V2 :
YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier. 1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for. 2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range 3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most) 4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks. 5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split. 6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it) Thank you. I know sales are down but is this the furthest we got into the year with only 2 (technically 1) platinum selling albums, (ed likely to join next week though)

It’s so sad to see the album dying out.

Both Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi should easily overtake the Greatest Showman,

I think they will both catch but im not sure it will be easy lewis has been out 3 months so far and still a good 80k behind so i dont see it happening before october /november ,
ed will do it faster but again i dont think he will do before mid to late september at the pace he is selling and TGS is still doing 5k a week comfortably |

If TGS does 6k/weekly, Sheeran must do 14k/weekly for the rest of the year to catch it. It's possible but the quiet weeks before Xmas sales (Sept-Oct) are most crucial.
I can see the Xmas sales help TGS more than Sheeran tbh This post has been edited by SKOB: 18th August 2019, 02:58 PM |

I can see the Xmas sales help TGS more than Sheeran tbh TGS *had* an Xmas boost last year - any 2nd year boost is far smaller, but Ed will be on a *first* year one... |

I can see the Xmas sales help TGS more than Sheeran tbh Its hard to say Sheeran will have big nov/dec sales especially if more singles are being rinsed on radio by that time. Mums will be buying it flat out as gifts. I've a feeling TGS will be BBC 1s xmas day 3pm film this year so sales of it will rocket in the final few days of the year and into January. |
