Chart Commentary

A big thank you to all those 5 of you who commented on last week's personal chart, including M4NG0, PeteFromLeeds, sergejdordij98, HarryEzra and Sven10.

Avicii's run at the top comes to an end after a unconsecutive run of 4 weeks at #1. Finally, after 8 weeks on the Top 40 Countdown, BJSC winner Jaded are at the top with the infectious dance anthem In The Morning. Clash Music describes Jaded as "three London party-goers who want to translate those good vibes into lasting music. The trio fuse house with hip-hop, pop with techno, lacing together styles to produce something that it distinctly their own."

Without You is less popular this week than former BJSC entry Love In Ruins which climbs a place this week. Another former BJSC entry climbs one place also this week in the shape of DJ Licious who reaches a new peak of #5. Lonely Together climbs up to #7 and this weeks Track Of The Week from MK is at #9. Camila Cabello re-enters the Top 10.

The biggest climber this week comes from Camelphat & Elderbrook with their house single Cola which climbs up 14 places this week to #11. Martin Garrix reaches a new peak after remaining at #18 for the past two weeks. Trouble also climbs a couple of places this week and there is also a big climb for Angelika Vee whose remixed single covers a popular 90's summer anthem. Maroon 5 are also climbing up the chart with What Lovers Do which is a collaboration with SZA.

All the new entries this week fall short of the Top 30, but the highest of those comes from Craig David with his new single Heartline which enters at #33. There are also new entries for Kideko, Post Malone and Kah-Lo.

18 week Alma falls out of the Top 40 this week leaving the crown of longest runner to Sigrid with her single Plot Twist which is into it's 17th week on the chart.

A lot of people rate 1UL very highly, and whilst I do like it, I wouldn’t go as far as calling it my best dance song of 2017.

Good to know you’re getting into Lonely Together but I’d still say Without You is the better one.

I wish Martin Garrix had a hit with Pizza also.

Jaded finally making #1 here, I thought that'd happen. Starting to go off it again myself.
Yay at the big climbs from '17' and 'Cola'! Hope both can make their way into the UK top 40.
Someone else charting 'Coco Jamboo'!
Liking your new entries too, especially 'rockstar', such a catchy urban jam, exactly the kind of thing I want from a rap hit.
I hope 'Dum Dum' can do something too, not off to a great start chart wise sadly.

Havana and Lonely Together have grown on me a lot these last few weeks. A lot of new ones to discover on this chart too and interesting to see the popularity of DJ Licious on a few of these charts now!
