It's coming close to being the most wonderful time of the year when Christmas songs take over the official chart and chart runs of normal songs get ruined. Anyway here's me from last year to explain the poll (with edits for the current year).

Somewhere in My Memory is brilliant, one of my favourite Christmas songs. It's more than just background music given how prominently it's used in the first 2 films.

It's going to be a huge effect with Christmas on a Wednesday, the biggest it possibly could be. 30+ in the top 40 I would guess, let's hope they at least end up in a slightly different order to last year with some new peaks.

Looks like Christmas is already having a bigger chart effect this year.
To compare; positions from the same week, last year: 34 65 88 Mariah Carey ~ All I Want For Christmas Is You 52 RE 79 Wham! ~ Last Christmas 66 RE 90 The Pogues ~ Fairytale Of New York (feat. OCC still use an average for streams on thursdays right? If so I can see the Top 100 having 70+ Xmas songs. The top 40 26-30 although it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up being 30+.

There's guaranteed to be more this year based on the fact Xmas day is on the optimal day from a chart-perspective.
It's frustrating though that it's always the week they never broadcast. |
