Ugh so nothing is even close to IDC and that's going to be #1 yet again. This really is going to end up doing a Shape Of You.

I’m shocked it’s doing so well in the US but flopping here in comparison, I didn’t think he was even known there. Really surprised, I hope radio picks it up soon here He has had a few US hits but I think Whitney being much bigger in the US than she is here is probably why the song appears to be doing better. |

Hmm I wouldn’t say Whitney was that much bigger in the US than here, especially since it’s doing so well on US Spotify I don’t think it’s down to it just being Whitney |

You're correct with the popularity, but you can't really compare album sales seeing as their population is significantly higher.

^ The US population is roughly 5 times the UK population so to make a more accurate comparison you need to multiply each of the UK album sales by 5.

I’d say Whitney is a huge icon in the UK too. She might have had a bit more commercial success in the USA but she is every bit as big in the UK.

This was from 2015, but I would imagine it's about the same now? (Country wise at least) Below is the country per person that spent the most on music (Bottom line profits, the US per person isn't the strongest, just the largest) 1) Norway: $23.58 per person 2) UK: $20.81 3) Japan: $20.64 4) Sweden: $19.75 5) Germany: $17.42 6) Australia: $16.26 7) USA: $15.36 8) Austria: $13.56 9) Switzerland: $13.39 10 France: $12.76 |
