Outside Australia it by large failed to connect with people at the time of release.

I vote for Breathe. I'm surprised to read here that it doesn't seem to have charted in Ireland. I remember she performed it on Irish tv, but it mustn't have made a difference
Not fussed on the other two singles. It took forever for Impossible Princess to grow on me. That indie sound just doesn't do it for me, so that cd should think itself lucky if it is played once a yr. |

Ya I've searched and searched and I can get no info on the Irish chart performance of the singles, while I track the Irish charts for a good few years now I didn't back then.

One of my most listened to Kylie albums - still listen to it all the time, I remember Breathe and DIA being huge in the clubs at the time and the whole album brings back so many memories.

At the time I remember the breathe remixes going down well in clubs and some of my mates who weren't Kylie fans half liking them which was good as usually they would be like how do like Kylie.

I wonder if the album would have been commercially more successful if they had gone with the Kylie or Steve Anderson choices as the lead single? Kylie wanted Limbo (Which ended up as a B-side) and Steve wanted Too Far or Jump. I’m not sure any of them would have set the charts alight or performed better than SKOB?

I can't even see those working as singles, let alone lead singles. They're fantastic album tracks though.

I think limbo might have been a good lead single, I do love some kind of bliss but limbo would have been possibly catcher to the bigger audience.

'Limbo' would've been an interesting single.
To me, there are definite similarities to Prodigy's 'Firestarter', which was a huge smash a year earlier. |

Yes there is a similarity and it could have paved the way for some serious remixes.I love breathe as it is but it was Def one of her songs that would have worked with a great dance remix, I found some of remixes on the cd singles disappointing.A good dance remix may have sold better as it was a popular sound back then. Sometimes I do think kylie should have tried a good dance album but again some songs from golden could be turned into great dance numbers.

I def agree but its still a shame it didnt do better in the charts. Its good that Kylie has started to pay it attention again.

Kylie is showing signs that she has reconnected with the song again by adding it to the tour list.
