watch her music video a lot if we want another top 10/20.
Yes at least it doesn't sound as messy as the US charts.
Damn The Aussie charts are quite ridiculous as it is, so many amazing local artists (Ricki-Lee is a big one aside from her random one or two hits every few years) don't really make a dent as it is (until they make it big WW ) but streaming is only going to push them down even more! Hopefully Samantha isn't that affected, she's done well so far but she has the potential to just be huge!
Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian are two of the only ones off the top of my head who reliably seem to get a few hits each era! There is the odd big local hit (Que Sera, Geronimo, Stand By You, Never Be The Same etc.) but as a rule local acts just get diminished by worldwide stars
yeah for established artists like guy or jessica, this whole streaming thing will probably not affect them because they are always support by radio stations but for new artists like sammy it will just be a damn mess. Some of them would be lucky if they even make the top 40.
New preview of Sweet Talk: https://soundcloud.com/sony-music-australia/samantha-jade-sweet-talk
Very Mariah / Ariana. I love it
I need the full version of this yesterday.
Official audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJZ-89ZpJ5s This is slaying so hard!
The price of the song has been reduced to $1.19. Go pre order the song while the discount is still on https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/sweet-talk-single/id932868066
Oh my! That's very good!
Got Jess' Can I Get A Moment for the same price! Sony seem to be setting a fair few pre-orders at the $1.19 mark at the moment. Not complaining like as it makes my iTunes Au cash go that little bit further.
It's 99p on iTunes UK.
yeah i think it's a good idea to reduce the price. It helped "Up!" a lot and as soon as the single was Gold it was back to $2.19.
I hope they will keep the discount for the 1rst week of sale so we can have a better chance to make the top 10.
I just learn that Fifth Harmony from the US x factor will be performing on the UK x factor even if they're kind of unknown over there. I would like if Sammy could get this opportunity too. She already knows Louis and Mel and she's linked to Simon because of x factor australia.
Oh I rather love this! It's nowhere near Soldier or Firestarter for now but it's really good!
Edit: Omylord them whistle notes!
I really quite like this. Better than both Soldier or Firestarter for me. (I don't rate either of them at all)
I agreed that it'd be great if they could keep it reduced for the first week at least.
I really would like to see a lot of Sony Music Australia artists on X Factor UK. Sammy, Jess, Dami & Justice Crew for example. Although they do actually show X Factor US in the UK so I suppose their not entirely unknown.
Guys! We need to request like crazy tomorrow!
LOL Bundaberg! Shitty little village in the middle of bumf*** nowhere QLD but don't have details for any stations in Sydney.
Or FoxFM (109 FM in Brisbane) or Nova. Bit of a shit list tbh.
Oh God! So glad I got here in time. Would totally have missed this song otherwise. It's amazing.
Trending Topic in Australia
It's available for pre-order in the US now!!!
Personally I'm not feeling this as much as her other singles It's quite good but it just... I don't know... I can't fully take to it. Maybe it's a grower.
What You've Done To Me >>> Up! > Firestarter > Soldier > Sweet Talk
A behind the scenes video of "Sweet Talk" will be available soon

