Cannot wait to see her at the Bristol Hippodrome next month, this is by FAR my album of the year Such a special album by such a special artist.
This is up for a CMA for Best Album, hopefully it gets it given the insane critical reception but it'll be bloody Chris Stapleton again I'm sure |

Went to the first UK show of her tour last night, it was absolutely brilliant as expected She's such a magical vocalist hearing her live.

I've tried and tried with this album to see what's so special about it, but other than finding it "nice" there's really not much going for it, for me. Ugh. I hate missing out on pop albums that so many others hype up, but I'm sorry. I'm just not getting this one.
p.s. Not to say I don't like this btw, I do. It's just all a bit "nice" and nothing more to me. I' m finding it very 7 out of 10 whereas most others on here are hearing it as 10 out of 10/life changing/album of the year etc... Haha. |

Album of the year at the CMAs, so so pleased for her I really thought that yet again it'd be Chris bloody Stapleton as always.

"Rainbow" will be pushed as the next Country radio single and it seems that she's performing this at the GRAMMYs.

Not sure I'd have chosen that as the single, but it's magical live Country radio hates her for daring to even hint at anything progressive in her music anyway though so I guess it doesn't matter.

This already has two Grammys tonight (for Butterfies and Space Cowboy) so she's sure to get Country Album and I lowkey feel like there's a chance for Album Of The Year

Haven't listened to all of this album but I'm a fan of 'Space Cowboy', 'Butterflies', 'High Horse' and 'Slow Burn'. Really like the warm but chilled country sound this album has. Golden Hour is a really apt name for the music on this album. Will have to give the rest a listen now it's had big Grammy success!

I’m not gonna lie, I would never have listened to this if it wasn’t for the advice of the guy I’m dating but my god, I love this album and I’ve never been a fan of country. On first listen, I was very “all of this is nice but eh” but I’m so used to songs that are immediate and what is so perfect about this album is that it’s so easy and soft that it’s effortless and feels a bit average initially but when you really settle into it, that’s exactly what is so charming about it. It’s so beautiful.
Happy and Sad is a particular highlight and makes me feel beyond emotional. Velvet Elvis, Slow Burn, Rainbow and Butterflies are also such gems and I imagine it’ll be one of those albums where I fall in love with something new each week. I’m going to hold her responsible for single handledly changing my vision of country albums and to stop being so narrow minded! |
