drama.gif reading that e-mail smells of complete bullshit, but oh well. I doubt we're gonna see any album at this point.

Thank god I didn't place another order then after cancelling with some credit card drama x

Why has the album been cancelled? Is he recording some better/more adult songs so he can capitalise on Strictly a bit more?

The e-mail he's sent out says most of the songs are between 2-4 years old and aren't representative of who he is any more, and that this album isn't one that he'd be proud of being his debut. laugh.gif Like, his sound/style isn't going to change drastically, so why?

It all just seems so fake - I can guarantee this is just a decision by the label to avoid embarrassment of a flop (which could have been avoided entirely if they'd just stuck to the original release date).

Does Strictly actually boost pop careers anyway?? They should’ve just released in August originally and got a top 5 sad.gif At least he’s pretty.

I doubt it would've done much for an artist like HRVY, but even if the album had already been released, seeing him on TV every week would surely have given them at least a few casual sales, as opposed to now just... nothing?

What a disaster drama.gif

Ah fair enough, maybe on relfection the album was a bit of a Liam Payne vibe where it had been so long in the making that the finished product didn't work anymore.

The record label might be wanting to avoid a flop, but I do wonder if they're wanting to scrap it all and start again with something they can capitalise on with the Strictly audience. I don't think Strictly will have a huge effect, but I'm pretty sure his appearance will open him up to a whole new audience. I don't think the average Strictly viewer would have heard his music, so while his profile is building they can work on something a bit better and hopefully sell more albums further down the line.

I’m sure Pixie launched Platinum Pixie on Strictly and it didn’t do well?

I'm not saying it's the sort of platform that will give him a multi-platinum selling album, but I think an unnecessary greatest hits album is a little bit different to a debut album. If he takes the time to record some newer, slightly more mature, material I think there's a chance it will appeal to more people than he currently does. If he released his album on the original date I think it's too soon for that impact, whereas if they give it a bit longer - record some new songs - and he gets to the final then he has a chance at appealing to a more casual listener.

I was just think where the hell is HRVY’s album and now I know kink.gif

What a terrible decision to cancel it completely, all the formats would have been pressed etc., to scrap it last minute is madness especially as they have bankrolled his ‘career’ for years with no return on investment and the second he gets some exposure they cancel the album! I mean there is no way Strictly would have translated into huge sales but it surely would have got some boost? I can only assume the pre-orders were beyond horrific?

They should have just pushed it to January and sent him on a promo trail off the back off Strictly and snatched that 4-98 chart run rather than bin the whole project.

I’ve also just seen he released ‘Baby, I Love Your Way’ last week to zero fanfare.

I can see this being the last of his music career and he will just become a TV personality?

I mean I'm excited, but if they're already pressing ahead with an album out this year I can't see the material being much different to what he's already released, hence making the whole thing even more silly.