"Sweet Talk" is out on iTunes Australia. Go grab a copy and help the song to make it into the top 10: https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/sweet-talk-single/id932868066
#93 on iTunes and it's only 6am
The music video is out! =D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up4R_-kpFtE
Serving All About That Bass realness
I like the video and the song has grown on me massively as wel!
Her performance on Sunrise: http://youtu.be/Uk94RNRqXt0
Streaming is now included on the ARIA chart.
The song is down to 51 on iTunes Channel 10 didn't air her when she presented an award and there're not any others big shows in the future where she could promote the song. Her future gigs doesn't seem relevant enough to get her some headlines (free promo). I'm worried
It's going to be her biggest flop yet
One week into the top 40 and the song will free fall
I can't believe "Sweet Talk" is down to 81 on iTunes Her singles used to be so steady on iTunes.
No x factor or dancing with the stars. She already performed on Sunrise. I mean what can she do?
Only a big primetime show could help the song at this point but it looks like there's nothing left on tv
If she'd released it just a month or so earlier she could have been on the X Factor final, plusDWTS just finished I only know that because I was tracking Ricki-Lee's progress
#38 on the ARIA chart... At least it actually touched the top 40 I guess :/
If Sony really wanted her to perform there they would have tried. I mean Sweet Talk was released just in time for the Dancing With The Stars finale and they gave the slot to someone else
I hope it can become a sleeper hit.
PS: Did Ricky-Lee won DWTS?
No, she came third She scored higher than the second placer (Irene from Home & Away) though, some footballer won with perfect scores.
I know Charli XCX performed, she's not that big in Australia though... Boom Clap just got to #9. So if she got a slot, they could have tried to support home grown talent; someone who won X Factor.
Too bad for her. I just want her to succeed somewhere
Between a local artist and an international one, i bet their decision was easy
Yes poor Ricky. She has really good songs. I don't know why radio don't support her anymore. I bet once they saw her flop they decided to blacklist her. Hopefully radio will not serve the same treatment to Sammy. So many good female popstars in Australia who are paid dust because radio stations prefer to support international artists when some of them are not even as good as Ricky or Sammy
I hope Ricky can bounce back. But now that she lost DWTS and that her last album and single bombed, i'm scared for her future.
Tbf Ricki had that cancelled album in 2009 and was fine so I'll stay optimistic This is her best album yet as well! At least she's released one too unlike Sami
This song is great! Samantha Jade providing the pop realness since 2012!
This flopping is just embarassing for her
She's been declining in terms of success with every single tho, so it was to be expected but I never expected it to flop like this
I'm not really used to australian tv but is there any big primetime show where Sammy could perform Sweet Talk? I know The Project (even tho you can't perform there it's still a good show to be on) but it's on channel 10 and they may not want a x factor winner. I know The Veronicas were there 3 days ago and they are label mates with Sammy so...

It really sad how this underperformed and has so much potential.
If this was sing by Jessica Mauboy or an Amerocan artist it would've fared so much better
I personally don't think the song is that strong. It sounds like a song that would be the flop of the era for Jess
(Although Beautiful slays and only got to #46 so maybe not)

These bitches didn't let me win tho

I was wondering why its views were so high for a Samantha song that flopped but this seems to be the reason
Did anyone get the download of 'Always & Forever' and put it into their iTunes?
No a lot of people won but can't download the song for whatever reason
I didn't win
Thanks guys, I had the same proble. I won, but it won't let me download it.
I hope Sony put it on iTunes.
You better share it with us once you've downloaded it

"Aussie singer Samantha Jade is excited about her album which is due for release in May." http://www.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/confidential/samantha-jade-may-be-focused-on-her-new-album-but-a-role-in-a-soapie-would-be-worth-a-thought/story-fnilxh2p-1227245195041
So another 2 month delay...
So after doing an advert/song for a phone and releasing a free song for that, a supermarket Wollies, Samantha Jade has now teamed up with Justice Crew to do a promotional song for free download for Wheatbix.
Are we ever going to get an album?
I was listening to Bones by Ginny Blackmore earleir and it's been 2 years since that (although she's had Holding You and Love Me Anyway since then while working on it) but her album is finally out next month - it made me realise how often Australasian artists take the piss with albums But Sammy takes the biscuit, there's been two winners of XF since her and Dami has released her album. Tbh I reckon Marlisa will before her I expected delays after the tragedy of her mum dying but I'm just upset and frustrated she hasn't had the chance to release it I think Sweet Talk flopping didn't help, but it's been SIX months pretty much since that and there's not really been a lot of news. It's a shame, Sammy has potential to be huge outside of Aus too if they just tried.
Still, at least she didn't do a Natalie Gauci and not release anything for years Every cloud I guess.
There's always a 5 months gap between each of her singles apart of Sweet Talk because her mom passed away. So i'm pretty sure we will get a new single in April.
We already know that she will not perform at the Logie. Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor are. Another big gig wasted.
I don't see Sony releasing her album this summer. There's like nothing big on tv. The live shows of the x factor are in august so they will probably wait around this month.
But at the same time, Sony likes to wait months before releasing a new single when the previous one flopped (Nathaniel: "You're Beautiful" - Dami Im: Living Dangerously - Bonnie Anderson: Rodeo and The Collective's entire discography...)
"We’re hearing rumour that Ms Samantha Jade will soon grace us with a new single. We’re also hearing that said new single might have a name that sounds decidedly similar to that of a now-three piece British manband." - Auspop: http://auspop.com.au/2015/05/the-purge-33/
Take That probably
