⬛ Joined: 17 February 2011 Posts: 56,203 User: 13,007	This is absolutely incredible omg! There are moments that are very Janet Jackson and others that are pure Kelela through and through. I need to relisten over and over and be fully immersed in the lyrics and production because this is an album here to stay! Also strange one but the artwork which I wasn't totally in love with, works perfectly and I can't explain why? The whole album is like a floating experience just drifting along but never fully drowning? Idk I am overthinking it all because I am totally blown away by it

#38BBE0 otherwise known as 'sky blue' Joined: 27 October 2008 Posts: 16,170 User: 7,561	Such a fantastic album- the sequencin, the tempo, and the production, all completely on-point throughout. Lock for #1 EOY 2k23 already I feel. Oh and the title track is quite special too when that bass cuts in, but I think “Contact” is my fave. .

Everything comes together so well from a production perspective, really up my street and I can totally see the Janet comparisons. Also she sounds very similar to Keisha Sugababe on some of the tracks

I think she sounds really Mutya in quite a few places, especially on the title track (one of my absolute favourites), not really getting Keisha though!

I can't stop playing this and think it slightly edges Caroline's album for me. But whew, what a benchmark Kelela and Caroline have set for 2023. THAT is how you make an album! A masterclass.
