That was a poor batting display from England with the exception of Ben Stokes. It wasn't the type of wicket to try to hit sixes on. At least it makes things more interesting now regarding which four teams will reach the semi-finals.

At least it makes things more interesting now regarding which four teams will reach the semi-finals. England seem to struggle on slow/turning wickets. I’m convinced we won’t win the World Cup because of this. |

Can Afghanistan do this? Surely not. 60 needed from 54 balls, five wickets left.

India win by 11 runs with Shami taking a hat trick in the last over. That was great entertainment.

Indeed it was. I didn't think Afghanistan were going to get enough at any point during that but I was hoping, at least they came close.

What drama in the second match.
West Indies were 164/7,needing 292 to win. Carlos Brathwaite hits a century to get them to 286/9 but gets caught just inside the boundary going for the winning six. Bad luck! |

England's World Cup hopes hang in the balance after a demoralising defeat by Australia at Lord's.
The 64-run loss means they might need to win their last two games, beginning with India at Edgbaston on Sunday, in order to make the last four. Much will depend on the results of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, who can all overhaul Eoin Morgan's men. |

They're really missing the injured Jason Roy at the top of the batting order. I hope he's fit for the next match. James Vince isn't up to the job and Alex Hales is suspended.

Pakistan kept their hopes of a World Cup semi-final place alive as they moved to within a point of England with a six-wicket victory over New Zealand.

India moved a step closer to the World Cup semi-finals and ended West Indies' slim hopes of qualifying with a 125-run thrashing at Old Trafford.
West Indies, chasing 269 for victory, were dismantled by India, with pace bowler Mohammad Shami taking 4-16 and Jasprit Bumrah 2-9. |

Pakistan beat Afghanistan with just two balls to spare. That was a tense finish. They go past England in the league table.

England surged into their first World Cup semi-final since 1992 with a comprehensive 119-run defeat of New Zealand at Chester-le-Street.
The hosts are set to finish third in the group and will meet India or Australia at Edgbaston next Thursday for a place in the final. |

England are playing much better now. Jason Roy coming back has led to a big opening partnership in their last two matches and playing an extra bowler instead of Moeen Ali was the right decision.

The Cricket World Cup final will be broadcast on free-to-air television in the UK if England are in it.
Sky Sports said they would show the event live, although they have not yet revealed which channel it will be on. |
